Hello. Hugs togirlie. I do hope the next scan surprises you but I know that limbo feeling and it's awful.

I think other scans sound quite positive so am hopeful on all your behalfs.

Are you going to poas tonight brummie or keep us in suspense until tomorrow morning Wink

Justonemoretime · 21/05/2015 10:07

Sun, a HB is a good sign. We'll hold some hope for you, even if you're not feeling hopeful.

Sasha, its hard when you get conflicting advice. I agree that clomid might help you get pg, but will it be a keeper? Go with the advice that matches with your gut feeling.

Jady, good luck today.

Brummie, fx for you poas, whichever way it goes. Get some Belgian chocolate icecream in to either celebrate or console yourself.

Scott is interested in bf, but not particularly effective at it, so the majority of his feed still has to go down the tube. Its my milk, tho, so at least he's getting the goodness from that. Spending lots of time in the pump room like a dairy cow.... He's getting there, slowly. Maybe another week in hospital, hopefully.

Jady77 · 21/05/2015 10:07

Sun hoping it's just late ovulation, it does sound like there's a good chance that's what it is.

Scan isn't until 3pm so will report back later. Keeping myself busy until then.

Brummie hoping it's a BFP for you today!!

Floweroct · 21/05/2015 10:28

sun sorry you didn't get all the reassurance you needed but will keep hoping for you

jady good luck for later

just glad that he's starting to take an interest in bf, he'll get there soon

Portmoon · 21/05/2015 10:31

Morning all. So I have never used Ovulation sticks, I am fairly text book in that I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate between day 10 and day 14. I cant pinpoint exact day but going by email I received from Coventry Im thinking I will have to start. Please tell me which kit you find easiest and best to use. And any tips on using them. Thanks
Best of luck for today Jady and to Brummie if you poas, fingers crossed big time.

Justonemoretime · 21/05/2015 10:46

I sent a message to Tommy's via their fb page saying that, whilst the research centre is brilliant, the wording in the email was insensitive. They've replied, apologised, and said they'll feed back to Tommy's HQ. #activist Wink

Hi port. If you don't mind spending a bit of cash then the clear blue digital ones (not the fertility monitor) are probably easiest, as you just get the little smiley. But they are super expensive and not everyone gets a peak. I buy the Internet cheapies (one step) from Amazon and find them really good and very cheap. Bit more faffy as you need to collect a sample and dip rather than just doing it midstream, but it's fine once you get used to it. I normally do them in the afternoon and avoid drinking anything for a few hours before to make the sample less diluted. Normally get a very faint mark or nothing for early cycle. Slightly darker mark coming up in the few days leading up,so you think that might be it, then actually get the really dark line the next day. Does depend on your surge though. Some people on here don't get much of a line at all

Catlover2014 · 21/05/2015 11:26

Sasha glad they aren't doing the just in case clomid route with you. I found it to be really evil on my hormones and had a suspect early mc on it. I think clomid is only beneficial for classic PCOS and even then probably only when done in conjunction with follicle tracking.

Hugs to you sun, it so hard being in the dark. With the BFP being so soon after your mc there is a good chance your dates will be out and I will keep everything crossed for you. I think this early on a hb is a very good sign and it's worth noting that very early measurements are often inaccurate and or varied anyway.

Not long until your dating scan then MrsD and I'm pleased you'll go private if you'd like some reassurance. As I've said before it was a big help for me.

Waving hello to Just and little baby Scott. Glad to hear he's interested in bf, he will master it soon I'm sure and then you'll be home with your little bundle of joy. Is it true that bf hurts at first? Good work on the email to Tommy's by the way, they have worded things badly even though I am sure it's well meaning.

Moon I mostly use Superdrug's own ovulation sticks. I find them to be reliable and inexpensive by high street standards. You can order dip test strips online for much cheaper but I find POAS much easier than having to mess around with wee containers etc.

