Quick stop to say thinking of you today bubbles x

Justonemoretime · 19/05/2015 08:09

Thanks. Scott has it too easy; if he doesn't do it, his milk just goes down his feeding tube, so he doesn't get hungry. We're increasing the time between feeds to see if we can get him a bit hungrier...

Thinking of you today Bubbles

Jady77 · 19/05/2015 08:32

Minnie I went to Coventry CD23, spotting turned into AF on CD25 so 1-2 days early.

Brummie felt sure you'd cave last night. But understand the fear.

Enjoy your skin to skin today Just

Welcome Portmoon sorry you had such a distressing time in the hospital. Sounds awful.

Marchgirl · 19/05/2015 09:56

Enjoy the skin to skin just, and hope little scott gets the hang of it soon. Have you tried the laid back feeding position. My nhs classes never mentioned it, but I found it helped with dd.

Jady77 · 19/05/2015 10:52

Some good news here, I now have an appointment for consultant a week Thu which I'm really happy about. Thank you Baking for name of consultant.

I need some advice though. I'm panicking throughout the day and night that there's nothing there. I know this is trivial when others have been spotting and is irrational. But time seems to have stopped. Anyway I've found a place, literally 5 minutes away, that perform reassurance scans for £75. Do you think it's worth it? My worry is what if it brings no reassurance, as in they find no development from last week. I'm 6+3 today so will be 7+5 next Thu. Would you get the scan? They'd be able to fit me in tomorrow if I pay.

Marchgirl · 19/05/2015 11:34

It's not irrational jady, it's completely understandable after what you've been through. The steroids will also probably be suppressing your symptoms, which may make it harder to be reassured by them. Unfortunately I think a lot of the private clinics won't see you before 7 weeks, and my epu refuse before 8 weeks, as there is a major leap in development around that time, so a good scan at 8 weeks is a much better indicator than at 6. Do you have an nhs reassurance scan booked? I think if you are struggling and can afford it, then a scan at 7 weeks might help you, if you can't hold on until 8 x

Jady77 · 19/05/2015 12:07

The secretary seemed to think they would do the scan the same time as the appointment next Thu. Prof Brosens recommended my next scan be next Monday. So its only 3 days after.
I think you're right about symptoms being suppressed. Everything just feels so different this time, I kept jerking awake last night convinced I am no longer pregnant and again this morning. I mainly just get hungry all the time which can also be from steroids I believe. I think I need to hold out til next Thu, which will be pretty close to 8 weeks. Thank you March xx

cloudjumper · 19/05/2015 12:52

jady I also think that holding out until 8 weeks is the better thing to do, too much uncertainty still at 6 weeks!

just Fingers crossed that Scott gets the hang of feeding soon, it's such a worry! But skin to skin is great in any case.

Welcome to the newbies, sorry you find yourself here, but you have come to the right place.

Hello everyone else, sorry for not more name-checking!

Nothing new here. Still very nauseous all the time, and it's worse when I'm tired and stressed (hear that, work?!?). Got my booking appt on Thursday. Currently thinking if we should do the Harmony test... Not sure if I will, given that it failed twice last time, but the extra reassurance would be good.
Wondering when I should tell work...

girliesaints · 19/05/2015 12:59

Jade, I would also advocate waiting to 8 weeks for a scan. I've had scans at 6 weeks and everything looks ok only for them to mc a few days later. Also with current pregnancy had uncertainty for last two weeks and probably could have been avoided if waited until 8 end and would have had much better understanding which way it would be going then x

mrsdiddlydoo · 19/05/2015 13:26

jady I'd definitely wait till you're 7 weeks and 8 weeks if you can, but if it is stressing you out (which it did and still is me) then go next week. I think as far as symptoms go we just have to try to remember that every pregnancy is unique and symptoms will vary with each says she who is hopeless at not comparing

Brummiegirl15 · 19/05/2015 13:33

Hmm I'm feeling less "symptomy" not even a word I know!!!

That said, I'm at an event and I'm snacking constantly. So maybe that's it.

Or maybe it's a bfn and I'm just getting way ahead of myself. Almost wish I had tested yesterday - to put me out of my misery.

Got to wait until I get home now

Flen · 19/05/2015 13:51

brummie keep in mind that a test now might not give you a solid answer - that's the worst but for me! Getting through this anxiety will hopefully give you a more reliable answer when it does come. Keep snacking.

jady I can see lots of people saying wait, but I have to say that all my losses are early ones (6+4 ish) so that 7 week one is going to be important for me, even if it's inconclusive. Think you can only do what you need.

Justonemoretime · 19/05/2015 14:17

Jady, I agree with Flen, you know your pattern of previous losses. I'd go for a 6 week scan as my losses were also at around 6.4, too. You now whether you can handle a week of 'known' limbo as opposed to 'unknown' limbo, IYKWIM? Good luck, and, whatever you decide, I how it helps. x

sorry for the typos... Blush

Catlover2014 · 19/05/2015 15:37

Sorry to be a quick post, busy day and can't keep up!

Jady there is some evidence that regular scans provides reassurance and therefore a lower chance of mc. With this pregnancy I went mental for the first 11 weeks and paid for a scan every week. I know it's crazy but it reassured me and helped my nerves a lot.

Keep on snacking Brummie!!! Got everything crossed for a BFP when you get home.

Think of you today Bubbles

Erica21 · 19/05/2015 16:40

Hello all, after one of the worst nights sleeps I've had in a long time my scan this morning showed a little bean with a hb measuring exactly 7wks +1, still early days but going back at 9wks and feeling a lot happier today.
Jady FWIW my EPU were really happy to see me at 7 wks even though I thought I should wait til 8 wks. Am crampy, nauseous and knackered so feeling positive in an exhausted way!
Just I hope you and little Scott are ok, I know exactly how you are feeling... When DS was born I wasn't allowed to bf (he was essentially starved for 2 wks) whilst on a dextrose drip, and took a lot of skin to skin and perseverance and he eventually got interested!
For everyone in the 2ww keeping my fingers crossed, and hello to the new ladies, sorry you're here but this group is AMAZING! Big hugs all round x

Catlover2014 · 19/05/2015 16:47

Great news Erica!!!!

Just read this article and thought you ladies might be interested: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/may/11/misconceptions-miscarriage-boost-guilt-shame-feeling-study

Brummiegirl15 · 19/05/2015 16:51

Woo hoo Erica that's amazing!!! Yay!!

bootles · 19/05/2015 17:15

just hope skin to skin helped boost Scott's interest - so pleased you finally get long cuddles.

Purple hope all is well with you and John

baking hope Faith is doing well

tanny and tiny hope Bertie and Alice are well.

bubbly how are you doing?

biscuits was it you who said your ds was being bullied? Meant to say how hard that must have for you and I hope it gets resolved soon.

minnie I think my af arrived at the usual time post scratch, but I spotted half way through the next cycle and ovulated 3-4 days later than usual on cd 18. Still conceived that cycle.

jady the fear of nothing being there is so normal. Hard to say whether you should go for another scan. I think whatever you are more comfortable with. Which doesn't help at all I am sure! There is no doubt that steroids mask your symptoms. I was on them last time and felt very lost without many symptoms - that pg got to 9 wks so plenty of time for symptoms but they were minimal.

barking really glad you kept a couple of those cardigans.

march sorry you haven't got af yet - how are things with dh? Has he come round to the idea of a weekend away yet? How are feeling without the progesterone?still shite?
