Right, so some voting (for dates), and some venue checking has been done, and Me n NappiesGalore have made executive organising planning decisions (based on us having little time and few options )

Saturday 22nd November

Dust Bar (website here)

Nearest Tube Station - Farringdon

It will be canapes, so if you want more food, eat beforehand.

The canapes are being chosen for us - they will be clearly labelled as meat, fish, veg and will allergy advice.

The music we can bring a dj, ipod with playlist set up or have music piped up (music is a very varied mix so should suit everyone). We can use any/all of those options.

Music is quieter at bar end, plus we will have volume control.

They have some fabulous sounding shots

Price will be £20 per head max. I will phone tomorrow to find out when they need final numbers for food etc, and when we have a more accurate numbers list, I can work out the right cost - it WILL NOT be more than £20. If we end up paying more than is needed, then obviously I will buy a new dress divide it up and refund people OR put it behind the bar - whatever you think is best.

How's it all sound?

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2008 22:14

50 is ideally needed for £20 per head - That would most likely result in price dropping later (and me refunding people), but that would cover the minimum spend too iyswim

zippitippitoes · 09/09/2008 22:15

didnt previous indicate a 20 % drop off so you need that many over

psychomum5 · 09/09/2008 22:44

I think flame said that this was the place we had free reign over the music.....either our own DJ, and ipod with music of choice, or they could pipe it thro to the dance floor.

I think this is the right info

zippitippitoes · 09/09/2008 22:45

ipod like a silent disco

orangina · 09/09/2008 22:46

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2008 22:54

what psycho said - i dunno if we want a mass playlist, but then it involves getting all the songs in one place.... or if anyone djs oe has a dj that will do it cheap/free

I think when we developed the music plan we should keep in mind that there will be a considerable number of partygoers who want this space to be suitable for conversation. That is, they will want to be able to see and hear the person they are talking to with anyone having to shout.

A Dj might be too loud.

We defintely need to maintain some volume control/compromise.

I'm just trying to keep everyone happy -- as much as possible.

Sophable, I don't know you well enough to know how dedicated you are to playlist selection. But, would you be interested in organising a playlist? Or maybe we should look into the cost/options of a DJ before we rule it out?

In fact, maybe music discussion needs it's own thread?
