Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

Thanks for all your well wishes, it's helpful to know that it gives hope. I am really looking forward to hearing when you all your BFP's. It will happen!

@sadtoday21 - it's amazing how much of a difference the growth and features are between scans. She now looks like a baby, but is so tiny at 8cm. I have a hard belly now, but don't quite look pregnant yet. Just look as if I have eaten a big meal, which tbh I did last night. I do think taking a break from the mental exhaustion of ttc is best, on reflection, this is what i did as I wanted to get my body in shape after the 2nd MC. Obviously we caught with this one, but really didn't expect it as we hadn't timed bd with O etc. Pleased to hear hubby is back and he has returned with gusto with ttc! Happy dancing!!! 😂😂xx

Hey @MrsMGE - unfortunately it does take a while and there are no guarantees. This is what i find the most frustrating about it all...total lack of control. Nature is a beautiful thing, but gosh she has a wicked edge! You will be sharing a similar story too very soon, and I am looking forward to hearing it xx

OmG @3204ECL - you should be 8 weeks now (right?). Sorry that the spotting happened, I also had this at 9 weeks and assumed the worst. So unnerving isn't it! So very pleased that little one is beating away. Sounds like you are getting good care aswell. Please do keep us all updated, I would love to hear how your are progressing xx

I never got much EWCM @Kiki061190 - the only time I did was when I started taking ubiquinol. I was always envious of those who got days of the stuff 😂😂 has O arrived? Xx

Enjoy the sunshine ☀️ ladies xx

@Amanda81 thanks so much for your words! Yes fingers crossed. I feel fine thank you, but just want my period to come so we can begin TTC again (Dr said to wait one period before trying again).

How's TTC going for you now? Are you back to normal cycles?

SunStruck · 29/06/2019 08:40

@Amanda81 oh sorry I missed that you're pregnant!! CONGRATsS! 🥰🥰

How long did it take for you to get pregnant after your miscarriage?

So happy for you 😃

Kiki061190 · 29/06/2019 08:41

@SunStruck my AF took 38 days to arrive so don’t worry! Everyone is slightly different!

@Amanda81 honestly I have no clue! I’m only on cycle day 13 and my temp dropped yesterday and I had tons of EWCM and some cramp. Temp has risen a bit today. I’m avoiding doing opks and trying to just see what happens!

Ginmonkey84 · 29/06/2019 08:45

Morning ladies how is everyone keeping?

A pretty uneventful 4dpo over here trying desperately hard not to symptom spot not that there’s anything to spot at the minute, wondering if I even O’d at all. I finally got myself to together yesterday to plant my rose bush with the babies remains in a little bio degradable box. It was a tough day but it gave me a bit of closure in some way. So it now takes pride of place in my garden. I took a drive to the coast afterwards and saw the most beautiful rainbow, I hope it’s a sign of things to come. It certainly made me smile if anything.

Hope your all enjoying the beautiful weather x

I'm on cd 20 and no sign of ovulation, I'm just tracking to know when af will start, I hate not knowing. I doubt we'll bother trying this month (we have unexplained infertility, that's why we had IVF). We're still waiting for our karyotyping results so best not just in case something is wrong with us. I'm my first MC it was 42 days from medical management bleed to the next AF, I really hope it's not that long this time. Hope everyone enjoys the lovely weather today.

LillyLeaf · 29/06/2019 10:53

@Ginmonkey84 that rainbow is amazing, a beautiful sign things will hopefully get better.

sadtoday21 · 29/06/2019 11:52

Wow @Amanda81 that’s amazing!!! I loved reading your post. I’m so excited to see how this journey progresses for you into the 2nd trimester. Have you told anyone else about the pregnancy yet? Xxx

Well I promised I wouldn’t keep temping post O, but just did one today at 5 dpo and think maybe I can’t help it! Had a nice rise today, but I know better than to read anything into it. I’m just trying to pretend I’m not in the TWW and I’m eating and drinking as usual. Five days before O is really a long shot!

@SunStruck thanks. With the first pregnancy i found out that the baby had stopped growing at 10+1 at the 12 week scan. Had the erpc early November. It took 35 days for AF to return. My cycles returned to normal (28 days), but did inherit some spotting before AF arrived. Apparently this can be normal. I conceived on my third cycle, but unfortunately naturally MC at 5+5 weeks. We then conceived again straight afterwards with this pregnancy (No AF), currently just over 14 weeks. Everyone's body responds different, so try your best not to get frustrated with progress. I know I did, and I look back on this and get annoyed with myself xx

Don't consider yourself out @sadtoday21. And if it is a BFN, you have regular cycles now (?) so the next attempt will be soon upon you! And I am sure DH will be making up for lost ground 😉 As I go on to construction sites a lot I've told the site foremen as I find going up the scaffold can make me dizzy. I've also given permission to my family to share the news with the extended family (there are many). I won't be doing a FB announcement, I rarely go on FB these days. I have found that we shared the news with the close people around us quite early on as they could tell I was anxious and something was wrong, and the way I see it, I would have needed their support if something had gone wrong in the first trimester, and will still need them if something was to go wrong now. I haven't missed temping. However, if I was in your position I would still temp (even though it annoys me) as it can give you so much assurance that the hormones are working. I wanted to keep a record of my cycles just in case I had to see a specialist for any reason. Your time is coming xx

SunStruck · 29/06/2019 12:15

How are you ladies doing it with drinking etc when TTC? I did everything right last time and didn't even drink during the TTW, took all vitamins etc etc but still lost it at 9 weeks.

