Welcome everyone - pull up a chair! A thread for anyone who has suffered multiple miscarriages and is in need of information, moral support, tea or sympathy. Newbies very welcome.

Can we start the thread with a recap of where we are all up to again, please?

Just was your celiac and vit D checked as blood tests? X

Catlover2014 · 24/08/2014 14:47

Does anyone ever feel hurt or let down by their friends in RL? My friends never really check up on me anymore. I text my best friend this morning to ask how her new relationship is going. She replied about it but didn't bother or think to ask how I am Angry xxx

charlieis30 · 24/08/2014 15:41

cat i think it is totally normal. especially since i find myself wanting to talk about my losses all the time. i think its hard for people who haven't been through it to know what to say. we are always here for you Smile

Triplespin · 24/08/2014 15:54

Cat same here- one friend didn't even bother to reply to my email about my third mc - and this is someone who is going through ivf herself!!

Some just don't know how to react and others are actually "fair weather friends"....

enlightenedbunny · 24/08/2014 16:09

cat Some yes, others have been brill. Which is why with each mc (sigh) I have become more selective about who I tell. Most of the ones who have really been there for me are girlfriends who have at least one kid of their own (oh, and my gay bff Grin - he really stepped up when we needed him). None of them really understand the grief/fear (only one has had a mc, none have had 3) but they try to get it, and try to be supportive. I became more selective however after an unhelpful 'friend,' also a mum who hadn't had a mc came out with "i know how you feel, i felt awful after my termination, but its just so insignificant now I have my kids". ERRRR!? Yeah thats it exactly - not! Angry. She has since just talked about her kids, and never asks (but i expect I would no longer tell, so no loss...)

I guess in crappy times like this support comes from many unexpected places (like the ladies on this thread - thanks!) and sadly is lacking in other people you would have hoped would be supportive. Stick with the people that make you feel good...

Catlover2014 · 24/08/2014 16:53

Hmmmm sounds like we all face similar.

Englightened I cannot believe that woman said that to you, shocking!!!

Charlie I am so glad I have you all to chat with. I think id go mad if I didn't.

Triple there is no excuse for your friend nowt messaging back. Let's hope she doesn't need you one day...

I am lucky to have a lovely family and few great friends who I really can count on. Must just focus on them! Xx

cloudjumper · 24/08/2014 18:28

just Any more spotting? I'm having everything crossed for you! Like someone said earlier, it's not over until AF arrives properly... Hope you're feeling OK.

tanny Woohoo! Keep going, girl!

Sorry to be brief - my mum is here, and she is babysitting DS tonight, so that DH and I can go out for dinner Grin Am I sad thinking that this could be a nice prelude for this month's efforts - I'm CD11 Wink

Justonemoretime · 24/08/2014 19:15

Hi, No more spotting, and got a bfn, so who know! Still only 11dpo. Damn this waiting game!

Justonemoretime · 24/08/2014 19:17

cat, yes, they were blood tests. x

Catlover2014 · 24/08/2014 21:12

Keeping everything crossed for BFP in a few days time Just. I do hate the waiting game! X

Triplespin · 25/08/2014 03:44

Just - fx that it's just too early. Spotting could be implantation bleeding?

Justonemoretime · 25/08/2014 07:38

Thanks, Cat, Triple. No idea what's going on. Slight spotting again this morning. If this is AF, she's taking her sweet time! Tem still high-ish, but didn't really sleep properly last night so that can affect it. Annoying weirdness! Confused

Catlover2014 · 25/08/2014 08:39

Morning just and snap!!! Totally can't sleep with all the worry at the moment. Are you 12dpo? You should be able to get a fairly reliable test tomorrow morning!

I've had no LH surge again this month but think I might have tested at a silly time as I've been doing them 1st thing in the morning and read online that's a bad time. Done lots of baby dancing (sorry tmi) so fingers crossed we catch the egg in time if I have ovulated.

XxX

tannyLoo · 25/08/2014 08:45

Good luck, both of you!

TinyTear · 25/08/2014 09:39

Morning all... Got the start of a cold. Atchooo!

Rainy bank holiday so at least a good excuse to stay home on the sofa...

longestlurkerever · 25/08/2014 10:31

Me three cat and Just. Have been lying awake fretting. Think I have got to the bottom of why I have been miscarriage now, thanks to Prof Regan's book but it sounds like the chance of it happening again is pretty high. On the upside it maybe means it is a probability game and if I keep going I may get lucky again.

cloud was it you who took metformin? What did your doctor say about it? Mr Rai said he wouldn't prescribe it unless my insulin levels were high but a friend of mine was told it sometimes had the effect of rebalancing pregnancy hormones. She was prescribed it for annihilation and conceived her ds within 2 months.

Agh Tiny Hope I didn't give you that. It has been a rotten one.

Day of extended in-laws today. Wish me luck!

longestlurkerever · 25/08/2014 10:41

Ps ha Just. That is definitely me. Especially the holding the test up to the light and fishing it out of the bin.it is another three weeks for me till I start that joy again. Is so slow on a 42 day cycle!

tannyLoo · 25/08/2014 10:41

Just in so many ways!

longestlurkerever · 25/08/2014 10:46

Anovulation, even. Another autocorrect cracker

Justonemoretime · 25/08/2014 10:52

Longest, I did wonder... seemed a bit extreme... ;) x

TinyTear · 25/08/2014 11:44

Don't think it was you... DH and DD also have colds for a while... Easy day in today, at least...

I was on metformin in the last weeks of pregnancy because of GD.

longestlurkerever · 25/08/2014 11:48

Tiny - Hope it's a milder one than this beast then. Am still coughing up gunk 2 weeks after first coming down with it. Yes, metformin is normally a diabetes drug, but is sometimes prescribed for PCOS. Just trying to get to the bottom of whether this is because PCOS sometimes causes raised insulin (as Mr Rai suggested) or because a handy side-effect of metformin is that it can cure other symptoms of PCOS (as my friend was told). If it's the latter I might try and persuade someone to prescribe it for me.

Justonemoretime · 25/08/2014 12:54

Gah! Its AF Sad

tannyLoo · 25/08/2014 13:18

Bollocks! Bloody big glass of Wine for you... x
