Hello ladies, can I please join in? I scanned through the thread (and the previous one briefly) and I see anything goes-investigations, accupuncture, herbal miracles...

I am vrry sorry for all your losses and congrats on the happy news!

I have just had my third miscarriage and so off went a referral letter to RMU. I am very hopeful they will find what is actually wrong as we both seem to be in good shape and health but cant believe this means we shoud not try to get pregnant until all the tests are done. I have no clue as to the timelime but pretty sure its quite long. I am terrified as I am getting older that age is wiping out my chances to ever have a baby (not that ild, just feeling dramatic this morning).

I have also done my homework on the empiric experiments like progesterone, NK cells etc, that actually seem to work in many cases even if all this evidence is not good enough for NHS. (I begged to be put on progesterone this last pregnancy when I starting briefly spotting at 4 weeks, both NHS and private refused due to lack of evidence it works; call me crazy but for some reason I still seem to think it would have helped)

That much for my introduction, currently crazy and heartbroken and restless in my bed after yesterday's erpc browsing endless websites. I hope to get a little support for today and I hope to be able to give lots of support to others on here in longer term Flowers

OneStep2015 · 10/07/2015 09:48

Brummie yes 25th is still ok for me thanks. X

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 10/07/2015 09:48

Hoping we can have an East Anglia meet with babies on Parkers Piece in Cambridge next year... if not then pub!!

I'm out this month... good luck everyone else in 2ww.

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 10/07/2015 09:53

casiopeia, welcome and so sorry you find yourself here.
I was convinced that I needed progesterone when I started spotting in first three miscarriages. Had it in fourth and it didn't make a difference.
So I think it works for some people but not others.
But hopefully the tests you have may shed some light. Flowers

OneStep2015 · 10/07/2015 10:00

Casio so sorry for your losses and to hear of your struggle. Glad you have found us. Concentrate on yourself and getting back to full strength and then ensure you get every bit of testing that you want done. Big hugs. Xxxx
I'm actually very very Angry to read that you begged for Progesterone and it was not given to you although I am sure there are others on here who have most probably been treated the same. My sister nearly lost her twins at 22wks a few years ago. She was transferred to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital where they put in a stitch but also gave her progesterone. They told her they thought it would help. Now if a hospital in 2012 is prescribing progesterone (I know my sister was quite far along in her pregnancy then) why are they STILL refusing to prescribe it to those ladies suffering RMC. Even if there isn't concrete evidence that it helps, something is better than nothing surely when it comes to RMC!!! I think after 2 mc they should prescribe it. I understand the NHS is a bit of a lottery, but very surprised that Private wouldn't prescribe it.

Marchgirl · 10/07/2015 10:05

Sorry to hear you're out this month biscuits Sad

Welcome casio, but so sorry you find yourself here. Hope you're doing as well as you can be after the erpc yesterday. Look after yourself and keep talking to us. Hope you get the referral through quickly. I would definitely suggest waiting at least until the rmc testing bloods have been sent away before trying again, so that you can rule out any of the basics. They normally say you need to be about 6 weeks post mc before you have the clotting bloods, but it varies. Whether you wait for the results is a hard one. Some of us have waited and some haven't, but I certainly found the enforced break good in hindsight (although not necessarily at the time!!!) If you get a positive on the clotting bloods they may ask you to be tested again 6 weeks later to confirm (although if you were already pg by then i would hope they would just treat you on the result of the first one).

There is a link to a spreadsheet that barking posted a few pages back that gives an overview of some of the tests that are available which you may find helpful. Some GPs might also agree to carry out some of the basic tests while you wait for your referral. In the meantime, feet up and boxsets at the ready xx

Frecklefire · 10/07/2015 10:06

Good luck for scans today ladies!

I feel a bit sick again today, (am only 9d post ov). I am doing a bit of an experiment and only taking a half doze of the prog (just 400 a day rather than 800) as i am wondering if my own levels of prog are good anyway this month due to all the sups i've been taking (and not stressed at work so cortisol isnt racing to send prog nose diving). I know it's NOT morning sickness (even if egg was fertilized last week it probably wouldn't have even implanted yet) but i do find it intetesting that prog levels could be high enough to make me feel nausia.

fififolle · 10/07/2015 10:09

Thank you for all your words of encouragement, my scan is at 1pm.
March things are looking good! So happy for you. I've been having Accupuncture too and my therapist can feel this difference in my pulse when I'm pg. I really do feel that it's helped me.
Casio welcome and I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through. Hopefully the RMC will be able to give you plenty of help and guidance. I really wouldn't worry about your age, there are plenty of us who are closer to 40 than 35 on here. Flowers

Genwah85 · 10/07/2015 10:12

Hi all, I've just come across from the response trial thread for a read, I'm so sorry that are so many people here :(
I'm currently 5 weeks pg and started trial earlier this week, but I'm petrified I've had to mcs this year already and I'm just waiting for it to happen again, how anyone can stay positive is amazing and would love some positivity thrown my way if anyone has any!

