Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

@Catconfusion I totally agree, I told her to not settle. Dating is hard these days! You sound like you have a very supportive OH, mines was the one who asked if we could start TTC which shocked me at the time! He said to me this morning he’s cleared his schedule next weekend because he’s determined to get me pregnant which I found hilarious 😂 what a sweetheart! I never even told him it should be my fertile window I found out he’s been reading up on fertility and how to concieve!

Catconfusion · 20/06/2019 08:37

No offence taken @MrsMGE just PCOS is complicated and unpredictable. Stress can make it worse but I don't think it's that on this occasion. I ovulated on day 14 the month we moved which was crazy stressful. Also the last two months I've ovulated when I was still very shaken after the miscarriages. There's something else going on in my opinion. I've been looking at Zita West supplements and they have all the good stuff in but slight lower doses so might be better.

I'm sorry to hear you found out you should have been on more folic acid. I heard folate forms of it are better for blood clotting gene. It's so difficult to know before a first pregnancy what to take when you're not sure what the complications might be. I really feel for ladies who've had mc after mc and something simple might have prevented it.

I'm sure we'll all get there eventually and I haven't lost hope completely. Coming from a family where my Mum and Sister needed fertility treatments the obstacles I always feared would be there are there in full force. I also have the added complication of age. Nether the less we will continue and see what happens xx

@Kiki061190 dating is sooo hard, especially if it's time sensitive and you want kids. I was so lucky to meet DH 18 months ago. Your OH sounds lovely too. I love it when they get involved and research stuff. My DH has been sending me info about a new pre natal I could try. Love him! Xx

sadtoday21 · 20/06/2019 10:01

My chart looks like yours @bananamonkey and somehow I’m two days ahead of you this cycle? I broke down and did some charting today and my temp is crazy low. It looks to me like you will O earlier this month and your cycle is back on track!

@Catconfusion I totally support you taking a break from temping/ttc and getting your life back! It’s easier said than done because you want this so much and time isn’t on your side, but it’s way too stressful waiting for O each month as well. Maybe you should take a short break to clear your mind and then start again - I agree with @Kiki061190 that it always happens when you don’t expect it! I’m also going to stop thinking about it and temping if I don’t confirm in the next few days - it messes with your mind! I definitely can’t do it in the tww anymore.

@sadtoday21 the TWW is just horrendous! I’m following suit with you ladies and just having a laid back approach this month, if it is meant to happen it will happen!

sadtoday21 · 20/06/2019 10:14

@Kiki061190 your OH sounds amazing! I wish mine were so involved. I practically begged him to reschedule his flight so it wouldn’t be in my fertile week and he looked at me like I was crazy! He really wants a baby too but I think he feels everything will happen when it should, naturally. I’m more type A personality and would love it if he blocked his calendar off in my fertile week! I’ve just started leaving the smiley OPK sticks in the bathroom in the morning and he seems to get the hint 😂.

@sadtoday21 he is a complete sweetheart! I’m very lucky to have him. He’s very excited about being a father, such a family man. He’s convinced we’ll be pregnant before we go on holiday at the beginning of September. I think he’s made it his mission!

Catconfusion · 20/06/2019 11:40

@Kiki061190 I love it! I am very blessed too! It's tough for guys generally though. I never thought I'd meet someone like DH.

Kiki061190 · 20/06/2019 14:18

I’m excited for us ladies! Feeling positive the laid back approach will work for us ♥️

BabyPending · 20/06/2019 15:57

Agreed! I'm going for the same approach for the first couple of months - I have a few things planned over the summer and I think my body could do with a break from the obsession! My OH can also do with a break from being woken up from the beeping of my thermometer, he is ready to throw it out the window haha!!

Here's hoping I stick to what I'm saying...lol.

Good luck ladies xxx

Catconfusion · 20/06/2019 16:20

We'll be like the cool girls of the ttc world 😎 xx

Catconfusion · 21/06/2019 11:43

How is everyone today?

So it looks as if I have ovulated but my post o temps are only just above the cover line. I'm also spotting again. It's really confusing! I guess I just need to wait it out. Hopefully at least il be able to go on to a fresh cycle without waiting out the usual 16 day LP xx

Catconfusion · 21/06/2019 11:44

How are your charts looking @bananamonkey and @sadtoday21 ? Xx

sadtoday21 · 21/06/2019 12:05

yay @Catconfusion!! I would call it an O and forget about the spotting. You've covered all the bases and its looking good - fingers crossed for a bfp this month or at least a regular cycle!!

I've got a large rise today too - from 36 to 36.5! So back up near the coverline but not above it yet. But I definitely didn't take the temp at the same time as yesterday, so who knows. I realised I always seem to have 6 days of EWCM before Oing on the last or second to last day and I am on day 5 of EWCM now. I hope O comes soon! But totally trying to be cool about it hahaha I'm so not cool! Even if it does come, very little chance this month from 1 bding session in fertile week, so I'm just going to relax and enjoy the sunshine today!

