milky Yes some receptionists are very insensitive. I used to do reception/office work and it gives us a bad name. I know the sickness is a really good sign I'm just feeling a little selfish. I also don't think waiting a cycle makes any difference. After my ERPC, I got pregnant almost straight after my bleeding stopped and thus resulted in DD

iggi sorry can't help re the aspirin.

mummy Hope you are ok :)

digi well according to LMP I am 9 weeks so have called MW and left a message this morning asking how long it takes for a referral as I'm at 9 weeks since LMP and need to be sure of my dates. Will await a call. Technically I am 6+1 today. Ish. Glad you are feeling okay, my boobs are getting sorer and sorer by the day Grin

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 10/02/2011 09:49

I have my first MW appointment on 28th Feb at 2pm. Which will be 11 weeks since LMP. Cutting it fine if I am further along. I thought they came and did the booking appointment at your house? They did with DD but this time I have to go up to the Children's Centre thingy. 2 weeks to go. That's my new milestone :)

ClaireDeLoon · 10/02/2011 10:13

Morning all!

Lunatic hope your little boy is doing well :o

lovelybunch how many weeks do you think you'll be by then? About 8?

digi hurrah for tingly boobs and other symptoms!

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 10/02/2011 10:21

On 28th I will be 8+5 although 11 weeks LMP.

lovemysleep · 10/02/2011 10:21

iggi I have been advised to take it from ttc both by my local EPAU and Dr.Shehata advises from 3 months prior to conception. Hope this conflicting advice doesn't confuse you! Incidentally, I got pg in the 1st month of trying, so I don't think it affected implantation for me - that's as long as it is firmly burrowed in there, of course!

Have come across my share of insensitive health "professionals" in my time too....my 1st mc, I'd gone to hospital in lots of pain, and a nurse was taking my blood pressure etc. She was complaining of being tired, and my DH and I asked if she had a late night - her reply was "Oh, no - I'm pregnant" - insenstive cow! Not what you want to hear when you are in the throws of an extremely painful mc. I don't know why some of these people go into the jobs that they do - they're certainly not suited to it.

milkyway2007 · 10/02/2011 10:49

digi thanks - my mum passed away about 11 years ago and I have no immediate family close to me - apart from my brother and family and they didnt know about my pregnancy...I know I will get through this, just taking longer than I thought :)
Glad you're feeling symptoms - I didnt have any with my daughter until 7-8 weeks too, so definitely enjoy this time!

Thanks for the lining info mummy

lovemysleep Yes, that isnt a very nice thing to hear whilst you're having a mc Sad. With this miscarriage the nurse was rushing through all this information with me, and then as she ran out the door, she told me "I have 12 other women waiting out there!" And I just sat in the room thinking "sorry for wasting your time, I'm obviously not very important"....

iggi I was told by a nurse that with my next pregnancy I should phone in the day I get BFP and they will prescribe me aspirin straightaway.

In regards to implantation - If you have a mc but see the baby with heart beat a week or so before, does this mean there isn't really a problem with implantation? I mean would a baby get to the point of developing a heart beat if there was a problem with implantation? Thanks

mumatron · 10/02/2011 10:51

iggi i too was told to take it while ttc. i took 150mg though. i would not advise taking that dose without checking with a hcp first though. 75mg didnt work for me.

ClaireDeLoon · 10/02/2011 11:00

milkyway I was told (admittedly by a gynae registrar that doesn't specialise in recurrent mc) that the reason that there was a hb and then a huge bleed could have been because of implantation problems. So according to him yes you can get problems with implantation and still get as far as a hb.

It is something I will be asking at my appt at the rmc on 22nd, I will let you know what they say.

Iggi2011 · 10/02/2011 12:23

Thank you all for the advice!

mummyabroad · 10/02/2011 13:34

Iggi Ashermans Syndrome sufferers like me are at risk of "implantation problems" all the way through a pregnancy. It depends on where the beans lands and how well the forming placenta attaches. The best place for bean landings are in the fundus of the uterus (top part) if it lands lower part it can form a poor attachment or cause bleeding/difficulties in labour (placenta previa) very often though placenta previa is self correcting because as the uterus grows the placenta rises and moves away from the cervix. It is believed by some AS specialists (but not all) that a bean landing on thin lining can cause placenta increta/acreta/percreta (where the placenta grows too deep into the uterus wall) some doctors say that this happens when a bean lands near or on damaged basal layer even when good lining has grown over and around it, some say the lining simply didnt grow thick enough. (less than 7mm)

So implantation problem for some doctors also means placenta attachment problems, which can affect pregnancy even after a heartbeat has been seen. If you are planning to google the ones I have mentioned, be warned its scary reading!

coconuts I'm fine thanks, not much to report, Day 10 here, the shagathon has commenced Grin

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 10/02/2011 13:50

iggi Things like a bi-cornuate uterus also cause implantation problems if the bean implants on the septate there may not be enough blood flow to that area causing a mc. Although if you had this I expect you'd know by now.

mummy Grin fingers crossed your shagging pays off! How did you resolve your cleaner issues?

mummyabroad · 10/02/2011 14:05

coco got half the stuff back, and then DH let her go, so its either proscecute or drop it. I probably wont do anything because prosectution wont get my stuff back. On the up side have my old cleaner back now, she is great.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 10/02/2011 14:08

If I lived nearer I'd do it myself I love cleaning! At least you got a few things back. Still can't believe the cheek of her.

hairylights · 11/02/2011 11:54

I'm back.

