longestlurkerever · 17/11/2014 07:59

Just popping in to wish you luck today smoppet. What time is your scan? X

Catlover2014 · 17/11/2014 08:04

Hi ladies,

Some of you will remember me from being on here a few months ago but some won't know me. I'm waving hello to longest, tiny, tanny and just who I think will remember me.

For those of you who don't know me I have history of fertility issues (5 years ttc) followed by two mcs.

I wanted to share with you all that I am now coming up to 7 weeks pregnant. Next scan is on Wednesday and I am so scared. 6 week scan showed a hb and correct measurements so just looking for a little progress from there.Any advice on staying calm?

Hugs to you all and congrats Charlie on your BFP!!

Xx

TinyTear · 17/11/2014 08:15

Good luck for those with scans and appointments today, let us know how it goes.....

Boozle80 · 17/11/2014 09:37

Congratulations Cat that's great news! I haven't really any sound advice as I'm in the same situation, when it is getting too much I remind myself I have to go through this to meet my baby, even if this isn't the one I will meet its all part of the journey. It's incredibly hard though, I'm sending you massive hugs and calming thoughts.

Boozle80 · 17/11/2014 09:38

Really good luck to anyone having a scan today. Bring us back good news!

smoppet · 17/11/2014 10:50

Wow a lot happens in 24 hours! Thanks for the hands to hold and the good luck messages. Scan is at 1340, was awake all night stressing about getting back in time for the school run, obvs am focussing on the small stuff. Good luck cat for your scan on Wednesday, and fingers crossed for your feint line charlie and thanks for the info re UCLH. Flowers

cloudjumper · 17/11/2014 10:55

Welcome back cat and congrats! Fingers crossed that this is your sticky rainbow.
I'm afraid I don't have any wisdom to share about scanxiety, other than prepping the sonographer that I need to know ASAP if there is a heartbeat or not, no uh-ming and ah-ing and rummaging around, please. Other than that, having an understanding person there to hold my hand and distract me with random conversation. I vaguely remember my lovely friend trying to engage me into a discussion about where to find boots for people with wide calves one time, bless her heart. It went in one ear and out of the other, but I really appreciated her effort.
Sorry if that's not very helpful!

Good luck to everyone having a scan this week! We have so many pg ladies on here now, it is so uplifting and encouraging! I'm routing for all of you (and I'm sure you will understand that I am also totally jealous...).

The abs have fortunately kicked in, but I felt so rotten on Saturday and Sunday morning! Fortunately, it picked up, as DS had a full programme with birthday party and the the Octonauts show.
I chatted with a lady at the birthday party who had come with a 2-week old... So so lovely. But then had to pretend that I had to get a drink for DS when the baby was passed around for cuddles, don't think I would have coped (esp as I knew nobody there!).

Sorry for the sporadic reporting - I am madly busy with work and going to apply for a promotion on top of everything else - the deadline is tomorrow, and I am still working on the cover letter. Then DH being away, so I'm full on with DS (who is for once behaving very nicely, but still needs to be fed, clothed, bathed etc). Hoping that things calm down soon...

Marchgirl · 17/11/2014 11:11

Congrats cat and good luck for you and also for smoppet for upcoming scans.
cat, I found the 8 weeks of my last preg unbearably difficult so i feel your pain. Hopefully the support From the thread will help this time for you (and me when I get to that point) . Wish I Could offer more in the way of practical advice but i like boozles comment on it all being part of the journey.

longestlurkerever · 17/11/2014 11:12

cat! Lovely to hear from you. Have often wondered how you're getting on. Congratulations on the bfp. Was that on your usual meds or did you go for ivf in the end? Keeping calm is really hard. Distraction is the best bet I think. Wed is not too far away now. Hope it comes quickly and heralds good news. We've had quite a bit of it on the thread lately.

Good luck smoppet. Has there been any more bleeding?

Good luck with the job application cloud! that is another annoying thing about thus whole journey. You're kept in limbo for so long. I was always going to apply for promotion after my next mat leave but it is later than planned. Glad the abs are kicking in.

smoppet · 17/11/2014 11:46

Yeah, a big splodge more blood last night, longest, so I think part of the sleeplessness was expectation it would go overnight, but just a dribble overnight in fact. Oh well, we'll see in a couple of hours. And yes, good luck with the promotion application cloud. I kept not looking for a new job as I was hoping for mat leave; decided to change career, handed in my notice, and then had BFP, now DD2. You just never know how things will turn out, do you?

bakingtins · 17/11/2014 11:51

Liking the word scanxiety cloud Grin
Good luck with the job application, and hope you are unknowingly in the TIAP club this month.

Also a fan of scanxiety, cloud, and hope application goes well.

Boozle80 · 17/11/2014 13:44

Damn it, I've had a bit more pink cm - scan tomorrow, scanxiety definitely kicking in :(.

bakingtins · 17/11/2014 15:57

Keep the faith boozle less than 24h to wait for your scan. Good luck!

Anyone know, is there a problem with the mobile site? Seem to be only able to see the first post on each page and nothing else since lunchtime. Of course, if this is true then nobody will be able to read this post or I won't be able to see anyone's response unless it's the first post on the next page!

tannyLoo · 17/11/2014 17:46

Only just logging on, and so much to catch up on.

Smoppet hope the scan has been positive, and here if you need us.

Boozle good luck for tomorrow and hope the scanxiety isn't too unbearable.

Cat the first few weeks are so hard, good luck on Wednesday.

I'm just chugging along. Busy weekend at the arts trail, but hardly sold anything. Now have a cold and chronic wind, but apart from that, I'm fine, coming up to 25 weeks tomorrow and have a midwives appt on Thursday. My anxiety is still there, but so much less consuming. It is mostly middle of the night stuff. Am amazed still!
