Hi ladies! Our last thread was automatically closed (again) because we reached the 1,000 post limit (twice!). I was hoping we would be able to start a new thread called First Pregnancy Post-MMC, but unfortunately we are not all quite there yet (BUT some of us are!! congrats!!!). I know we will all be pregnant someday soon and that this will end up being a lucky thread! In the meantime, I hope you will all join me as we continue on this journey together. You have all been an invaluable source of inspiration, support, and kindness for me and I want to thank you for making me feel less alone in this. This thread and the ladies on it have been a source of inspiration for me, which is why I created this blog to help other women find information and support after miscarriage: mcandbeyond.weebly.com/

About me, for any newcomers: 31 years old, first pregnancy ended in an MMC in February at 12 weeks (baby passed at nine), D&C the next day, found out five weeks later that it was a partial molar pregnancy and had follow-up with CX hospital until mid-May. Second early MC in April (we weren't supposed to be getting pregnant because of the molar, but didn't know about it at the time). Now TTC again nearly four months after the first MMC and so so ready for a baby!

@Amanda81 I don't think so. I've not really had more than one for a while though. I've certainly not drank much near O. Good to hear it's not affected you before. I certainly feel like I have but then I've felt that before and It's failed. Irregular cycles just cause so much distrust in what the body is doing. Hopefully this is it. We've timed dtd well so it's a waiting game. Today it really felt like we dtd just for fun which I haven't really felt in a while so generally our spirits are high. I even feel like I could deal with a bfn. In a couple of weeks I'm sure I'll feel differently but for now I'm looking forward to work tomorrow and just generally more chilled out after our break away! Xx

Kiki061190 · 04/06/2019 21:48

@catconfusion so happy you seem to be in much higher spirits! Your chart looks fab 💗 you defo timed dtd perfectly

Amanda81 · 05/06/2019 05:40

Morning @Catconfusion - I think you handle the irregular cycles very well. I can only relate to the feeling of not knowing what was going on after the MMC. The constant not knowing and feeling out of control. Like I said, you manage it amazingly and do far better than I would. So pleased to hear you are looking forward to work, have things picked up a little with work? I hope the temp has a steady incline today xxx

Catconfusion · 05/06/2019 05:50

Unfortunately ladies I spoke too soon. Unless this is a fallback rise it's looking like another failed one 😞. I really can't believe it!

Thanks @Amanda81 I guess my cycles have been like this my whole life so I always knew it would be tricky. That's why falling pregnant straight away was a shock. It's so annoying though to think I now have another week until I hopefully can try again. If that's unsuccessful then 17 day luteal phase plus another 4/5 weeks until I ovulate again. I've got everything crossed it's a fallback rise.

Work is picking up a bit thanks. I still don't really have as much work as I'd like but I'm feeling more confident so will get networking soon. Xx

So here is the chart...

Kiki061190 · 05/06/2019 07:01

@catconfusion sorry for the dip! I can’t even begin to imagine how frustrating this must be for you!

I’m day 26 and still no peak 😂 starting to think O will never happen! Another flashy smiley this morning but just staying positive and going to try and forget about it.

Kiki061190 · 05/06/2019 07:38

Forgot to say on a plus ladies, my midwife gave me a pregnancy test to take today and it is negative! Now just the wait for AF...

Kiki061190 · 05/06/2019 08:04

Scratch that ladies, there’s a faint line on there. 4 weeks since my medical miscarriage. Absolutely gutted!

bananamonkey · 05/06/2019 14:07

Ah sorry @Kiki061190, the same happened to me, the faintest of lines but I knew it was there. In my case I rang the EPU and they let me come in for a test on their machine that is definitive. Did the MW say to call her if still positive?

Sorry @Catconfusion, I have no idea about the technicalities of fall back rises but that must be disappointing, hope you can still enjoy your time away x

What a lovely result from your scan @Amanda81 Smile

Hope the nausea isn’t too bad @3204ECL, great that you can see the Dr. on Monday, hope you can get some support with early scans etc.

Still waiting for AF here, 13 dpo, had some cramping yesterday so though that was it but nothing, I want to get it over and done with! Hmm My temp went up today so maybe that means it’s close?

Kiki061190 · 05/06/2019 14:39

@bananamonkey she did say to call but they are so hard to get a hold of and I can’t answer calls at work. So hard! How long did you get a positive for?

bananamonkey · 05/06/2019 15:01

@Kiki061190 I think it was about 4.5 weeks as the advice they gave me was to call if still positive after about 3 weeks (from the surgery) but I gave it a bit longer.

