Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

Hi ladies how are we all today?

@Catconfusion how did the hair go?

@sadtoday21 hope you’re doing ok! Did you find anything that could help delay O next cycle?

@Rainbow8bubbles hope you’re doing ok ♥️

@Amanda81 you’re almost at the end of your first trimester! How exciting 💗

Huge temp rise today! I’m actually not sure how temping goes, does it go high then back down when AF is due?

@Kiki061190 - erm, your chart is looking pretty good...for a +HPT! Don't want to get your hopes up though. How are you feeling?

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow 😬😬😬 starting to sink in a little now.

Kiki061190 · 12/06/2019 08:33

@Amanda81 I’m only 5 weeks post mmc, just waiting on AF. I have no idea how to read these charts! What are you seeing on the chart? I’m new to this so just winging it day by day!

That is so exciting! Are you going to find out what you’re having? Do you have any preference? You’ll have a baby for xmas, that is just so lovely! 💗

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 09:16

@Kiki061190 well this is exciting. Your temp has gone up again which could indicate a new pregnancy. You’re highly fertile after mc so unless you’ve used contraception there’s always the chance of getting pregnant again. I really hope you are and it sticks!

The hair dye didn’t work. We used colour remover to get a blonde colour and then the grey dye took me back to a medium brown 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m going to book in a salon I think and get it done properly.

No O from me as yet and cd 34. I’m now at the doctors to see if I can get some support with this.

Congratulations @Amanda81 on being 12 weeks pregnant. It’s so exciting and I’m really pleased you’re doing so well! Xx

Kiki061190 · 12/06/2019 09:27

@Catconfusion I really hope you get the support from the doctors because this is unfair on you!

There is a woman in my work who used something called clomid? I’m so new to all this stuff so I’m not even sure what clomid does but she used to for ovulation. She’s on her third pregnancy after 2 mc one after the other and she’s currently 10 weeks!

Sorry about the hair, I’m sure it’ll all be worth it after you take a trip to the salon. I love getting my colour done!

Kiki061190 · 12/06/2019 09:30

Also this is my first month temping so I’m unsure about what a chart is supposed to look like through the month. My app is saying AF is due Monday so that’s a good sign for me. Looking forward to getting this post mmc cycle out the way and starting again.

I don’t really feel any difference just maybe some cramping but nothing that would make me think I have conceived again. I remember knowing last time I was pregnant around 4/5 days before AF was due. I had a tiny bit of red blood and I had the sore boobs! None of that just now so for me I’m pretty sure I’ll see AF soon ☺️

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 09:42

@Kiki061190 I guess just see how you get on. Every pregnancy is different and sometimes there are no symptoms. It’s good that either way you’re moving on from your mmc with AF or BFP. Looking at your chart I wouldn’t rule out a bfp until AF or negative test. It’s looking very promising.

Yes clomid is good if no ovulation. I’m not sure I’d get it just yet as I do ovulate on my own just late in my cycle. It’s something I’ll be asking the doctor about. I hope we get some support too as it’s pretty exhausting. Xx

Amanda81 · 12/06/2019 09:46

Hey @Kiki061190 - sorry for the long pause, just travelled over to a meeting. As a way of a quick explanation, progesterone should be roughly at its highest at around 7 days post Ovulation. Increases in temp after this time period may suggest another pregnancy as progesterone is rising, it may of course not. Have you got a cold or have you had any alcohol, as these may also raise your temp. It could also be that your hormones are just doing what they would usually do. In any case, your temps look really good and indicates a good level of progesterone at the right time in your cycle which is good for any future pregnancy. So looking forward to the next few days for you xx

We will be finding out, hopefully next week when we get the harmony results back. My NHS 12 wk scan is next Tuesday. Although I saw baby on Monday this week and all was fine, I am still dreading next week. I'm sure we will all feel the same when we all get there.

Sorry to hear that O hasn't happened yet @Catconfusion - so bloody frustrated for you. Don't you have a GP appointment coming up soon? Hopefully the salon can make your hair right xx

Kiki061190 · 12/06/2019 09:48

@Amanda81 thanks so much that actually really helps because I’m not actually sure what’s normal on a temp chart.

No I’ve not been unwell and I don’t drink so isn’t any of those. I do sleep quite light but have been taking my temps as soon as I wake first before I get out of bed.

