almostanangel · 04/05/2005 13:31

oh ............

helsy · 04/05/2005 13:36

you can't cross-fertilise from other threads! (just made that rule up). Leave the YTS alone!

lapsedrunner · 04/05/2005 13:40

What a great thread. Can I join please, I'm a 62 babe and will be 43 in Aug. DS is 2.8 and I feel like I have aged 10 years since he was born

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 13:42

thanks helsy

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 13:43

so any hints for the yts girlly then?

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 13:44

oh i wear an apron with a pocket in too

WigWamBam · 04/05/2005 13:46

Ah, go on, if she's nearly 40 then that has to count for something? Even if only to let her feel young compared with us old codgers?

helsy · 04/05/2005 13:47

As soon as you get any grey, dye your hair. And cut it short. Long grey hair - yeuch.
Don't wear t-shirts with slogans on.
How many people d'you think I've offended now?

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 13:49

so do i take off the tigger t shirt imwearing then

WigWamBam · 04/05/2005 13:49

Not me, I have no grey, my hair is short anyway, and you don't squeeze boobs the size of mine into slogan t-shirts unless you're very brave

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 13:49

ooh already dye hair!!yes

Lonelymum · 04/05/2005 15:04

Almostan angel, you are he only person I have ever met who wants to be 40 and begs to join an over 40s club whilst still in her 30s. Are you sure you are quite sane?

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 15:43

lol nope!! but my mum was 47 when she had me so if she had had me when she was younger i would have been well over 49 now!

almostanangel · 04/05/2005 15:45

that made sence when i thought it..argh

Potty1 · 04/05/2005 18:03

almostanangel ??? What are you on?

Misspiggy · 04/05/2005 21:25

Why has no one mentioned David Cassidy, Donny Osmond and the Bay City Rollers??? (remember Shang a Lang?) My mum has a photo of me sitting on my bed with a wall full of David, Donny and Rollers posters (mostly of Les - went off him though after he knocked down that old lady )I twisted my ankle when I was 8 or 9 tripping over my flares with the extra panel of "Rollers" tartan that my I nagged my mum to sew into the hems....God , I never heard the last of that one I missed 3 days of school though..yay! Summer 1976 is seared into my memory cos its the only time I've ever had a decent tan (pesky 50% Scottish blood!!)

emmatom · 04/05/2005 21:28

Oh, so you have been admitted then, fatchanceofeverbeinganangel!!!

We want no reporting back to the youngies, OK!

I actually remember, going back to the money thing some way down there, being given half a pence and being able to buy some sweets with that at Hendersons newsagents.

Little black-jacks and prawn salad chews. There was also those sherbet things, in a yellow tube and they had a stick of liquorice in, and you dipped the stick in the sherbet. Remember?!

emmatom · 04/05/2005 21:31

OH my god, Donny!!!!

He was my big thing. Last year he was doing a concert at the NEC in Birmingham. I went and couldn't believe I was reduced to tears.

Firstly I was seeing my idol for real as a 39 year old, after all those years, and also they played the old shots of him when young, behind him and it was surreal that I was there watching him in real life.

The last time I had been an 11 year old or something, sitting on the settee in my folks house.
