Hi everyone,
Hope your all well and not too exhausted from your day.
This is my first time on mumsnet and it seems abserloutly brilliant. I just wanted to know if there are any mums out there who live in the above areas who may fancy meeting up for a coffee with the little ones.
Im 32 and live in sidcup, I have a 13month old little boy and I am 6 and a half months pregnant carrying a little girl
I recently went to a local toddler group in sidcup but i was shocked to find out how bitchy some of the mums could be. They gave me the once over before i got in the door, nobody came up to me and said a word, they all had their backs towards me and continued to chat and have a coffee. I felt soo awkward which is not like me as i am a very bubbly and confident person 99% of the time?? Also the childrens toys were filthy and as for the floor was another story.I was really dissapointed as i wouldnt take my little boy there again yet i loved the idea of him making new little friends, but just in a cleaner enviroment.
So if anyone is out there who loves tea, coffee or loves to "do lunch" especially with the summer coming up, please let me know.
Take care.
xx

You have a definite yes for 11.00 next wed from me and my friend OlliesMum (she posted on the "Any mums in Eltham?" thread back in January). OliiesMum has Oliver who is 19 months we only met this Wednesday!
We will come by train.

Amberlilli · 25/02/2005 16:21

Coldtea,
I've just read through all the messages and I see you have a dd 19months- is that right?
My dd 2 in June (lost count of months) doesn't have any little girly friends-although she quite happily plays with the boys- look forward to meeting you.

OlliesMum · 25/02/2005 17:27

Hello Everyone Im ollie's mum - Laura.

Im a SAHM to Oliver, 19 months and we live in Eltham, Just over the road from Amberlilli.

I would love to come to Whale-of-a-time if that is ok with everybody?

Laura & Ollie Xx

toomanypushchairs · 25/02/2005 19:24

Olliesmum & Amberlilli, glad you're both going to woat, olliesmum, think I spoke to you a while ago on an eltham thread. You recommended happy mummys, don't find it as good as mumsnet though. looking forward to meeting everyone.

coldtea · 25/02/2005 20:27

Hi Amberlilli, yes my dd is 19 months. She will be 2 in July. Glad you're coming , my dd doesn't have any other girly friends either. Like your dd she is used to playing with boys as i have a ds , 3 nephews & most of my friends have ds's though only 1 is a similar age.

toomanypushchairs · 25/02/2005 20:40

It's funny how you all say your dd's only play with boys as its the opposite for us, my ds's only have girls to play with, (not that we don't like girls)

bambi06 · 26/02/2005 22:06

hi xena next time youre in beckenham let me know and we`ll get the girls together

Jackmummy · 28/02/2005 14:02

Hello Everyone,
I'm a friend of Amberlilli, who a met through a similar site, netmums. I have a ds aged 22 months, who is full of energy. I also childmind part time, mainly a 7 month old boy. I hope you don't mind but Amberlilli mentioned to me that she was meeting you all on Wednesday and we want to come along too!
I live in Eltham, but can easily drive there. I have been once before but found it closed when I arrived, lets hope i have more luck this time.
I hope its okay for us to come.
Take care

coldtea · 28/02/2005 14:19

Hi Jackmummy , of course you are welcome to come! There will be quite a crowd which should be fun! My dd is a energetic little soul too so hopefully we'll wear them out nicely!! Whale of a time is closed on a monday , so maybe it was a monday you went before (mental note to check they'll be open!!). See you wednesday. X

mummytummy · 28/02/2005 21:32

I may end up being a 'no show' on Wed. We are having a loft conversion and I need to take the plans to planning office in Sevenoaks in the morning. I'm aiming to shoot straight on to Whale of a Time, but I have to pick DD1 up from nursery at 1.00, so if I get stuck in traffic, or if it takes longer than planned, I will have to duck out. Hopefully I will make it, but if not, can you let me know if you are meeting up again?

MrsLoveToChat2U · 01/03/2005 11:39

coldtea · 02/03/2005 15:00

HUGE APOLOGIES to everyone. Have to be quick (schhol run in 10mins!) DD shoved a raisin up her nose this morning so i had to go to casualty to have it removed! She has never done anything like this before so i aplogise for not coming but really hope i'll make the next one. Nearly forgot DD is fine now! Hope you all had a good time. BIG THANKYOU to MWLTC2U dh for letting everyone know!

Amberlilli · 02/03/2005 15:20

That reminds me of when my dd stuck a bead in her ear!
It took three A+E departments and finally a general anaesthetic to get it removed!!!

OlliesMum · 02/03/2005 15:55

Hi Everyone. Ouch.... i dread the days when Oliver starts putting things in places he shouldnt. I hate hospitals!! Glad everyone had a lovely day today at WOAT. Now dp is recovering Ollie has a nasty cold so still couldnt of made it.

BTW if anyone is intrested in joining another mums group (lots of members in this area) then feel free the address is

groups.msn.com/HappyMummys/everyonewelcome.msnw

We will have a few meet ups going on soon once we have enough members as the group has only been open 2 months.

Laura & Oliver

MrsLoveToChat2U · 02/03/2005 17:35

Hi girlies,
hope you all had a good giggle today. Was it anightmare figuring out who may be part of the mumsnet club?
So sorry iwas not there but something quite exciting came up, very unexpected.
One of my girlfriends waters broke and her dh works 2 hours away, so she wanted me to take her to the hospital and hold her hand whilst her husband got there. it was all very chaotic, although i was trying to keep her as calm as possible.Being as im 6 and ahalf months pregnant myself aswell as having ds aged 13months was all a bit too overwhelming.
Oh well time now 17.30 and she still hasnt had her baby yet and we wnet in at 10am.
My dh, left a brief message for all you girls i can see, bless him, Just to explain what happened to cold tea re raisen up dd nose, and me going to maternity ward with my friend.
So, at least you all seemed to have a good time. would love to meet up with youall soon.
xx