That’s so exciting. Once you have a gender it will be so much more real for you ♥️

Kiki061190 · 12/06/2019 09:55

@Catconfusion I know I say it a lot but I do think you are very strong. An unpredictable cycle must be hard, it’s such a long period to keep BD through the month as much as possible. I hope it’s all good news for you soon and you get that sticky BFP.

I’m so happy to put this mmc past me. If AF comes I’ll be very happy and if not I’ll maybe be a bit nervous. I haven’t been TTC again yet. I never got a proper positive opk so I assumed O hadn’t happened yet. I’m still learning all of this so I just assumed I probably wouldn’t ovulate this cycle. This is my first chart so I don’t have anything to really compare it to so I can see if this is normal for me.

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 11:15

For once the doctor was really good.

We now have a fertility referral in the next few months. She’s still confident I might just conceive naturally as I do ovulate but at least we have a backup plan.

My blood test results were apparently very good. There’s no sign of Peri menopause or hormonal issues. I probably have very low level that’s not showing in my blood. Sometimes an irregular cycle is the only sign.

She’s recommended a low carb diet which I’m pretty much doing anyway.

DH is happy, apparently he has super sperm. His motility was double the normal amount so they are speedy little buggers. He is a runner after all.

I talked to her about my moods being very up and down. She thinks this is a reactive depression due to the mmc and part of my mind coming to terms with it. The hormones make it feel worse but nothing wrong with them as such. She just reassured me it will get better, especially with a new healthy pregnancy.

All in all I’m feeling much better! Xx

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 11:54

I meant *low level pcos not showing in my blood.

Kiki061190 · 12/06/2019 12:54

@Catconfusion so glad the doctor was helpful!

She seems really positive and crossing fingers that you have a sticky one soon ♥️

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 13:09

Thanks so much @Kiki061190

Fingers crossed for us both and the rest of the group. Xx

zoomies1 · 12/06/2019 20:37

@catconfusion, sounds like things have been tough recently so I’m glad your appointment went well. Hopefully she’s right and you’ll have a sticky bean soon.

@Kiki061190 your chart is looking very positive so fingers crossed for you!

I am feeling really tired and generally rubbish. I was really suspicious that I managed to get pregnant last month but I had a big temp drop and AF so I may just have been overly optimistic but it has played on my mind in case it is related to a post ERPC thin lining. What do you guys think? Normally my temps go up and down, this was consistently up but by small increments.

Meant to ask could this have been a ‘chemical’ because it couldn’t implant? I know, Chrystal ball time...

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 20:54

@zoomies1 it’s provably best not to worry about your last cycle. Your chart looks normal to me. The drop before AF can happen very late on. Without a positive test it’s impossible to know if there was another very early pregnancy. Apparently as many as 80% of fertilised embryos don’t implant so it’s very common to have a fertilised egg that doesn’t progress, even if you’ve not just had an ERPC. When I had my chemical pregnancy straight after my mmc I dwelled so much on it being a lining issue and that the baby might have been otherwise healthy. It was a waste of brain power as it’s impossible to say and it didn’t help my mental state.

It’s good you’ve had AF now and shed the lining and its likely to be back to normal. Hopefully this cycle will be the one for you! Xx

zoomies1 · 12/06/2019 20:59

Thanks @catconfusion. I know you’re right. I deliberately didn’t test to avoid disappointment and now I wish I had. But I should do as you say and just keep looking forward. xx

Catconfusion · 12/06/2019 21:01

It’s very difficult to say without a positive test as chemical pregnancies are very common. I got the positive test on day 9 and a darker line on the next one on day 11. I felt very nauseous and was getting lots of symptoms. On day 14 the test was negative and the bleeding started on day 16. As I said try not to worry about your last cycle. Xx

Kiki061190 · 13/06/2019 06:58

@zoomies1 quite a few ladies on here have had an experience with a chemical pregnancy. Don’t let it get you down, a new AF is a new chance to start TTC. Hopefully this cycle is the one for you 💗

Catconfusion · 13/06/2019 08:20

Definitely @Kiki061190 it’s just do common. I have to say it was harder on me mentally than physically. Although my cycles have been crazy long since it happened.

Well fingers crossed it looking like I’m ovulating. I have two temp rises and had some twinges yesterday. We dtd last night just in case. I’m just keeping super chilled in case it’s another failed one. Xx

Kiki061190 · 13/06/2019 08:25

@Catconfusion yay! Fingers crossed for you and you’ve timed dtd well 😊

I messed up my temping this morning. Got up at 5 to go to the loo and forgot I should have temped then as I only went back to sleep for an hour!