Just had my 3rd mc confirmed as early mmc (bang on seven weeks today).

Am having medical management and will be referred for clotting and chromosome testing in six weeks.

Doc was lovely ... But says they don't do amh, does anyone know if a gp will do this? Or will I need to go private for that?

Doc also said there's no reason to belive my old eggs are at fault ... And she sees lots of successful pregnancies in peoples forties.

hairyclaireyfairy · 11/02/2011 12:10

Oh Hairy Lights, I am so very sorry. It's so shit and not fair,
I don't know about the amh test but someone will.
Take care and sending you a great big hug xx

hairylights · 11/02/2011 12:17

Thank you my fellow hairy :) how are you doing?

hairylights · 11/02/2011 12:18

I'm going to change my again -
it's too similar to yours Grin

milkyway2007 · 11/02/2011 12:35

Really sorry hairylights Sad. I am not sure about amh testing. I hope you're okay. Big hugs xx

Can someone please give me some advice. I am really scared right now - My breasts are leaking colustrum. I had my medical miscarriage last week, and this has never happened in any of my miscarriages. It's only when I squeeze them, and I am really scared that milk is going to come in. They are tingling and heavy like after I had my daughter. What shall I do? Will this affect my fertility? What can I do to stop the milk coming in...just really confused and scared right now.
I am thinking that maybe I really do have a high prolactin level which is causing the mc's. I dont know...

If any of you have been through this, please tell me what to do - I dont know if I should phone a doctor about this. I have an appointment for the 22nd.

Thanks

Ladybee · 11/02/2011 13:20

Hairy hugs here too - waiting for the testing to start is huge do make sure that you allow yourself time to grieve this one - even if you felt that it was less of shock - before getting sucked into the rounds of appointments and waiting for results.

I think Justmee had a scan today too? Is that right? Hope she's ok.

ClaireDeLoon · 11/02/2011 13:22

hairylights I'm so sorry :( I don't know anything about AMH testing either I'm afraid, other than the basic what it is.

milkyway I'm sorry again I have no idea but if you're worried you should ring the doctor without a doubt.

Ladybee · 11/02/2011 13:31

Hi milkyway I don't think there is anything you can do to stop the nipple discharge - my understanding was that once you've breastfed for a reasonable period your breasts are much more 'primed' to produce milk/colostrum than a woman who has never breastfed/carried to term.
I'm not sure that producing milk necessarily indicates a too high prolactin level or one that would interfere with a continuing pregnancy. If it did, surely no breastfeeding women would be able to sustain pregnancy at all? And there are plenty of women around who do BF while pregnant.

That all said, if you're worried, can you get a phone consultation with a GP and describe what is happening? They might be able to arrange tests to check.

mummyabroad · 11/02/2011 13:58

Hello

hairy I am so sorry, I am quite shocked too, I really thought you were doing so well. I am glad the doctor has given you that bit of reassurance about your eggs and that they are moving swiftly on with testing. Hope you are OK. Someone on here has had AMH tested recently, but I forget who, was it Panda or Crystal?

milkyway sorry I dont know anything about prolactin either, but I do know every time it has occured to me I might have a particular problem its only been by getting tested that I have been able to relax about it. I got tested for prolactin levels as part of the Day 2 tests, so I think its quite simple and easy ? (I did it abroad though) I agree with ladyB that asking your GP is a good step.

coco that would be a very long commute to work!

I am off for a scan today to check lining, hoping and praying that it is 7mm or bigger and that there is a trilaminar pattern. My last two periods have been worringly light so I really need this to stay off the worries that scar tissue has grown back.

hairyclaireyfairy · 11/02/2011 14:25

Don't change your name Hairy, i'll change mine. I don't really post that much and I notice your name a fair bit.
No big deal for me, plus you need the support from people that recognise your name atm.
Big congrats to Lunatic, did post on the thread in chat as well.
Not the best week here, the erpc went ok but have had dreadful pain and very heavy blood loss. Had to go to docs yesterday to get bloods taken but all is ok. I'm just taking things very easily atm.
Mummy, hope the scan is good today.
Milkyway, I don't know either but :( for you.
Sorry am utterly crap at namechecking eeryone but hoping that you are all ok.

hairylights · 11/02/2011 14:33

No clairey not at all! I'll change it back to the original hairytriangle thati was before Xmas :)

I'd changed it to hairyfairylights during Xmas and then shortened it to hairylights but I'm more than happy to go back to my original name x

lovemysleep · 11/02/2011 14:34

hairyclairy sorry to hear that you've had such a tough time. Had horrible pain with my previous mc's too, and it's nasty - hope you were able to take something to help with the pain. Look after yourself.xx

hairy another big (and hug)sorry to you.xx

milky would have thought it was part of the process for some women. Maybe check it out with your GP just to put your mind at ease. Take care xx
