You may think you are the only one Mumsnetting in the North East but you are not. Come on and meet foxytocin and a few other lovely mumsnetters. Sign up quick so you can help decide where and when.

Indith, SPB, BT, Lackadaisy... I am baaa-ack.

1st is fine for me.

Foxy how about checking out the Easter fair on the Sands next week? If you didn't mind bringing a MT with you I have a friend has asked to be converted with her toddler. Said I'd lend her a wrap once I have spares but I think a MT would suit her wants so would be good for her to try one on

BettySwollux · 08/04/2009 13:20

Hi, count me in. Am SAHM so can fit in with you lot.
Looking forward to it, never been to a meetup before.

Indith · 08/04/2009 13:36

Hello Betty

foxytocin · 08/04/2009 13:53

Hi Betty,

I meant to say in my email that I am in Hawthorn, which is a spit away from Dalton Park.

I can bring along a MT in fact, I have one she may like to buy. heh, heh.

Do you have a link to the Sands thing?

The 1st of May in the morning? or PM?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 08/04/2009 13:57

1st would need to be morning for me, if everyone else can do that?
Where do we want to meet? I could do Dalton Park?

StealthPolarBear · 08/04/2009 13:57

Hi Betty!
Where abouts are you?

Indith · 08/04/2009 14:03

No I don't, I just saw an AA road sign saying it was there, opens tomorrow evening I think and runs all next week or something.

I can anywhere public transportable for the 1st

BouncingTurtle · 08/04/2009 21:50

I can do the 1st as well.
Morning is best for me, I can get to Durham for 10am?

BettySwollux · 08/04/2009 21:56

Hi all!
Im in chester-le-st, the 1st is good for me.
Is Dalton park the shopping centre?

BouncingTurtle · 08/04/2009 22:00

I just missed that... are we meeting in Dalton Park on the 1st then? That would be easier for me tbh!

foxytocin · 08/04/2009 23:01

I would love to do something at Dalton Park as it is so close to me. (Yes, a shopping centre, BS) It has a great pub food style restaurant and across from it, chocolate cake etc. Someone recently told me they were impressed iwth the food and price so I'd like to try it out. They don't do a children's menu just serve a small portion of normal food to kids - yay!)

But it sounds like Indith is without transport?

OP posts:
BouncingTurtle · 09/04/2009 10:11

Foxy - is that the carvery place next to M&S? It does look nice! Not been in though.

Hmm can anyone help with transport for Indith, surely must be buses to DP from Durham?

foxytocin · 09/04/2009 10:18

yes, next to M&S. yes buses come to DP from Durham but i suspect they take about an hr to get here so Indith would need to bring sandwiches and a flask of tea for the journey.

Just to confuse the issue I can probably now do the afternoon of the 28th as well - any good (would be slightly better for me but I don't really mind) I've just realised the 28th is a tuesday, and it's wednesdays indith can't do....
sorry for confusing everyone - pregnancy brain
Indith - do you have car seats, and do you have any idea if 3 would fit in the back of a VW Polo? if so can definitel;y give you a lift at least one way (depending on day might be going straight down to see mum and dad afterwards)

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 10:23

looks as though it takes about 45 mins to get from Durham bus station to Dalton Park , if not

foxytocin · 09/04/2009 10:27

ha ha no. 3 car seats cannot fit in the back of a polo.

OP posts:
Indith · 09/04/2009 12:46

I can ask dh if he would work from home so I can have the car. If we go for the 28th then William will be in creche so that would solve car seat issues for lifts as I'd only have dd.

foxytocin · 09/04/2009 12:55

i can do 28th.

Indith, would you be going to the Sands on Sat? I can do Sat pm.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 13:01

Ohh but W has to come
But if it makes life easier and you're happier for him not to, then I can give you a lift. Both ways on the 28th I should think (Just occured to me that if not, that might make your life a bit difficult!)

Indith · 09/04/2009 13:37

Ok shall see about the car so William can come. Otherwise though 28th seems good thank you SPB

No Foxytocin I won't be going on Saturday, we have MIL up and are going to have a second viewing on a house A very pretty hous in Waterhouses, all countryside and wood burning stove Am totally free all next week at the moment though so just yell.

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 13:38

I LIVE THERE

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 13:38

sorry for shouting but all excited
which house?

muggglewump · 09/04/2009 13:39

Sorry, I'm an intruder but I lived in Durham till I was 19 and I'd forgotten all about the shows at the sands each Easter. It brings back fab memories of when I was a young teen.

Creeps back out again....

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 13:41

What a stupid question, don't answer that unless you can do so in very general terms indith!
Hi mugglewump

StealthPolarBear · 09/04/2009 13:44

She's on the phone, isn't she, cancelling her viewing appointment now she knows I'm there
