I would have been furious, and as I'm much less organised than you I'd have ended up stuck at the barrier with an invalid ticket causing a traffic jam.

Definitely write again - that is a crazy policy. Yes, Watchdog are still going and I think it would be worth writing. Also maybe to the local paper? It must be affecting a lot of people. OK, it's only a tenner but how annoying! And what if you'd come out to drop off someone and didn't have a tenner with you (that would also have happened to me ).

vio · 24/06/2008 18:53

I think I will write again, just their attitdue is disgusting.

Their reply mentioned ' as you decided to park your car there so you are liable for £10 fee' how annoying??!! I didn't chose to PARK my vehicle, i didn't have a choice, i was on my own, it's not like someones with me so he could get out of the car and seek assistance, I was left with no choice but to pull aside as theres really no point keep moving forward while knowing the tickets already invalid and I will stuck at the barrier causing further massive queue and delay, just didn't want that to happen to others too. THey kept saying I chose to PARK my car there and that's what annoyed me the most

Honestly, i am not an unreasonable person and i dont lose my temper easily. Their reply seemed to have suggested that i wasnt telling the true and i was dodgy or something..really made me very angry!!

littlepig · 25/06/2008 13:13

I'd probably try BAA as well if you're not getting any joy from NCP. It was their bright idea to force us all into the NCP to pick up/ drop off in the first place.

As for NCP - no-one's arguing that it's not usually a good system but that doesn't mean it can't be improved to allow for invalid tickets/ faulty machines or whatever and avoid causing this kind of nonsense.

midnightexpress · 25/06/2008 14:46

trixy - can I CAT you plse?

BexieID · 28/06/2008 06:34

vio - I would be fuming too.

Jacs008 · 29/06/2008 20:17

Anyone fancy meeting at Calderglen country park, say the morning of Wednesday 9th July?

geordieminx · 29/06/2008 20:30

I could provisonally do that Jacs.

How old are your ds's again?

Jacs008 · 29/06/2008 21:50

hey Geordie, DD is 2.5 and DS is 5 months. We usually do a wander round the zoo then off to the slide in the adventure playground :-)

geordieminx · 29/06/2008 21:53

You didnt mention cake and coffee... I'm not coming if there isnt any cake

Ds is 14 months but is wild and will certainly love playground.

Jacs008 · 29/06/2008 22:11

Ahh, you forced me in to it, cake and coffee it is then :-)

BexieID · 29/06/2008 22:54

I had no idea where Calderglen country park was so googled it. I might pop along if I have the car that day as I don't fancy getting the train.

geordieminx · 30/06/2008 08:40

I wouldnt fancy trying to get a train there - no idea where the nearest station is - def better to drive - its signed from the M74 so dead easy to find

weeonion · 30/06/2008 08:57

morning folks! how are you all? aint be on here in an age - juggling work, baby and life seems to take all my time at the mo'!

BexieID · 30/06/2008 12:44

Theres a station at East Kilbride and then you get the bus to the park. We'd have to go from Dumbarton to Queen Street, then Queen Street to East Kilbride I think. Driving I believe I can got there without having to go on the nightmare M8 through Glasgow, lol.

littlepig · 30/06/2008 13:12

My ds is a little young for the adventure park (5 mo) but might try and pop along for the coffee... need to find my diary and check it as I've a nag in the back of my head I'm supposed to be somewhere that day...

bookthief · 30/06/2008 14:22

Hey weeonion, how the hell are you?!! How's being back at work? I hope everything worked out in the end.

My pc at home's on the blink so I get all my mnetting done at work, which is as good a reason for being here as any - obviously only on my breaks though...

trixymalixy · 02/07/2008 00:21

Hi everyone, hope you are all well and haven't caught that sickness bug that's been going around. We were all been sick for a week with it. Poor DS just stuck to me like a limpet for days.

We've just got back from a weekend at a VW show (joys!!)down south. Was very nice actually in a really pretty village called Lavenham.

midnight, I haven't paid for CAT, but you can email me at trixymalixy at yahoo dot com.

littlepig, it was lovely to meet you and your littler pig. I hope the weaning is still going well!

bookthief, was lovely to see you again too. We were both fine after the meet up.

Geordie, what happened to you?!?!?

vio I would have love to have met you at last. Maybe next time? I would definitely write again to NCP, that's ridiculous!!!

weeonion long time no see!!

Clarabumps · 04/07/2008 21:00

All my pals are still doing the partying thing and i'm feeling a bit out the loop. Plus i've just found out that I am expecting again. ds is 1 on Monday, so there will be around 18 months difference. anyhoo.. that's me wee intro. how often do you all meet up and can i tag along to the next one?

Hi

I'm new on here and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Michelle and have a 22month old son and I stay in the knightswood area of Glasgow. I work nights as it's easier and means I don't have to pay out a fortune in childcare. Would like to meet up but don't know if I can make Wednesday as meant to be doing something but might see if I can change it to Tuesday. Is there anyone else who stays near knightswood.

Michelle