Sunandrainbow · 21/05/2015 11:29

Hi port - I have only used the clearblue digital ones. Personally I found them simple to use and always got a peak, although the number of 'high' days before peak did vary quite considerably from 5 to none, which can be a bit confusing, but after excessive googling seems quite common. They are pricey though. x

Sunandrainbow · 21/05/2015 11:31

Thanks cat x

Brummiegirl15 · 21/05/2015 11:44

Am scared of testing. Agonising over when to do it. Might do it tonight to just get over and done with but worried too early. Cd 21 and 12 dpo so maybe not

Sunandrainbow · 21/05/2015 11:54

hey brummie - if it is a bfp, do you have to start taking any meds? If so, I think I would be inclined to test early, so you have time to get them sorted. It is so horrid though as could be a bfn but just be too early... Keeping everything crossed, whichever way you decide to go! x

I think the universe is conspiring against me. There are four friends in my group from antenatal with dd. We were all trying for our second. Obv you know what I've been through and I've mentioned my friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer, so we are on the 'shit luck' side of the four. The other two both got pregnant. One had her baby on my last due date (not been able to bring myself to see her and the baby since). Now just heard that the other has had her baby today. On my due date again. Ffs. Another baby that is born on exactly the same date as mine should have been. A constant reminder of what I've lost. So upset that is happened today of all days. Any other day would have been difficult but today is just a real kick in the spuds. Just want to go home and cry

Brummiegirl15 · 21/05/2015 12:12

March I'm so upset for you xx that is shitty shitty timing. All of all the days xxx

Catlover2014 · 21/05/2015 12:42

Brummie 12dpo is boarder line and evening wee is never as good when testing early. If you do go for tonight try not to drink for a few hours before and 'store up' the wee for as long as you can. I'm keeping everything crossed it's a BFP for you.

Oh March that is truely crap and I am saddened to think of you feeling so upset. Remember that luck can and does turn around and I am sure your good times are ahead.

xxx

Sunandrainbow · 21/05/2015 12:46

Oh march - that is so shit. Can't help but feel someone, somewhere is taking the piss at times like these. Big hugs today x

bootles · 21/05/2015 13:10

Quick check in so sorry not to mention all..

girlie oh no..more limbo..my heart goes out to you, living with that uncertainty is so hard x

confused sounds like more limbo for you too, can't they see you in another week instead of making you wait 2? x

mrsd its so encouraging to hear when things are going well, thats great! x

jady hand holding

march its so cruel the way these things go with the timing, are you able to take tbe afternoon off if you are at work? Very much hoping your next pg is tbe one x

Here the line is stronger..have my parents staying and am hiding all signs of meds etc..feel 17 not 41 ffs...

Marchgirl · 21/05/2015 13:25

Glad the line is stronger bootles. I also have my mum staying this weekend. What a coincidence.

I know I'm being ridiculous putting so much emphasis on a date, but it feels like it's all I have left to remember it. Just want this bit to be over. I've gone home and had a good cry. At least I haven't got any significant dates coming up til July now. And all but two of my friends from various antenatal groups have had their babies now, so just those two then no more babies for a while. The next thing will be announcements for baby 3! That will be hard.

Thanks sasha. You've not made it worse. It's nice to have others that understand. I know I ought to get over myself and go and see these babies (and that's what I keep telling myself) but I'm just not ready yet. Hopefully I will be soon.

Bubblybubbles80 · 21/05/2015 14:13

i sometimes find see the babies better than thinking about seeing them, normally when i see my friends babies i feel so warm coming back. maybe a new baby in your laps sheds some dust :)

I'm still waiting for my hormone crash how long do you thing it will take to happen.

mrsdiddlydoo · 21/05/2015 14:24

march ffs. The universe can go and do one. I'm glad you've gone home. Hope you can find something to take your mind off things. In these situations I normally consume lots of Cake and Brew or Wine depending on circumstances. Thinking of you x

bakingtins · 21/05/2015 14:28

Good luck jady

sun continuing to keep fingers crossed for you. early scans are a bit of a double edged sword, not always as reassuring as you'd like.

march sorry about crappy timing. I hope the rest of the day is kinder to you.

sasha I would suggest when your homeopathist has published as many research papers as Prof Q then I'd take her opinion equally seriously. It is very frustrating that the experts disagree, but it's early days in this field of research. I suspect there are elements of truth in each of the approaches, and there isn't one solution for all RM. No doubt in another ten years there will be more of a consensus, but that's too late for most of us.