Congrats March!
Good luck to everyone else whatever stage you may be at xx

Marchgirl · 10/07/2015 10:46

Welcome gen, nice to see you over here. Lots of hand holding from me. We'll try and stay positive together. Just take a day at a time and try to plan lots to distract yourself

Good luck to those having scans - virtually handholding. Those first few moments are the scariest, but we will be thinking of you.

casio take time to heal, and feel free to vent to us all. I've only been on this thread a few days and it's a blessing.

I really wanted to do something normal and go to work today. But I've had more spotting. DH rang in for me and my boss told me to just ignore work. Its not going anywhere, and I'm what matters most. Bit of a relief.
Can Monday just hurry up and beu over now.

Marchgirl · 10/07/2015 11:26

Hi sasha. Great news on the eggs but sorry to hear your lining is thinner than they would like. I'm afraid i don't have any advice on thickening a thin lining, but hopefully someone else will be along shortly to advise. I have in my head that it's the oestrogen part of the cycle that thickens the lining but really not sure. Did they say there were things you could try this month to thicken it before implantation? Or would you have to wait until next month? Hopefully it's something you can work on now you know about it, but i can see how this feels like a massive blow. Again.Sad

MrsConfusion · 10/07/2015 11:29

Thanks for all the good wishes ladies. My scan went ok, saw a heartbeat (phew!!), next scan Tuesday 21st. Panic this morning when scan was cancelled due to DD's chicken pox then eventually reinstated after GP and other clinic doctor both confirmed it was ok as I had it ages 4. Hospital still want bloods to check chicken pox immunity so off to doctors.

Welcome Casio & gen, so sorry for your losses. These ladies know soooooo much!

march whispered congratulations! Crossings fingers and gingers and frankly everything for you

sasha just sending big hugs for your lining worries. I'm sure someone will have ideas soon on how to boost it. Try not to let lining worries cloud the good news on ovulation.

sebs thinking of you for your scan later, and of fifiolle too.

Sorry I can't make meet-up on 25th (another oxford on here) as we're away - have fun!

BifsWif · 10/07/2015 11:33

Stumbled across this thread in active and wanted to wish you all luck!

I'm currently holding my 7 week old DD, born after recurrent miscarriage, so never give up hope.

The only thing I did differently with her pregnancy was use progesterone suppositories until 20 weeks. I had to beg to get them but I'm convinced they worked. I had been on asprin previously and that alone didn't stop me miscarrying. Not sure what the cause of my losses were officially, my consultant appointment came through the week I got my BFP so they didn't do any tests.

I know how heartbreaking the losses are, and how cruel it is that they take all the joy and excitement for future pregnancies.

Best of luck to you all x

OneStep2015 · 10/07/2015 11:39

Just seem to remember you mentioning on your blog something about your womb lining, correct me if I'm wrong?

Marchgirl · 10/07/2015 11:56

Aw , thanks for sharing your story bifs. So lovely to hear good news stories and congratulations on your bundle of joy

Marchgirl · 10/07/2015 11:57

Well. I may have spoken too soon. Red strings when I wipe. Fuck. Not again.

Sunandrainbow · 10/07/2015 11:59

brummie - yes I'm still on for the 25th. Looking forward to it! x

mrsc - yay!!! Great news that the scan went well!

just - really hoping I start getting kicked soon Grin

sasha - how long ago did you have your last erpc hun? They measured my lining 2 months after my 3rd erpc and it was 3.6mm which they said was 'on the thin side'. And I assume is why I don't get pg for a couple of months after an erpc. However, the consulant said as I had been pg 3x in the past year, it was nothing to worry about. She also said that the research on lining thickness has been done in the context of ivf rather than natural conception. She said there was no research to suggest that once you are pg naturally, that a thin lining will cause miscarriage. Know that feeling of panic though when you hear that. x

BifsWif · 10/07/2015 12:05

My doctor told me the progesterone would thicken my lining and make it 'richer' - have they suggested Cyclogest to you? Could you discuss it with them?