Catconfusion · 21/06/2019 12:12

Thanks @sadtoday21 but just not hopeful. I guess you never know but this is an odd cycle. I can't upload my chart but it's not like anything I've had before.

I still think you're in with a good chance. That's a big rise and could potentially be O. The weather is pleasant today for sure. I'm focusing on that too! Xx

SunStruck · 21/06/2019 12:25

Hi all, how are things going? I've taken a slight break after my last post because I had a D&C and now just waiting for my period to start again!

So I went to the hospital yesterday just for a follow up scan (D&C was 3 weeks ago), and the Midwife said that I had some blood clots (small bits of retained product) left, and that my period should start in a week or so and that the retained products should come out with that. I haven't been bleeding at all since the D&C.

Is it common to have some retained products and did it come out naturally for you guys? The Dr who did the D&C did say that she wouldn't scrape me too much to not damage my uterus as we want to try again ASAP, and that she would let a small amount come out naturally.

I'm just hoping period will start soon and I will be all clear, I can't bear thinking about it I need to do another D&C 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I just want this to be over so we can start again!!!

Jealous of all of you trying again and I'm really rooting for sticky beans for all of you 😄

Kiki061190 · 21/06/2019 13:47

@SunStruck I had some retained product from my medical managed miscarriage but I bled it out on my own a week later. I think it’s quite common that it’ll just come out with your AF. Mines took 38 days to come post medical management but I bled for 12 days after. On day 5 of my cycle now tho!

SunStruck · 22/06/2019 08:53

@Kiki061190 oh thanks for responding, I'm so happy for you that all is back to normal! I'm really sorry for your loss too. Yeah fingers crossed I bleed it out 😄

Never wished for a period so much in my life 😂

MrsMGE · 22/06/2019 09:23

I survived my first week back in work (well, 3 days technically as I returned on Weds). Today I woke up and for the first time ever, went for a run to clear my head. AND I enjoyed it! Now, this never happened to me before. Only 1.5 miles but hey, I genuinely hated running all my life.

It's interesting how in tough times, your approach changes and you do whatever feels right to keep yourself on track and ease your mind a bit.

Have a good day ladies Flowers

Kiki061190 · 22/06/2019 12:19

@SunStruck I was the exact same, when my AF came I was delighted! Never been so happy to have it in my life!

@MrsMGE amazing! I feel like so many of the ladies on here have been super positive this week!

MrsMGE · 22/06/2019 14:28

@Kiki061190 Thanks Smile I'm feeling a lot better tbh. I've been out, in the sunshine, had a nice healthy lunch, had cuddles with my cat & dog and I feel more human. Gonna make myself a home spa tonight, do my nails and stuff. I feel that holding on to those little happy glimmers of hope in life helps to avoid that horrible supermassive black hole after losing your baby. And we all have to live with the loss, so we gotta work out how to do this. I was very low initially due to my grief and didn't think I wanted to live, but the fact I have people in my life that I love has stopped me from finishing things. I couldn't bear the thought I'd do something to upset them. Anyway. I hope I'll never feel this way again and will navigate through my grief best I can.

Technical question, and sorry if it's TMI. I stopped bleeding after the miscarriage (medically managed) for 2 days, today for some reason I'm spotting again, possibly due to exercise. Is this normal? It's been 10 days since now.

Second question. I was told to take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after medical management. That's a long time. My bleeding is stopping and I kind of would like to have a little tete-a-tete with DH. Don't particularly want to wait another 11 days or even longer though. Frank question: how long did you wait?

Kiki061190 · 22/06/2019 16:40

@MrsMGE the bleeding could be cause of exercise, I wouldn’t worry too much!

I waited 12 days after mmc when the bleeding stopped to start dtd with my OH 😊

Catconfusion · 22/06/2019 17:33

@MrsMGE I'd say dtd whenever you feel comfortable but maybe use protection until you get a negative pregnancy test. I think it's just in case there's some tissue left which could affect the outcome of a future pregnancy. Also if you were to get pregnant again it would be difficult to know if it's a new one if you hadn't had a negative test first.

Fingers crossed @SunStruck for everything to come away with AF.

So it's looking like I maybe didn't ovulate. I'm still spotting and have very sharp one-sided pain. I will go to the doctor early next week if it doesn't die down as could be a cyst. This is the most confusing chart to date. I'd hoped they'd get better but unfortunately not. The way I'm looking at it is my body is doing what it needs to do to sort itself out. We'll hopefully have the fertility appointment soon to get some support. xx

FF is still saying I did ovulate, though Ovusense has removed the ovulation window.

Catconfusion · 23/06/2019 08:00

So it was anovulatory after all that. AF just came 6 days after I thought I ovulated. I'm gutted but at least I can get on with the next cycle now. I guess its the first anovulatory one I've had since I started temping last August so it was bound to happen, especially after two pregnancy losses. At least I can have a drink on my 40th birthday in exactly a week. xx
