5'8"
So what is everybody up to this evening?
I am off to a meeting with my next lot of pupils' parents.
Lyra? Tea with the Queen?
Binkle you had better have a relaxing night you've a big week next week.
Oggs...start laying salt tracks, turn your tennis rackets into snow shoes and build a sledge with harnesses for any suitable animals to pull you to the airport...
Zeb...has that cow given birth yet? You didn't say...

binkleandflip · 24/01/2008 16:38

I am off to the gym at 5, then just nipping to my brothers for a brew later but nothing more exciting than that for tonight. I am having my roots done and a facial on Tuesday in honour of our meet-up btw - I hope you all feel duly honoured and dont forget to tell me how glowing I am looking

OP posts:
Berrie · 24/01/2008 16:54

Tee hee

LyraSilvertongue · 24/01/2008 17:08

Facial? You'll be lucky if I pluck my eyebrows.
Quiet night in for me tonight. DP was supposed to be on a day off today (as he was away all weekend) but then Peter Bloody Hain resigned and he's had to go to work.

Berrie · 25/01/2008 08:43

Morning all...well my little walk to the park yesterday in preparation for next week has left me in more pain this morning. It is getting gradually better but I've never known it to be so slow, in fact I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever be right again...

LyraSilvertongue · 25/01/2008 10:29

Oh dear Berrie. Better rest it. Don't want to risk you not coming next week.
DP and I have just been to view a house. We're torn between extending ours (still 2-bed but with upstairs bathroom) and adding value, then selling, or moving now into a three-bed, 2 bath detached. The detached is closer to school but further from the river, and the garden is slightly bigger but more overlooked. Also, moving would cost more than twice as much as extending, but we'd be detached, which we've always wanted.

Zebedeedoodah · 25/01/2008 13:51

Ooh dear Lyra. This sounds like a case for Kirstie!
I'm now off out of the office for the rest of the day to drive around various parts of Cornwall to make sure we know where they are. Some international people are coming to visit us next Tuesday, so we need to know where we're going . But it includes a free lunch at Fifteen, so I'm not complaining!

Yikes, that means only one more day [Monday] in the office before I see you all So Monday we need to make a plan, or at least exchange mobile numbers. (Everyone here is VERY jealous, btw)

Berrie · 25/01/2008 17:23

Evening all...feeling grim today.
Lyra...tough one, guess only you can work that one out.

oggsfrog · 25/01/2008 18:59

Sorry you're still feelng crook Berrie. Is it always in the same place?

Tough decision Lyra, I don't envy you.

Zeb, is firteen one of Jamie Oliver's places? We've got a few Jamie videos andd dd watches them again and again .

I went to try and get my hair cut today but the only place that could fit me in on the spur of the moment didn't do dry cuts . A few shops down was a Gents Hairdresser and it was totally empty with the young lad reading a paper. I was seriously thinking of going in and asking if he'd do it for me. I had my spiel all prepared and was going to say I would pretend to be a man and put on a deep voice. The prices were in the window and it would only have cost £4 .
I've decided that I will indeed approach him in the near future, but didn't think this soon to the meet-up was a wise time to be testing his skills .

Zebedeedoodah · 26/01/2008 12:48

I'll be the one wearing a hat as my hair needs a good cut too!

And yes, Fifteen is a Jamie place. Exactly the sort of place you go only when someone else is paying.

Berrie · 26/01/2008 13:11

What did you have?
Where else are you taking the visitors?

binkleandflip · 26/01/2008 19:49

oh I am really envious about the visit to 15!! Would love to go there!

Just got back from London - another brilliant night last night and I have to say Lewis was just a tiny bit excellent - a completely different kettle of fish to Lee of course - but utterly brilliant in the part and very impressive for an 18 year old..that's is not to say I am not looking forward to seeing Lee again - I cant wait!!

There is also a particularly attractive brother who I like to divide my viewing time with I was sat next to a group of extremely suave and well groomed gay men who were most appreciative of said brother as was I. Dd on the other hand, was 'tired and emotional' by the second half so I was forced to placate her with a £10 cuddly camel to snuggle down with. Needless to say, when we left the theatre at nearly 10pm she was absolutely wide awake and full of beans until midnight!!

Different narrator last night too. Cant believe I am back in London on Wednesday with you all - its going to be so great

oggsfrog · 27/01/2008 09:38

Binkle, you must really clock up some mileage. How long does it take you to get to London?

Did they make Lewis wear a wig? When does Lee start again?

Zebedeedoodah · 27/01/2008 10:49

Lucky Binkle, you can now do a very good 'compare & contrast' for us...of course with a view to explaining why Lee won. . lol on the gay thing! . Can't wait for Wedensday. And no, I haven't been to 15 yet - that's Tuesday, so I can tell you all about it on Wednesday!

binkleandflip · 27/01/2008 12:52

I think he did have a wig on albeit a blonde one - its just seemed a bit rigid to be his own hair.

It took four hours to drive to London with a stop on the toll road at the services so not too bad at all really. DH drove but I will be going a little bit slower so am going to set off earlier around 10am just so I can mooch on down in my own time.

OP posts:
Berrie · 27/01/2008 13:52

Hellooo!
Back a bit better today. Been to town...it hurt a lot but eased off so I am very hopeful for Wednesday. Obviously shopping for me is very good for my back!

oggsfrog · 27/01/2008 14:10

Buy anything nice?

Berrie · 27/01/2008 14:26

Oh dear oh dear oh dear...I have been very bad....I had to rush past DH up the stairs which he thought was very silly...

Berrie · 27/01/2008 14:29

I have bought a new coat...a necklace...a new lipstick which I have just tried and will never wear as it looks horrid...er...I nearly bought a book for the train but was very good and put it back and will try not to read any more of the one I am half way through.

Berrie · 27/01/2008 14:29

Oh yes...some tights...that is all I am prepared to admit to!

oggsfrog · 27/01/2008 14:39

I know the feeling. The boots I bought on ebay are still stashed in the bottom of the washing basket .
I keep trying them on in the hope that my feet will have shrunk. Short of me amputating my little toes they are never going to fit though. It's very sad. I must look like one of Cinderella's ugly sisters trying to squash their hooves into a pretty slipper

Berrie · 27/01/2008 15:55

Tee hee

oggsfrog · 27/01/2008 16:08

I'm currently trying to work out my journey times to estimate what time I'll be arriving. Berrie, do you think we should meet up at the hotel? Before booking in, in the hope that we might get rooms within an hour's walk of each other. (it's very big, over 700 rooms )

binkleandflip · 27/01/2008 16:13

what time are you estimating arrival Berrie? The hotel is in a great location it is literally about 10 doors down from the theatre!!

I was thinking about our meeting up in the hotel too.

At the moment I'm working on being at Liverpool Street Station at around 1pm. I've then got to get the tube to embankment. Can anyone a) confirm that I go circle line to embankment which I should be able to do without any changes, and b) give me an idea of how long it will take/how much it will cost?
