Right, so some voting (for dates), and some venue checking has been done, and Me n NappiesGalore have made executive organising planning decisions (based on us having little time and few options )

Saturday 22nd November

Dust Bar (website here)

Nearest Tube Station - Farringdon

It will be canapes, so if you want more food, eat beforehand.

The canapes are being chosen for us - they will be clearly labelled as meat, fish, veg and will allergy advice.

The music we can bring a dj, ipod with playlist set up or have music piped up (music is a very varied mix so should suit everyone). We can use any/all of those options.

Music is quieter at bar end, plus we will have volume control.

Price will be £20 per head max. I will phone tomorrow to find out when they need final numbers for food etc, and when we have a more accurate numbers list, I can work out the right cost - it WILL NOT be more than £20. If we end up paying more than is needed, then obviously I will buy a new dress divide it up and refund people OR put it behind the bar - whatever you think is best.

can't remember the other place myself, obviously flame will, and she is heading to me after the toddler arty session she and flamedude are at right now.

any other suggestions in the meantime would be great tho

Damn and more damn, my sister-in-law is now having her fortieth on that day! So need to remove myself from list. PLease CAT me if you don't have enough people/money and I will send you the money to donate for a Mumsnetter who would like to come in my place...

I've held a big private party before at the Angel - candid cafe all v. bohemian. They have 3 or 4 different rooms and apparantly can do up to 200 guests. But I am not up to date re opening/licencing hours with regards to private hire - Last time I went you could bring your own wine and have free corkage (so v v v cheap), and I think we had the place until 1am, but that may all have changed. And not sure if they would allow decks into one of the rooms. But if anyone lives that way it might be worth checking.... though it will have a totally different feel to it than last year if you went for this option (it is not your typical clubbing scene, more like gatecrashing a 1920's country house party)... just something to throw into the mix...

I'm not really bothered. (so long as there is alcohol) and I'm just typing some nonsense here to keep this on "threads I#m on".

I've just been informed that Dp will be in NI and West Yorks for most of the latter part of October and all of November, so that's me out No babysitter.
