Welcome port and so sorry to hear about the awful experience you've had. So bad that care is not more joined up and standardised across the country and that people still have to deal with this extra stress when they are going through a heartbreaking experience. I hope you find some support and information here. Big hugs x

texta · 18/05/2015 21:28

portmoon very sorry this is happening to you. it's no time to experience the bad side of the underfunded and understaffed NHS. you've probably googled it already but there's some instructions on collecting samples:
www.natera.com/pdf/POC-collection-instructions.pdf

it might provide some comfort to know that it is very unlikely to have chromosomal problems for four miscarriages. Also the NHS tests for POC are very basic and are often mishandled producing no results. You can also get the karotyping done with your DP to find out if there is something hereditary, which is the preventable benefit of the testing. So you won't be missing out of you can't capture something from this sad day. please take care and rest up.

March I had a cold at the start of my cycle, but have been fine for a couple of weeks at least. No I haven't been using opk's. Yes, I haven't had a normal length cycle since I fell pregnant with ds 1, I had been on pill for ages, came off and conceived him first cycle, after DTD on cd15. Ds2 was conceived cd 21 Ish from memory, and since AF returned after feeding him they have been 40+ day cycles, couple of 38-39, worst one was 54 day cycle. Very slight bit of pink tonight, so something is happening but ov or implantation is anyone's guess.

Brummiegirl15 · 18/05/2015 21:53

Hello all - am mnetting from my hotel room.

Hello Port welcome and so sorry you find yourself here.

Hmm I have to admit, I'm actually too scared to test in case it's negative and therefore I'm worried it's too early and a false negative.

I'm worried its the progesterone giving me symptoms and that actually my horses have just got zebra patterned coats from somewhere!!!!

But I do feel rubbish I will admit. I was queuing for my flight at Birmingham and I was so exhausted I just wanted to sit down in the middle of the terminal whilst everyone was barging to board the aircraft.

But I didn't buy any tests as I was too scared to test

barkingtreefrog · 18/05/2015 21:56

Hi texta and Moon, sorry you both have reason to be here Thanks. moon that nurse is shocking, but sadly not at all surprising. They don't seem to read notes before they speak to you, I've been on the end of similar.

barkingtreefrog · 18/05/2015 21:58

Brummie the entire journey is just mental. Enough to drive anyone insane. Oh how I wish I was one of these women who doesn't even realise she's pg until it's already past 12 weeks Hmm. Fingers crossed for a bfp when it's the right time to test. Then you can start on the next stage of mental... Wink

Portmoon · 18/05/2015 22:12

I think Ive had a post disappear into ether. I cant retype. But thanks all. Your responses have been amazing. X

Frecklefire · 18/05/2015 22:22

Welcome texta and moonport. Sorry to meet you under these circumstances, but if drinking in the bar at the end of the world, these are definitely the ladies you'd want for company!
Anyone else googling Serum clinic in Athens like mad? The Locus Medicus test makes fascinating reading. I remember an ex (vile, horrid piece of work) once flinging in my face that he had chlamydia, but of course, i just assumed he was being horid and vile, as was his personality. I wonder now if i should have paid more heed. Texta - can you tell me, if you know, is it possible that infection would become a problem after having a baby, and it is possible to have a child fine before the problem kicks in? I have 1 ds you see...

mrsdiddlydoo · 18/05/2015 22:28

Hope to tomorrow goes as well as it can bubbly

Minnie74 · 18/05/2015 22:32

Welcome to the thread port so sorry for your losses and your shitty experience with the Epu. So totally what you don't need to be repeating. Why don't they just read the notes! Lots of lovely ladies and knowledge here to help xx

sun and girlie good luck with your scans. Everything crossed!

bubbly thinking of you tomorrow. I hope you're home and resting as quickly as can be and have someone to look after you (and bring the wine and chocolate) xx

mrsd have as many scans as you need to put your mind at ease. The wait between scans is soooo long and anxiety filled. I'm definitely in the overscanner camp!

brummie you have iron will not to have bought a test! Hoping for the BFP when you do test. I really think it's going to be a yes with all your zebra symptoms!

Coventry ladies - how much bleeding did you have after the scratch? It feels more like the start of a period than I expected. And did you find it made af arrive earlier? I'm sort of hoping it does then Dh might be around for ov!

MrsConfusion · 18/05/2015 22:38

Welcome texta and moonport, so sorry you find yourselves here but I'm glad you've found this fantastic crew!
Bubbly hugs for tomorrow, and girlie for scan on weds. Everything firmly crossed.
Waves to everyone else. Thinking of you all in your struggles and victories. Loving the idea of a bar with you all in!

