Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

CROYDON (and surrounding areas) It's nearly summer. Shall we meet up in a park? All welcome.

What do you think? Suggestions please..

When we last met we said a park would be better.

As in the title all welcome

turtle23 · 19/06/2008 09:54

Firewalker · 19/06/2008 11:27

Hi there

I'm friends with Amandoh and she mentioned this thread to me. I live in Purley, have DD who has just turned 4 and can drive, but I only have Monday afternoons free (except 14th July when I've had to swap work days!) Don't arrange anything round me, but I'll try and come along if I can.

peachygirl · 19/06/2008 18:29

Hi I remember you firewalker, you popped into the previous meetup thread.
I will suggest another date... Diary downstairs again... after my tea

I would love to do another time - DD should be over her cold by end of weekend [praying emoticon] so anytime is good for me pretty much. Just let me know

tyaca · 19/06/2008 22:19

hey all.

turtle, if you fancy a meet up in carhalton at any time let me know. dd now 15 wks and am starting to get twitchy at home! v bad timing as am now moving from streatham so feels a bit silly to start meeting people round here.

re 14th/15th ... we moving on 14th itself... but dh just reminding me that my job on move day will be looking after dd and i may as well be elsewhere . earlier in month would be good for me too tho'.

now, please reassure me that not everyone is croydon is as mouthy as BB's alex ...

turtle23 · 19/06/2008 22:31

tyaca...I'm free most of the time and desperate for more company!! Email me!

splishsplosh · 20/06/2008 22:12

I'm free most of the time, though contemplating pregnancy yoga late on a Monday morning if I can find a babysitter, and we swim Tuesday mornings til the holidays, but other than that I'm free for meet ups

mymblemummy · 21/06/2008 23:34

Hi Turtle, sorry for not getting back sooner. My husband was away and had the cheek to take his laptop with him! I'll be e-mailing you.

Tyaca, don't worry, we are not all like Alex. I've been reading about her in the Croydon Advertiser, what a sweetie!

peachygirl · 22/06/2008 21:19

hiya, i dont need my diary to confirm that either mon 30th or tues 1st fine by me

Amandoh · 23/06/2008 12:06

Hello again,

I hope you all had a good weekend.

Monday would be the best day for me but I'd try to make it on Tuesday. I've not been to Carshalton Ponds before. Just so I know what time I'd have to leave here, does anyone know roughly how long it will take on the 407 from Caterham?

splishsplosh · 23/06/2008 19:34

Not sure without looking on the bus timetable, but I'm sure it's at least 30 minutes from S Croydon, plus when I went that way at the weekend there were roadworks causing long delays, and last week I saw a few 407s terminating their journey early, presumably because they'd been so held up.

peachygirl · 23/06/2008 20:57

Shall we say Monday 30th then? In the afternoon.
Shall we go to Carshalton ponds??

OP posts:
tyaca · 23/06/2008 22:13

sounds good to me.

Firewalker · 25/06/2008 15:58

Thanks for arranging this Peachygirl - unfortunately, I can't do next Monday afternoon. Found out last week and DD has a "settling into new school" visit that afternoon. Hope you all have a lovely afternoon though and the weather is good.

If you decide to go again, I would love to come along. Hopefully I will be able to make the next one.

mymblemummy · 25/06/2008 23:31

I'll definitely try to make it, though I will have to squeeze in a school run.

Around what time pm? Is it definitely Carshalton ponds? If so, what bit, near the traumatised ducks or somewhere else?

Thank you from me too, Peachy.

turtle23 · 26/06/2008 21:14

Will try to make it too. Away for weekend and not sure if we'll be back in time.

Amandoh · 27/06/2008 16:21

Hi again,

My Dp has said he'll be back in time for the older boys coming home from school so I can make it.

I've not been to Carshalton Ponds before so a detailed description of the meeting point would be much appreciated!

Looking forward to meeting you all.

peachygirl · 28/06/2008 12:09

OK just checking where we are meeting I'm off out this afternoon but will pop back late with my map.

OP posts:
tyaca · 29/06/2008 18:25

hello, do we have a time?

peachygirl · 29/06/2008 20:04

Hi shall we say 2pm?
Am I right in thinking that it's the park with the 'hogpit pond' in the A-Z off Ruskin Rd?
If so, shall we meet near that entrance which seems to be nearer the pond and then we can wait for people if necessary?

OP posts:
peachygirl · 29/06/2008 20:05

can do earlier if that's better

OP posts:
peachygirl · 29/06/2008 20:14

OK but confused... its it the park attached to the the westcroft leisure centre?

OP posts:
tyaca · 29/06/2008 20:36

2pm fine by me but am flexible. no idea where we're going tho'!
