Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

@bananamonkey I really hope that is not the case. Have you taken another hpt to check hcg levels? I know some ladies get spotting in early pregnancy, so hopefully its just a sign of the egg getting comfy. Thinking of you xxx.

@Amanda81 wow, I'm so amazed that you are 11 weeks already. I know the anxiety never really goes away, even after all the scans. I'm sure symptoms coming and going is really normal though - I barely even had any at all with mine. Everything crossed for the scan next week!!!

Oh no @bananamonkey hopefully just implantation. Thinking of you! Xx

Kiki061190 · 08/06/2019 20:32

@bananamonkey I know easier said than done but don’t let the spotting upset you! I had 3 days straight of really noticeable brown and pink discharge and I was convinced it was all over but it wasn’t! Sending love your way 💗

AF just came :(. 28 day cycle for once. Definitely going to miss O next month now...

Negative tests this morning, just hoping this doesn’t mean yet another messed up/anovulatory cycle Sad

Kiki061190 · 09/06/2019 08:55

@bananamonkey so sorry this has happened to you! It just messes with your head! I don’t know much about chemical pregnancies but hoping your cycle goes back to normal if this is the case.

@sadtoday21 so sorry AF has shown up earlier than you wanted. Crossing fingers for a late O for you!

I’ve stopped the ovulation tests, couldn’t bring myself to do another CB opk this morning. We had such a lovely night together last night, he took me out for a lovely dinner down by the water and then we had a lovely walk. Been having cramp and i don’t know how to describe it but twinges mostly in my right side for days now so hoping it’s a sign AF is en route!

Here’s today’s chart!

Oh no @bananamonkey. I’m so sorry this has happened. It’s just cruel! Hopefully your body will recover quicker as a bit further away from the mmc. Sending hugs! Xxx

sadtoday21 · 09/06/2019 10:26

I'm so sorry @bananamonkey, there are no words for how cruel this is. Take care of yourself and try to relax as much as possible. Thinking of you and sending you hugs xxx.

Amanda81 · 09/06/2019 10:36

I can't believe it @bananamonkey - it's just not fair! I really hope that your body snaps back into ovulation mode after AF turns up. From what I understand about CPs is that the norm is that they shouldn't impact your usual cycle. I am so sorry 😐 sending you hugs xx

bananamonkey · 09/06/2019 10:53

Thanks all, we’re both pretty gutted but I was expecting it x

Q. I only have 4 CB sticks left from last time so I need to buy a new pack, do I have to buy the pack with a new tester again? I know you can’t change the tester part way through a cycle but it seems like such a waste not to reuse the previous one. Although I can’t seem to find them separately online. So bloody expensive too.

Kiki061190 · 09/06/2019 11:45

@bananamonkey it’s crazy you have to buy the whole new kit! I’ve heard people say they keep using the original tester as it gets used to your hormones? Worth checking to see if anyone has any good deals on to save some cash x

3204ECL · 09/06/2019 12:27

@bananamonkey I'm so so sorry. This really is unfair. Thinking of you and hoping you're ok xxx

Kiki061190 · 10/06/2019 07:32

Good morning ladies!

How are we all today?

My temps seem to be steady so crossing fingers for AF next week! Chart currently putting me at 7dpo.

Catconfusion · 10/06/2019 08:00

Hi @kiki061190, your chart looks very good. Fingers crossed for AF.

I went to a party on Saturday night and was very nervous as one of DHs friends is as pregnant as I would have been and was there. It was quite a shock to see roughly how big I would be by now. We said hello but she only stayed for half and hour after she dropped her husband off. It didn’t upset me too much and I ended up having a very well needed few drinks with DH. There were quite a few people there still single at 40 so I felt very grateful to have got together with DH last year and at least have the chance of starting a family albeit at 40 years old.

We’re planning our joint 40th birthday party and I’m also dying my hair grey for my birthday. Sounds extreme I know but I went grey at 15 and fancy embracing it. It’s also really fashionable at the moment. All these things are taking my mind off our situation and the delayed O.

I didn’t temp when away but my temp today looks low and pre O so expecting it to happen in the next few days. We’re actually getting used to dtd every other day now which takes the pressure off with the temping. I might in future just use Ovusense once a week to see if I’m at the post O temp. It’s easy to become obsessed with the chart during long irregular cycles and I don’t want to be that person.