MrsConfusion · 18/05/2015 22:45

MrsD hugs. Do whatever you need to do - scans, time off, TLC. We're here for handholding.

MrsConfusion · 18/05/2015 22:48

sun fingers crossed for scan too. Sorry I keep missing people on my phone.
flen game of thrones sounds like good way to warm up for tonight!

Catlover2014 · 18/05/2015 23:30

Hope AF comes soon march progesterone always extends LP by about 4-7 days in my experience.

Sorry you find yourself here moon and for your losses. Hope we can be of some help. Sounds like your GP needs to refer you to a RMC consultant if he/she hasn't already.

Sorry for brief post feeling under the weather and phone is playing up. X

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 19/05/2015 00:03

Texta, thank you for that info - I did some Googling and interesting that there is suggestion that antibiotics helped both male and female fertility.

Pop, I felt such guilt at being in a RMC having had two boys, I was quite sensitive to any suggestion that I was selfish. So can completely understand you thinking you were made to feel selfish. But looking at it objectively, you ABSOLUTELY should not feel guilty for wanting what most people with kids (plural!) take for granted.

Freckle, I thought Chlamydia could cause infertility if it became pelvic inflammatory disease?

Minnie, I had continuous spotting/light flow from Coventry scratch up to AF. It was difficult to tell where one stopped and the other ended.

Welcome Port. Was going to say make sure you collect right products but Texta beat me to it.

IFinishedTheBiscuits · 19/05/2015 00:27

Sun and Girlie, crossing fingers very hard for you.

Bubbly, good luck.

Brummie, hoping it's Zebras! (Or the other way round... the good one anyway!)

Wadsy, good news about strong line. You're right, it is emotional torture. But that is a good sign.

After speaking to GP and emailing letter heard nothing again! So will have to chase tomorrow. Although feel very much like AF due tonight so keen to stop progesterone now.

My son's teacher emailed me tonight saying "I know we said we'd talk on Thursday but I wanted to reassure you as you were distressed". Great - it wasn't just the TA who noticed then. Maybe I can blame it on oestrogen dominance on Thursday... I have noticed I've been quite teary and sore boobs from soon after ovulation to end of cycle for last few months, wonder if that's linked to taking progesterone.

Good lord I need to go to bed. [Googles link between lack of sleep and RMC...]

girliesaints · 19/05/2015 06:01

Good luck Bubbly x

Marchgirl · 19/05/2015 06:29

minnie, i found it brought af forward but ov was still when it should have been, so was actually probably not really brought forward, just heavy spotting. Does that make any sense at all?

Still no af and no temp drop for me. Confused

Justonemoretime · 19/05/2015 06:50

Hello you chatty lot. Welcome newbies. Sorry you need to be here, but hope you find the support and help you need.
I've skim-read back but on my phone so I'll just say, looking good for some early lines, symptoms and a fertility safari (Brummie!Wink ).
Good luck today Bubbles.
Minnie, Coventry may bring on AF bleed early, but prob won't move ov date in my experience... you may be different tho.
Baby Scott has his medical needs pretty much under control now in the neonatal unit but is being very lazy with feeding still, and has a feeding tube as he won't suck. I'm going to spend today doing skin to skin kangaroo care, hopefully, to see if I can pique his interest... Once he can feed, I think we can bring him home.

barkingtreefrog · 19/05/2015 06:55

Thinking of you today, Bubbles Thanks

Just fingers crossed Scott gets the hang of it today Smile Thanks.

ThePopAndCry · 19/05/2015 07:12

Thinking of you today bubbles. X

Minnie74 · 19/05/2015 07:22

Thinking of you bubbles Flowers

girliesaints · 19/05/2015 07:31

Just, glad to hear baby Scott's making progress. In my experience getting newborn babies to feed can be problematic no matter when they were born, so hopefully he'll start to get the idea today and be home soon x

Brummiegirl15 · 19/05/2015 07:42

Good luck today Bubbles thinking of you.

Just skin to skin will be wonderful!!! Hope little Scott starts to get interested

Anyone asking about AF post Cov, it did nothing to mine. But the scratches during my hysteroscopy made me bleed much heavier and for longer

Flen · 19/05/2015 07:43

minnie Af came two days early post Coventry. My bleeding was quite minimal, and sort of watery. Maybe for a day?

Thinking of you today bubbles

Just that is sounding more hopeful and improvey, kangaroo care sounds lovely.

march I'm keeping my fingers crossed....

No temp rise today so going to go for another dtd. I am KNACKERED! The toll ttc takes is something I'm really feeling this month.