Are you ladies extra careful this time around or will you just not bother until you know you're pregnant?

Kiki061190 · 29/06/2019 13:54

@SunStruck I don’t think there’s much that can be done to prevent mc but I don’t actually drink normally so I haven’t had to worry about that. I think the last time I had an alcoholic drink was maybe early March!

sadtoday21 · 29/06/2019 14:28

@SunStruck I asked this same question on my blog, you can see the results of the poll here: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/some-fun-polls.html

Personally, I’ve gone back and forth on this issue. Last month I tried not to drink at all, but was very disappointed when I got a bfn anyway. I also tried to limit caffeine. This month I’ve been drinking quite a bit due to some parties and celebrations with friends. I’ve decided that’s ok too and it’s very unlikely to have any impact on a future pregnancy anyway. Ttc is stressful enough without being told what we can eat and drink before we are even pregnant! I think it’s very misogynistic. I’m in good health and I need to take care of myself and relax sometimes too. Xxx

@sadtoday21 very interesting!! Well I love my wine so will live normally now when I can (lovely dinners out) and start caring more when I'm TTC again when AF bothers to show up 🤣

Catconfusion · 30/06/2019 07:09

Hey everyone and thanks for the lovely birthday wishes. So today is my 40th birthday. I have to say the meltdown I expected hasn’t hit me. I had a lovely day out with DH yesterday. Today I’m going to have a picnic with friends. I managed to dye my hair back to grey after all and I have to say I love it. I’ve had a lot of compliments.

This cycle we’ve decide to use Ovusense but not look at the chart until each Sunday and adjust dtd accordingly. With Ovusense I had my free fertility nurse appointment and she said every 3 days is enough to conceive and since I have long cycles it will keep our stamina up. I’ve also decided to catch up with you guys once a week too on a Sunday. I love the support we share on here but due to my long irregular cycles it gets so frustrating. Taking the focus off ttc has really helped me deal with it lately.

Anyway it sounds like everyone is doing ok. Congratulations @Amanda81 and @3204ECL I’m so pleased everything is working out for you. It’s so exciting! Xx

Kiki061190 · 30/06/2019 16:00

Awww @Catconfusion Happy Birthday! Glad the hair has worked out too ♥️ Have a fabulous day! I understand the need to step back and check in every now and then.

I’m cycle day 14 and have been cramping yesterday and today. EWCM has disappeared since yesterday. Temp rose yesterday and dropped slightly today. No idea when to expect O as I’m avoiding OPKs. Hoping my cycle is back to 28 days since this is my first cycle post mc!

SunStruck · 30/06/2019 18:52

Ladies, I just had a flashing smiley on clear blue OPK! I'm happy but not happy at the same time because I went to the Dr on the 20th for the check up after my D&C (now 33 days ago), and she said she could see some blood clots left that should come out. So I basically was waiting for my period, did not think I'd ovulate this cycle as it's been so long!

Spanner in the works is that DH and I had sex on Friday for the first time after D&C and stupidly did not use protection (I really thought period was on its way), which is the only reason I've taken a OPK test on the day we had sex afterwards (negative). 2 days later I now have flashing smiley 🤦🏻‍♀️

We did not want to try this cycle because Dr recommended to wait one period. So while I'm happy I'm ovulating (so things hopefully go back to normal), I'm now worried there's a small chance for pregnancy. And I just want my period so we can try for real! Sorry for the rant 😔

And unrelated but completely TMI, I've had massive jelly like clots today with brown in it, is this normal? Could this be the blood clots the Dr was talking about or just an extreme amount of EWCM? It's not like egg whites though, it's solid jelly. Really sorry for TMI but I've tried to google but can't find anything!

sadtoday21 · 30/06/2019 19:55

@Catconfusion happy birthday!! 🎉🎊🎂🎁🎈 I’m so happy you are in a good place now and I totally understand the need to step back from time to time. I also feel better when I’m not only focusing on ttc.

@Kiki061190 your chart looks great, but I would say you might have another day or so to go before O! You are totally covered on bd anyway so fingers crossed for you this month!

Hey @bananamonkey how’s the tww going? Xxx

@BabyPending how are you feeling now after the surgery? Hope recovery is going well!

@SunStruck I wouldn’t worry too much about not waiting, I’m sure you’ll be fine either way and unlikely to get pregnant from one time. But even if you are, the worst case scenario is probably a chemical pregnancy, which is not that bad tbh. Either way, just likely to end in a very heavy type of AF. I think clots are also quite normal at this stage. Thinking of you!