Applecidervinegars · 05/06/2019 17:27

Hello everyone just checking in after a quiet week or so from my side. AF came sunday night / Monday morning which is the first since MC and makes it about 5 weeks 2 days since MC (ovulation took place at around day 23 of that 37 day cycle) I just noted these timings because it's all a first since MC and curious to see what the next few months will bring. Before MC it was a regular 28 day cycle, so hoping it won't be too unpredictable but I know to expect it probably will.

It was definitely a heavier period than normal and that tally-ed up with there being some small excess clots still left to pass (as seen on my post MC scan). Apparently this is quite common with a natural MC.

I feel well and excited to start TTC again in the coming weeks. Dropped a fortune in boots yesterday on ovulation test kit, pre-seed and first response pre tests! We live in the countryside, so I thought I'd just stock up on everything whilst in there!

@sadtoday21 sorry you have had such a rubbish week. I understand the bleakness of the really low days. It's a total shitter and all we can do is sit tight and weather the storm even though it can feel so hopeless. I read and really enjoyed your blog piece.

@Amanda81 such happy news from scan. Congrats and well done. So deeply hoping to be in that position one day soon!

@Kiki061190 a faint positive is annoying but hopefully you are almost there. Hopefully it will all be out of the system and plummeting to next to zero soon.

@catconfusion sending you all the best for continued tracking and hoping it. Fingers crossed for the coming week

all the best to everyone

Kiki061190 · 05/06/2019 17:49

@bananamonkey how long was it until you got your period? I’m cycle day 27 and I was gutted to see that faint positive!

bananamonkey · 05/06/2019 17:56

@Kiki061190 it was 6 weeks after the operation

Kiki061190 · 05/06/2019 18:02

@bananamonkey fingers crossed I’m the same. I think thatbtest just threw my emotions. Was glad to have work to distract me! Fingers crossed you get AF soon 😘

sadtoday21 · 05/06/2019 21:06

@Amanda81 I’m so so pleased to hear your news - that is amazing! Is it all starting to sink in now? Xxx

@Catconfusion that’s rubbish about O, but it’s not so low so very possibly the fall back rise. Hoping you get confirmation soon!

@Applecidervinagers congrats on your first AF post mmc! That’s amazing news. Here’s hoping for a new pregnancy soon! And thanks for checking out my blog post! It helped me to write I think and try to find the funnier side of all this.

@bananamonkey I envy your ability not to test! Hoping AF isn’t coming this month!

@Kiki061190 sorry to hear about the BFP still, it’s terrible to see that when you aren’t pregnant. It took me three weeks to get my bfn - you are almost there!

Well I don’t really have any news, just waiting to test again tomorrow and honestly just waiting for AF so I can get this cycle over with. I hope it doesn’t drag on too long! Trying to focus on work for the time being and not get too down, though I still am tbh. Hugs to all!

Hi ladies!

So Fertility Friend thinks I have already ovulated which is a bit of a head scratcher! I was waiting for a static on the clear blue but I only started testing Sunday and according to this, it thinks I ovulated Monday. Do yous think there’s any chance I started testing too late or this chart has picked it up wrong?

3204ECL · 06/06/2019 08:07

@Kiki061190 is you add your CB results to FF it might help. You can add high and peak under one of the extras somewhere!

@sadtoday21 nice to hear from you. When is AF due? Hope you are doing ok

@Applecidervinegars my first AF after MMC was a bit stranrge and heavy but then spotted forever. Second was much mor normal but then still spotted, then third was normal again. Great news AF is here for you, I remember feeling a real sense of relief. Hope this cycle goes well for you

@bananamonkey Any sign of AF? When are you due?

@Catconfusion So sorry about O 🙄. How are things looking this morning?

Love to all xxx

Catconfusion · 06/06/2019 08:08

Thanks @sadtoday21 but not a fallback rise. It's so frustrating. I'm a good month into this cycle with no O. I keep getting tugging pains in my ovary which is annoying as it really feels like it's happening. I just hope I'm not getting cysts again. I'm seeing the doctor next week and I think I'm going to push for a gynae referral.

