mumatron thanks for those links! I shan't click on them while at work but will have a look tonight. Did you have to pay for the tests rather than NHS?

Waves to everyone else.

claire you should be able to get those tests done on nhs for free (except nk cells). my consultant (private one) advised me to take a list of the tests to my gp and see if they would do any themselves. my regular gp said no but its always worth a shot.

Have posted on you thread lunatic Keeping MN open all day for an update.

Just came on for a bit of a vent. Having a tearful and negative day. Very sick this morning and have retched so much I have given myself a headache. I have had nothing to eat or drink so far today. I just can't face anything.

And to top it all off, my Dr's secretary has just called and I don't need to go next week after all. No action needs to be taken regarding my blood results and my file has been sent back to the library. And then she says "if this pregnancy doesn't work out Dr will be happy to see you again" I really didn't need that seed planting today of all days. I have visitors coming this afternoon so need to pretend I feel fabulous. I have no bread for DD's lunch so she is just eating a sausage roll and an orange Blush

Fucking shit day.

Thanks justmee and claire I have had an apple and some lemon water but I can feel it churning around.

justmee They were homemade sauasge rolls that DH made. They were super yummy! What is Turkish bread like? Hope you're not too annoyed at your appointment being changed.

claire Yes she was very matter of fact but I suppose working in a gynae ward she is used to it and desensitised to it. I hope she never has to go through this.

I called my EPU to see if I could arrange a scan but they don't do early scans here unless you are bleeding etc. So looks like I have to wait til 12 weeks. Tick flaming tock!

lovelybunch go see your GP - mine referred me for a scan last time (after two consecutive miscarriages) as soon as I went to see him. You may find your GP refers you. I assume that the EPU have to give you a scan if the GP has referred you.

justmee when is your next scan?

Well done lunatic - such lovely, lovely news...

Coconuts how many mc's have you had previously? I was sure that most EPAUS would provide early scans as they seem to value the research that suggests recurrent miscarriers benefit enormously from regular scans and lots of support. They are a bunch of tossers if they don't follow this! GGGGGGTrrrrrrrrrrr - makes me so bloody mad that there are different levels of treatment depending on where you live. I thought that they legally had to provide the same level of care to everyone........makes me want to kick some butts Angry

Report
lovemysleep · 09/02/2011 19:48

coconuts just noticed you've had 2 mc's - bet they are dragging their feet as it's not the magic 3. But, when I lived in Nottingham, they gave me an 8 week reassurance scan after my 1st mc, so there are some discrepancies with this. I think they should just give you one, due to you PCOS/uterus. Can they not understand that you are anxious and need some TLC?

Congratulations Lunatic :)

Yay new appointment Tuesday. mc testing commences then!!

Bad day today first day back at work and burst into tears, reckon hormones are playing with my emotions!! Work know nothing about the mc this time, they must think I am loosing it!! Oh well tomorrow is another day!! 2 weeks tomorrow since ERPC and antibiotics all finished now.....need wine bucket loads of it!!!!

Coconuts one of my friends advised me to fake bleeding as they will scan you then! It is crazy that they will not do an early scan when you have history! My GP said I couldn't have one either, just glad my fertility consultant didn't feel the same and I got the early scan. The other thing that your GP can do is hormone level tests which are a good indication that everything is fine. But the fact that you are being so sick is a great sign, the sicker the better!! Not fun but each time you are sick remind yourself that it is a great sign!!! :)

Hi :)

LMS Yes 2 mcs but had DD in between so not consecutive. The EPU just said point blank we don't do early reassurance scans. Only the GP can refer after bleeding. It's so shitty when I know it would temporarily stop me going insane.

confu3ed sorry you have had a bad day too. Here have this - Wine I would be reluctant to feign a bleed. That would be tempting fate too much for my liking. This is why I was hoping my gynae Dr would still see me and perhaps do a sneaky one, but no luck there either. I know my symptoms are promising but I don't want to feel like shit if it is all going to be for nothing. Stupid aren't I. I should just suck it up and get on. Hmm

Hoping lunatic and baby are doing well :) Can't wait to hear the name xx

Just wanted to say how reassuring and happy it makes me when I see women who have been through hell with mc's and going on to have healthy babies. Well done lunatic!