Well I’m 6 dpo and here is my chart. Am I crazy, or does this look somewhat promising? I know the bding is really far out from O, but can’t help but just wonder a tiny bit at these high temps. I guess time will tell, determined not to test this month as it will most likely end in AF. Thoughts?

Kiki061190 · 30/06/2019 20:18

@SunStruck I’d say the clots are a good thing! Your body will be clearing itself out. I had my AF this cycle for 4 days which is common for me but spottedup until day 7 which was mainly clots and unusual for me! I hope AF comes soon and you can get on to TTC again!

@sadtoday21 your chart looks fab! You’ve had another temp shift! Yeah I’m cramping bad today so assuming I’m O’ing today or tomorrow. We’re forgetting about opks and just seeing what happens. Fingers crossed for the two of us getting BFP in July 😘

BabyPending · 30/06/2019 20:27

@sadtoday21 what a nice shift! Hope it keeps going up for you sweetie! Nice solid ovulation line too :) I'm waiting for ovulation and hope it comes soon (I'm on day 14 I normally ovulate on day 16). Minimal spotting now but still there slightly, it will be 2 weeks tomorrow since the procedure and pregnancy tests are getting a lot lighter which is a good sign. Thank you for asking hun! I'm so tempted to try this month I'm holding myself back! Just want it to be next month already!! Xx

SunStruck · 01/07/2019 02:17

@sadtoday21 it looks like a great chart!! Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you x

@Kiki061190 thanks for your words x

So I just took another O test (morning where I am, not in the UK) and I have a solid smiley! Part of me reaaaaally want to try again (against Dr orders, she thought waiting for one period is better). I asked why and she said gives body time to heal etc.

I'll be honest it's been 34 days now and I wasn't in pain from D&C even the slightest afterwards (and no bleeding apart from straight after, just spotting very few days these 34 days).

Another part of me say stop being so impatient, the last I want is another miscarriage straight away? What do you guys think?

bananamonkey · 01/07/2019 09:11

I will say @SunStruck that you are super fertile after the MC and several of us had chemical pregnancies straight after. For me it wasn’t physically an issue but I found it emotionally a kick in the teeth, it also messed up my next cycle. There are some lucky ones though so you never know.

Your chart looks promising @sadtoday21! Thanks for asking after me, I was trying to be more relaxed this month but now I’m obsessing again. What started off as promising cycle seems to have gone strange. My temps and OPKs lined up nicely but since O my temps have been dropping now below the line, does this mean I even O’d at all?

Hope you had a fabulous birthday @Catconfusion x

Hey @bananamonkey, I had a great birthday thanks. We went to Plantation Gardens for the Jazz Picnic. I’ve lived in Norwich my whole life and never been there. It’s beautiful and comes highly recommended. The Jazz was good too!

I’m sorry to hear your cycle is odd. It does look like O hasn’t happened. Unfortunately you can get a peak and then it just doesn’t come to anything. There’s too many drops for it to be a fallback rise. Your body should kick in again in a few days time hopefully. This is how my cycles have been as you know. My previous charts didn’t show this despite having mild pcos. I’m convinced now it was the two losses back to back. I really hope it’s a blip and the next one is the one. Definitely see your doctor if it keeps happening. Xx

sadtoday21 · 01/07/2019 10:17

@bananamonkey are you sure it's not an implantation dip? I guess 4 or 5 dpo is a bit early for that, but you never know! Sorry to hear you are back to obsessing - so am I, just a bit. My temps weren't as high this morning but I did have leukorrhea this morning and sharp boob pain yesterday. I think I need to stop symptom spotting though and accept this month is very unlikely!

@SunStruck do what feels right for you. I didn't wait and I had a chemical pregnancy right after. They say the lining isn't strong enough to support another pregnancy right away. The chemical pregnancy did mess up my next cycle and I think it slowed my recovery down - but if you want to risk it, it's not the end of the world if it happens. I'm not sure if I would do it again or not. Since it took nearly two months for AF to return after my d&c, I don't think I could have waited that whole time.

bananamonkey · 01/07/2019 10:43

Ah lovely @Catconfusion, I’ve been there once just for a walk around but we live quite close to it so I’d like to go to one of the events like the outdoor cinema.

I’m wondering if this is what happened the first time I TTC where I had 60 day cycles, I didn’t track in such detail back then so don’t know for sure but it was so frustrating.

Catconfusion · 01/07/2019 10:54

@bananamonkey that’s a lovely part of the city. I lived that side for a bit.

I didn’t realise you’d had long cycles before. Is it something you’ve always had? All you can do is try not to let it get to you and have faith it’ll happen. Sadly keeping up the dtd is the only way to make sure you catch. The fertility nurse from Ovusense said every few days is fine. She thinks every other day is excessive. You can also use some cheap opks and see if you get another peak. I really hope it happens soon.

@sadtoday21 it’s a slippery slope with temping isn’t it!? I have seriously let my chart affect my mental health before and now I just want to continue getting my life back. It’s hard though wanting something so bad and having very little control. The way I’m beginning to see it is stepping back is in a way of control as I’m sure the chances are better. Your chart looks great so hopefully this is it for you! Xx
