Hi everyone,
Hope your all well and not too exhausted from your day.
This is my first time on mumsnet and it seems abserloutly brilliant. I just wanted to know if there are any mums out there who live in the above areas who may fancy meeting up for a coffee with the little ones.
Im 32 and live in sidcup, I have a 13month old little boy and I am 6 and a half months pregnant carrying a little girl
I recently went to a local toddler group in sidcup but i was shocked to find out how bitchy some of the mums could be. They gave me the once over before i got in the door, nobody came up to me and said a word, they all had their backs towards me and continued to chat and have a coffee. I felt soo awkward which is not like me as i am a very bubbly and confident person 99% of the time?? Also the childrens toys were filthy and as for the floor was another story.I was really dissapointed as i wouldnt take my little boy there again yet i loved the idea of him making new little friends, but just in a cleaner enviroment.
So if anyone is out there who loves tea, coffee or loves to "do lunch" especially with the summer coming up, please let me know.
Take care.
xx

Hi WW - sorted out the talk thing now. Thanks for that, its not too clear if you don't know is it?! Sorry that you blew your cover, still you can always register again as somebody else! 11am is great - looking forward to it! How will we know which group of people are from Mumsnet? I suppose there are a few of us going and it probably wont be that busy. I'll be the one looking harrassed with the 6m old boy!!

toomanypushchairs · 23/02/2005 13:58

and i'm the harrassed one with twin boys 2yrs old. I did read on a thread the other day that some mums were meeting up and carrying a lakeland plastic catalogue, but I don't have one of those! it made me chuckle though...

Amberlilli · 23/02/2005 15:10

Hello.
I'm another mum in Eltham (near Westmount). 35 with two girls, a 5 year old (at The Gordon) and 21 months. I'm a quiet, stay at home mum looking for new pals for my youngest and for me!!

coldtea · 23/02/2005 15:48

Amberlilli, come along to whale of a time!! There are 6 of us going at the moment make it lucky 7! CAT me if you're interested

Amberlilli · 23/02/2005 18:36

Coldtea,
Thankyou for inviting me. Greenhithe is a bit too far for me to drive-bit of a nervous driver-don't do motorways-sorry I'm crap and get all panicky!
However, if you arrange any local meetups please let me know-anybody.
I'm always willing to have small meetups at my house and I have a nice big garden for all the little ones in the summer.

toomanypushchairs · 23/02/2005 19:49

Amberlilli are you still online? I'm 32 with 4 children. My eldest 2 go to the Gordon, wonder if I know you? What class is your daughter in?

coldtea · 23/02/2005 19:56

amberlilli , our daughters are so close in age i was hoping you could come. Never mind watch this space & we'll arrange something else soon.

Amberlilli · 23/02/2005 20:39

Hello,
My eldest girl Lillibel is in Paris class.

Amberlilli · 23/02/2005 20:50

Sorry, Paris class is year 1. Mrs. Joyces class.
I help out with reading and stuff on a Thursday afternoon. I really appreciate what the teachers do after being in the classroom myself!!

KBear · 23/02/2005 20:50

I would have come to Whale of a Time but I'm working next Wednesday (and it's my birthday too - boo!). Next time though, count me in. I have a DD 6 and a DS 3.

Amberlilli, you don't have to go on the motorway to Whale of time if its the motorway that's putting you off. I could give you directions that take you from Erith towards Dartford then along University Way to the Tunnel and its only a couple of minutes from there. Check it out on multimap.com.

toomanypushchairs · 23/02/2005 21:30

Amberlilli, will see if I can work out who you are in the playground tomorrow!

Amberlilli · 24/02/2005 12:31

I am usually pushing a huge silver cross buggy, wearing a lilac sheepskin (fake) coat, lilac bob hat and my daughter has a matching ensemble! I will always be found hiding at the back by the fence as I find the playground a terrifying experience!!! I know a couple of mums to say hello to but I am painfully shy and probably come across as a bit stand offish!
Today I will be coming out with Lillis class at 3.30.

Xena · 24/02/2005 12:33

Amberlilli · 24/02/2005 21:03

Hello Toomanypushchairs,
Nice to meet you!
I have worked out it's quite straightforward to get to Whale of a time by train from Eltham-it only takes 35 mins.
What time were you planning to meet next Wednesday? I have asked another mummy of a little boy 19 months to come along too.

toomanypushchairs · 24/02/2005 22:35

Sorry, keep forgetting to check conversations, nice to meet you too. 11am meet up, does that sound ok? will try and see you in the playground tomorrow, will introduce you to Xena