I hope you’re all ok today. Thinking of you especially @bananamonkey and absolutely gutted for you! Xx

Rainbow8bubbles · 10/06/2019 08:44

I hav been lurking. I'm still struggling. I last posted a week ago and since then I have had my first AF since MC so that's fine then had a lovely week away for my birthday. So I'm due to go back to work after annual leave tomorrow and I'm dreading it. My anxiety sucks. I know the idea of something is always worse then the actual day will be. I had my birthday on Saturday so that was fun lol. I'm now 30 ah. I just feel lost, heavy ,sad and I have to wait another AF before I can try again. I just want to feel better

Kiki061190 · 10/06/2019 11:39

@catconfusion it’s great you took a couple of days of temping. You’ll feel better for it! I had a whole weekend with OH and we just spent quality time together which was lovely. We are in a habit of dtd around 4x a week pre pregnancy so we just carry on like normal. I don’t think we need to up it for next cycle when we start TTC again fingers crossed!

@Rainbow8bubbles I hope you’re ok! AF isn’t nice to see but at least you’ve got it out the way and can start TTC again. I’m cycle day 32 and hoping for AF in the next week or so!

Rainbow8bubbles · 10/06/2019 14:21

@Kiki061190 unfortunately I had a chemical so need to wait another month before I TTC

Kiki061190 · 10/06/2019 16:21

@Rainbow8bubbles so sorry! I never realised you had to wait a month after a chemical. Hope you’re doing ok, you’ll be back TTC soon ♥️

Rainbow8bubbles · 10/06/2019 16:27

@Kiki061190 well I had the chemical before my first period after the miscarriage so I guess my body needs time to heal

Amanda81 · 10/06/2019 19:04

@Catconfusion pleased you had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed the party. Your plans for embracing grey sounds great! You are braver than me! I am like you where I also started to go grey very young at 16. Also your plans with temping going forward seem like a very good idea, like you say the long cycles must get to you and finding a way to manage the low points has to be explored. I hope it works for you xxx

Catconfusion · 10/06/2019 19:26

@Amanda81 we’re doing it this evening so I’ll let you know how it goes. I’m currently waiting for the colour remover to finish and then we’re putting on the grey dye. It’s a darker smoky grey but should lighten a bit. I’m just fed up with 25 years of dying hair. You never know I might not like it. We’ll soon see I guess!

When I fell pregnant I’d just used the sensor enough to know if had a temp shift. I still want to know roughly when I ovulated to help date a pregnancy but this staring at charts isn’t doing me any good.

A friend of DHs at the party said his wife is pregnant and they’ve been trying for seven years since their son was born. He swears it was when she stopped temping and monitoring that it happened. I’m determined to chill out and not let it stress me so much! Xx

Kiki061190 · 10/06/2019 20:29

@catconfusion that’s a really positive mindset to be in. Sometimes when you’re not thinking about it then it just happens! All this can be a bit overwhelming. When I first came off the pill in beginning of March I found out I was pregnant 3.5 weeks later. I hadn’t tested any ovulation or temped. This time I’ve started tempting to try and predict when AF will come. Hoping to follow your lead and go back to seeing what happens once AF comes. Sometimes this whole process sucks the fun out of things if that makes sense.

Amanda81 · 10/06/2019 20:34

I must admit to not missing temping, and it's not only now that I've stopped I have realised it did consume me. It was useful to understand my cycles more for sure, but there is a line where it gets too much xx

bananamonkey · 11/06/2019 10:50

Good morning all, how is everyone?

Sorry you’re feeling anxious @Rainbow8bubbles but glad you had a good birthday, hope being back at work is ok.

I felt quite ill on Sunday but feeling much better now, AF started on Sunday but seems to be trailing off already which I’m hoping is a good sign for a normal cycle this month. I’ve treated myself to some real coffees, ate a giant chocolate bar, had a really good weights session and am focusing on my holiday in a couple of weeks, trying to stay positive! Good vibes to everyone x x

Kiki061190 · 11/06/2019 11:17

@bananamonkey fingers crossed for a good cycle for you!

I’m currently sitting 8dpo and AF predicted for Monday which I’m excited for! First AF since mc and looking forward to trying again 😊
