Hi everyone,
Hope your all well and not too exhausted from your day.
This is my first time on mumsnet and it seems abserloutly brilliant. I just wanted to know if there are any mums out there who live in the above areas who may fancy meeting up for a coffee with the little ones.
Im 32 and live in sidcup, I have a 13month old little boy and I am 6 and a half months pregnant carrying a little girl
I recently went to a local toddler group in sidcup but i was shocked to find out how bitchy some of the mums could be. They gave me the once over before i got in the door, nobody came up to me and said a word, they all had their backs towards me and continued to chat and have a coffee. I felt soo awkward which is not like me as i am a very bubbly and confident person 99% of the time?? Also the childrens toys were filthy and as for the floor was another story.I was really dissapointed as i wouldnt take my little boy there again yet i loved the idea of him making new little friends, but just in a cleaner enviroment.
So if anyone is out there who loves tea, coffee or loves to "do lunch" especially with the summer coming up, please let me know.
Take care.
xx

hello ladies! Hope I am not too late to join in with your meet ups. I am also an Eltham mum and havent had much luck with toddler groups in the area. I have one DS 21 months old. Go occasionally to toddlers world at the arches in greenwich which DS loves! Do you know of any child friendly cafes in the area? Or where have you been meeting??

toomanypushchairs · 03/03/2005 20:04

Hi thirtysomethingmum, course you can join, jacksmum sujjested Kidz korner in hither green lane, which sounds like a good idea. Don't think a date has been sujjested yet. Xena thinks theres another thread about bexleyheath, I might try and look for it.

mummytummy · 03/03/2005 21:17

Bum, I can't believe some of you still went - I could have made it. I drove to Sevenoaks to the Planning office, and was on my way back at 10.30. It was quite snowy, so I presumed that everyone would cancel. I am kicking myself, because I was on the M25, and could easily have gone!!

Jackmummy · 04/03/2005 12:10

HI all,
I'm planning to go to kids korner, on hither green lane, next Wednesday morning... 9th, I think. So if anyone wants to join us they are more than welcome. Jack and I usually get there at about 10, as its quieter when it first opens. But are flexible with time if anyone would prefer meeting later. I will just warn you that the food there is not as good as whale of a time. Mostly sandwiches, although do toasted ones, and beans on toast. Basic food really.
Let me know if anyone fancies joining us.

coldtea · 04/03/2005 14:27

I've just seen why you ask! Will go back to that thread!!

Amberlilli · 04/03/2005 14:39

Coldtea,
I'm back here again.
COOEEE!!!
Where do you live?

coldtea · 04/03/2005 14:48

Have i missed you again! I live in bexleyheath now but used to live in Orpington....

coldtea · 04/03/2005 14:58

Have just realised you must be on the school run. If you pick this up i'll come back on at 4pm

coldtea · 04/03/2005 16:01

I'm here!

Amberlilli · 04/03/2005 16:12

Hi coldtea,
I've just been talking to myself on the thread about first love.
I've become addicted to mumsnet and haven't been able to tear myself away all day. Feeling terribly guilty about all the chores I should have been doing.
I might try and get to Crook log sports centre for that tumble tots thingy mentioned a while back.
What time does it start and finish?

coldtea · 04/03/2005 16:15

It's on mon & tues 9.30am & fri 1pm.

I'm dying to know who you remember from sainsburys!

coldtea · 04/03/2005 16:16

If you decide to come , i promise not to give dd raisins that morning

Amberlilli · 04/03/2005 16:24

Mon morning is probably the best for me.
I went out with a lad called Laurence Keane.
There were loads from Coopers but I can't remember their names it was 17 years ago, my dh(who worked there same time as me) might remember a few more.

coldtea · 04/03/2005 16:30

I usually go on the tues as it suits me better , but can make an odd monday if want to meet there?

I really must get off here , DD is impatiently climbing all over me & insisting i put ds's pants on my head , what a sight!!

Shame i don't recognise the name , do you remember a Paul Collins from Crown Woods?

Amberlilli · 04/03/2005 16:38

Coldtea,
I can make Tues 15th March.
I might struggle to make 9.30-does it matter if you're late?

coldtea · 04/03/2005 16:53

Have sneaked back on for 2 seconds! It does get busy & there have been occasions where they have turned people away as they can only let x amount of people in. I'm often a few minutes late but i book it as i'm a member. I think you can book 2 days in advance if you're a non-member , but will find out & let you know(have just tried ringing but nobody is answering)

Amberlilli · 04/03/2005 17:08

I could get there earlier if I ask my neighbour to take DD1 to school.
Thankyou, we'll sort something out nearer the time.
I'll CAT you.
Bye for now.

Jackmummy · 07/03/2005 15:01

I'm not sure if anyone was going to come, but thought I'd best say just incase, that I'm not going to kids korner on wednesday anymore. My week has reorginised itself and I may now go on Thursday, if anyone is interested.
Hope all had a good weekend. My morning sickness started in a big way... what a lovely mothers day gift from no.2!
H x

toomanypushchairs · 07/03/2005 15:08

poor thing! I hated the morning sickness, hope you're not feeling too bad. Hadn't really decided about wednesday, but thursday is probably better for me anyway. I'll try and see Xena and amberlilli at school and see what they are doing.. Speak to you soon

toomanypushchairs · 08/03/2005 13:19

Amberlilli, hope you are okay. Haven't seen you at school this week, or are you just hiding?