I faked bleeding with my 3rd miscarriage - was really worried and something didnt feel right - I didnt want another MMC like the time before, so told them I was bleeding and had an emergency scan, that showed I was dating at nearly 5 weeks instead of 6 - that was enough for me to know that there was an impending mc. The sonographers were reassuring me that dates get mixed up - but you dont mix up dates when your TTC...I miscarried exactly 1 week later.

coconuts - I know sickness makes you feel shit bad, but it's a really good thing, as far as my experience goes! Also, in my experience, these bloody receptionists and some nurses need to learn some etiquette when talking to worried women. I've come across some dumb cows in my time..!

confu3d sorry you had a bad day at work :( It will get better with time - just keep yourself busy xx

claire lol ;)

justmee good luck with your scan - I am always exactly the same - heart pounding days on end - I hope things will work out perfect for you xx

I havent been having a very nice time these past few days - my husband's flu is never ending, and I had a massive shout at him about it yesterday...I think I'm being a bitch - guess I want to be "looked after" too...but thats clearly not going to happen. It's been a week since my medical miscarriage and I'm just constantly thinking about it..I healed with my other mc's quite quickly, but this one has really hurt me deeply. Wish my hubby could share the sadness, but I think he covers up - I just want a big old cry with him :( :(

I've been in touch with pre-pregnancy counsellors at the EPU, and I'm going to be sent an appointment - I know I want to start trying again ASAP. My consultant still hasnt been in touch. My GP sent him a letter on 27 Jan, asking for an urgent appointment, but still nothing.

Does anyone actually believe that waiting one cycle makes the uterine lining stronger? Because the lining is shedded every period anyway, so how does it make it stronger the second cycle? I dont get it..

Sorry for the long post - wanted to get some things off my chest.. Hope everyone else is okay xx

Report
Iggi2011 · 09/02/2011 21:28

Hello, really pleased to hear Lunatic's news Smile
Milkyway I was asked to wait a cycle, but not to make lining stronger or for dating, it was just because they wanted to be sure I wasn't pregnant again (as if!) when they did the blood tests.
For anyone taking baby aspirin, I was wondering are you told to take it from AF, or ovulation, or bfp?
(still waiting any results on tests of course! But have that "have to try *something" different this time" feeling)

Report
mummyabroad · 09/02/2011 21:43

God I am so far behind I dont even know how to do a catch up now.

So just a quick on for milky I am a bit obsessed with uterine linings, and as far as I know there is no reason to wait after an mc for lining purposes. You should wait until you get a negative HPT (so you dont confuse a new pregnancy with the old hormones leaving your system) and wait until you feel emotionaly ready. If you are not going to wait for AF have a good idea of when you ovulate so you dont freak yourself out unnecessarily at the first early scan if they say the dates look wrong. Waiting for AF also gives you the advantage of knowing that you dont have any post mc complications like retained tissues/AS/infection etc. This is good reading

Iggi everyone on MN who has spoken about this says their consultants advise them to take aspirin after a BFP and not before (as it could prevent implantation). Some ladies with AS who I speak to on other sites take it all through the cycle to improve blood flow to the uterus, and get a thicker lining but there isnt much evidence to prove that this is OK when TTC. (I dont use it, and I have lining issues)

lunatic congrats again!!GrinGrin

digitalgirl · 09/02/2011 22:20

iggi I'm taking it, not prescribed just as a 'can't do any harm' thing. I started after bfp.

coconuts aren't you supposed to be getting a scan soon anyway because of your lmp? When would you be '12 weeks' according to lmp?

confu3ed sorry you had a bad start getting back-to-work. It might not feel like it now but it does get easier.

milkyway sorry things have been tough for you too. Perhaps your dh has really been feeling the stress, hence getting flu. My dh was so strong for me, but he admitted to going back to work briefly (works alone in his office) for a cry the day we found out about mc#3. But yes, you do deserve to be looked after too. Is there anyone else that can come over, perhaps cook some food and clean the house, to give you a break - a mum, an aunt?

And of course big hurrah to our 'lunatic*! We're all rooting for young master lunatic to get big and strong and give you lots of cuddles soon!

Am ok, boobs bit more tingly. Twinges down below a bit more regular. Stuff clearly happening. But generally feeling fine. No sickness or anything, but didn't really get that with ds till nearly 7 weeks, so trying to enjoy this as much as poss. Work is busy so that's keeping me distracted.