@sadtoday21 I really hope you get good news today, if not AF comes. I'm so sorry it's not liking like a bfp. Xx

@Kiki061190 I have to say I do wonder if the CB miss the LH surge due to FMU testing. Whenever I've caught it on cheapies it's been afternoon/evening. It definitely looks like you ovulated to me. Xx

@Applecidervinegars Great news about AF. Hope it's out the way quickly so you can get on with trying again. Xx

@bananamonkey I think I'd be inclined to test at this point. Your chart looks great! Xx

How are you feeling @Amanda81 Xx

Catconfusion · 06/06/2019 08:11

Hey @3204ECL sorry we cross posted. It's not good unfortunately. My body baffles me! Sometimes I feel like the only way we can catch is to just dtd every other day for 4/5 weeks and stop the tracking because it's really upsetting to see my body fail. Here is today's chart. Xx

First Pregnancy Missed Miscarriage (Part III)
Kiki061190 · 06/06/2019 08:16

Thanks ladies! I added the clear blue results in but the chart didn’t change. Not sure if I got the clear blue monitor too late! Just confuses cause I had a faint positive on a preg test yesterday so thought ovulation was nowhere near close!

@catconfusion sorry there’s no O yet! You must be so frustrated!

@3204ECL how are you feeling this week? How did your OH react to your news? So exciting for you! Are you 4.5 weeks now?

Kiki061190 · 06/06/2019 08:18

@catconfusion we’re on the same day of our cycle!

Catconfusion · 06/06/2019 08:24

@Kiki061190 yes it's so annoying as we'd timed everything well. We both got really excited about it having happened a bit earlier this cycle. It was day 36 last time which is late for me. Before the two mcs it was usually day 20-30 with the odd day 14 so pretty irregular but not ridiculously long. I fear the doctor isn't going to offer much help. I'm seeing her next week. Xx

3204ECL · 06/06/2019 08:58

@Catconfusion I'm so sorry, you must be so frustrated 😔. I totally understand how it feels to get that let down and it's so hard but equally DTD everyday for that long also isn't sustainable! Have you used any OPKs as well? Maybe that might be a way to monitor instead of temping? Sending a big hug and hope O arrives soon.

@Kiki061190 when you get your peak and put that in to FF it will probably change its mind! I've had similar before and usually changes when you confirm peak on a CB. When are you planning to take another pregnancy test? Waiting for your BFN is soooooo bloody hard and upsetting but it sounds like it's heading in the right direction. I'm still feeling pretty nauseous and have been quite emotional but I'm doing ok thanks. I had to cancel a work trip today as I couldn't face the long drive first thing followed by a day at a smelly factory 🤢

Hope it's sunny where you all are xxx

Catconfusion · 06/06/2019 09:17

Thanks @3204ECL yes I tried the cheapies and the digital ones. I got peaks on the cheapie ones but false positives when it was going to fail so impossible to know if it's really happening or not. The clear blue ones are so expensive. I tried them this cycle but got 11 days of high and not even a peak with the failed ovulation. I wonder if my surge happens in the afternoon and it missed it or maybe a failed one isn't a strong enough surge.

You're right dtd every other day isn't sustainable. If we start later we might miss a rogue early one so day 12 to day 36 (my latest O so far) is needing to happen. We're going to put another good week in and hopefully it'll happen in that time. Mentally I feel stronger this cycle. Last cycle I got to the point of being tearful afterwards as I didn't really want to do it.

How are you feeling today? Xx

sadtoday21 · 06/06/2019 09:35

Thanks @3204ECL I hope you are doing ok too and coping with the anxiety of it all. What do you plan to do regarding the scans? Wishing you the best of luck xxx.

@Catconfusion I'm so sorry, this is really frustrating. I hope the doctor can offer some guidance or help with your long cycles.

@Kiki061190 the OPKs don't really work that well in the cycle after mc - I would trust FF and it does look like you O'd. You can still O with a some hcg in your system (if its very low like on a faint hpt).

Do you guys think your body gets back to normal more quickly after d&c, medical, or natural mc? Or that it doesn't matter? Just wondering about this for awhile, given all our different experiences.

I am officially out this month - another starkly clear BFN this am. I half expected it. I've also been thinking about my mum lately with the garden looking so beautiful (she loved gardening!) and then of course I also think about the mmc. On top of these losses and the emotions that come with them, I'm really stressed out. I have an important deadline related to my dissertation next week, so it's all feeling a bit too much right now. You know how everything seems to get you down at once sometimes? Anyway, I am going to drink a lot of coffee and just try to survive the next week. Hoping for AF to come on Tuesday and a very late O next month so DH will be back from his work trip in time. Take care everyone xxx.
