It's a drug trial testing for implantation. They are recruiting for the four wave of testing and the drug is a variety of a drug already used for cancer treatment. It's a double blind trial so neither you or the team know whether you are having the actual drug or a placebo. To be honest I'm not fussed if I get the drug (of course would be great if I did) more signed up for the care package as you're closely monitored and as both my last MC's were delayed, I've never known when they failed.

girliesaints · 20/03/2015 13:32

Diddly, with you on the wine & ttc x

longestlurkerever · 20/03/2015 13:35

Sounds interesting girlie. Good luck!

Ha Mrs surely a partial sun is less dangerous than a normal sunny day anyway? Or did they think the kids wouldn't be able to resist looking at it? A shame how ridiculous schools get about these things anyway - surely it's a learning opportunity? Am dreading lunchbox police and all that stuff when dd starts in September (sorry teachers - you do a fab job otherwise!)

Marchgirl · 20/03/2015 13:40

Great news flen! I had pretty much written them off as a bit rubbish and ambiguous before getting the proper positive the next day and was then a bit. Oh. Blush
Hoorah for Friday too. Another week over and closer to Coventry

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 13:41

Ah yes diddly and girlie - roll on wine o'clock! Can't come soon enough today!! X

Justonemoretime · 20/03/2015 13:43

Longest, its not teachers, its the 'powers that be'... how silly not to let them outside. I just put on BBC live for 10 mins as it happened during a lesson. Kids loved it. Smile

barkingtreefrog · 20/03/2015 14:28

Great news Flen, hope it's helpful!
Saw the eclipse from the office window here, peeping through the clouds. Looked pretty cool Grin.
My hypnosis lady is going to come to my house for a session on Monday evening so she can help me relax after egg collection and keep me calm if possible while waiting to see if they've fertilised Grin. After the sedation I won't be able to travel to her.

Flower29 · 20/03/2015 14:43

flen and girlie yey for both coventry and starting the response trial! Smile I agree girlie, as you say, even if on the placebo, you're going to be getting top notch care which I'm sure will help you feel more positive and less stressed.

barking hope your hypnosis goes well and allows you to think positive and be calmer before you get the big phone all. (Assuming you'll find out this way...)

I'm feeling much more positive today compared to the last couple of days. Thanks again everyone for your supportive comments.

It is the first day of spring today, the sun is shining here up t'north and the birds are singing. Sat out on the decking without a jacket!! Shock

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 14:56

barking - hope the hypnosis helps. Do you know how long you will have to wait before you find out? X

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 14:56

....before you find out if they have fertilised I mean

sebsmummy1 · 20/03/2015 15:00

My stomach is really stressing me out today. It looks really pregnant, I'm hoping it's bloating from AF arriving - plus the weight I put on whilst pregnant Blush. Hate looking down and seeing the bump I should have had except now I'm embarrassed because I'm fat instead of proud.

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 15:34

Ladies - just thought I would relay a conversation I had with my consultant re lining thickness as I know it's been mentioned in the past.

On a recent non pg scan my lining was quite thin mid cycle which really worried me. Anyway, upshot was consultant said as I am getting pg relatively easily, just not to worry about it. Apparently it can be different cycle to cycle, and while there is evidence that thin lining can cause difficulty achieving implantation in ivf, it's not very clear if there is any correlation in non ivf pg. She also said very firmly that there is no correlation between lining thickness and mc, ie once you get pg lining will thicken anyway because of progesterone.

Just thought would share in case others are worried about this too.

God help me, I have my MIL arriving this evening. This will be the first visit since F was diagnosed, and her question on the phone is 'have you done any decorating?' 'No, Mil, we've had other things on our minds' smile sweetly, face palm

Flower29 · 20/03/2015 16:04

Oh no baking, sounds like that's going to be hard work. Just what you need!! Perhaps you could spit in her tea if she's being awful!! Ha ha!! Just joking - seriously!! But the idea makes me snigger like a child! Grin

girliesaints · 20/03/2015 16:07

Bakings, sorry I missed F's diagnosis . Hope MIL blows you away with her compassion x

barkingtreefrog · 20/03/2015 16:21

flower/sun I call the clinic the next day and they will tell me if they fertilised, and then if they do it's day by day to see if they've survived and how strong they are to decide when they will do the transfer. Basically up to 6 days of daily nervously waiting to find out information!! Confused And then I'm in the 2ww (or the rest of it anyway).

barkingtreefrog · 20/03/2015 16:22

baking start practicing that fixed smile now and you might pull it off by the time she arrives Wink.

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 16:34

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 16:37

Oops - premature posting! Blush Meant to say...

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 16:38

And baking - breathe and if all else fails lock yourself in lichen with a bottle of Wine

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 16:39

Or even the kitchen. God what is wrong with me this afternoon!

MrsConfusion · 20/03/2015 16:48

Hello ladies, can I join you? MrsDiddly recommended this thread. Sad to see a few names here I recognise.

stats: 35, 1 DD, MC#1 August 2014 (13 weeks, ERPC); MC#2 November 2014 (7 weeks, natural); MC#3 March 2015 (?6-7 weeks, ectopic, surgical removal with right tube). Not the best few months of my life...!

I've just been referred to the local recurrent MC clinic but have no idea what to expect. After our first loss, as the baby had a large cystic hygroma (spotted at 12 week scan, then baby died a few days later), they did chromosome tests but didn't find anything. They also tested DH and I from blood tests and these came back clear, which I guess should be reassuring but I am just more confused than ever.

I'm currently focussing on getting back to work next week after ectopic surgery, and working out how I'll summon up the courage to start TTC again.

Sunandrainbow · 20/03/2015 16:59

Hey mrs - so sorry that you are here but welcome. This is a lovely thread, full of lovely, extremely knowledgable ladies.

Rmc testing usually consists of lots of blood tests for you for various things that could be causing mc - thyroid levels, clotting problems etc. Possibly also a scan to check the shape of your uterus and if there are any specific problems. And then karyotyping if there is a chromosomal issue with the fetus, although it sounds like you have had this done already as you mentioned blood tests for you are partner?

I'm not sure if they would also do additional tests because of the ectopic?

Anyway welcome again and big hugs for everything you are going through at the moment. x

Flower29 · 20/03/2015 17:35
