Right, so some voting (for dates), and some venue checking has been done, and Me n NappiesGalore have made executive organising planning decisions (based on us having little time and few options )

Saturday 22nd November

Dust Bar (website here)

Nearest Tube Station - Farringdon

It will be canapes, so if you want more food, eat beforehand.

The canapes are being chosen for us - they will be clearly labelled as meat, fish, veg and will allergy advice.

The music we can bring a dj, ipod with playlist set up or have music piped up (music is a very varied mix so should suit everyone). We can use any/all of those options.

Music is quieter at bar end, plus we will have volume control.

Price will be £20 per head max. I will phone tomorrow to find out when they need final numbers for food etc, and when we have a more accurate numbers list, I can work out the right cost - it WILL NOT be more than £20. If we end up paying more than is needed, then obviously I will buy a new dress divide it up and refund people OR put it behind the bar - whatever you think is best.

We are working through a list

Well, right now I am ignoring my children and playing with photo montages, and Nappies is eating her body weight in chocolate buttons and minty balls....

I have some very grave news people...

I won't be able to make it to the meet-up!

With everything that's going on right now, no house and no money, I just can't do it.

I am gutted. Hopefully next year.

AtheneNoctua, I'm quite near The QEII bridge. Couldn't afford to pay a babysitter...also another good reason for not going(lack of funds), but Dp would probably have paid for me to go if he were about to sit for me.

Thanks, glad you like my blankets. Those are early ones, the more recent ones are even better! I have 'GRACE' and 'JACK' up for grabs atm, they were made for showing around, but word of mouth did the trick better tbh.

Sorry but had better count me out as I have to work the next day. It's only one of two saturdays in the year I have to work.

have not read v far back, and am still a bit, um, delicate from my w/end 'off'... so bear with me.
i checked out a few places in hoxton. am waiting on a call back from a place called the Hoxton Pony. tres trendy, but light and bright, open and good for mingling... it wouldnt be our own room per se, but they would rope off half of the downstairs. they play en eclectic mix of music and can provideplatters of food, details to be discussed. any violent objecvtions invited

another potential one was the bluu bar in hoxton sq (used to be the old blue note) they have booths and a bar in a basement there and we can reserve all of them, (effectively the whole of d/s tho people will still need to come through to use the loo) for nuffin. they can do canapes etc. again with a mix of music styles.

what do we think? these are both within budget (as far as my poor wrecked brain can tell so far), nice and easy to find, food looks ok, reasonable mix of music, big enough, available, well stocked bars... what else did we want? cant remember now...

Bluu sounds more private

I had good intentions of getting home from petrol on Sat and looking places up... but I left my laptop at mum's and promptly forgot the place names anyway

bluu is our backup plan then... still think we can find better space was a leeetle bit tight there... nice tho.

I like the sound of Bluu for being by ourselves, but it may not be as spacious as other places by the sounds of it....

I'm a bit antsy now it's all going to fall apart and it will be five women who may or may not get on, a bunch of cocktails and a feckload of canapes.
