Okay, it appears pick the Friday before half term is a tupid idea (see this thread) so we are trying again. Squiffy and I have come up with some more dates. Anyone who wants to join us is welcome to do so.

oooo... we are now booked into the private room at Patara where we will be sitting on the floor on cushions. She called to ask me "how many old people in you party"... It took me forever to understand her accent, and I finally replied, "Oh, none. We are all spring chikens" Ok, I didn't really say that. I'm sure my office enjoyed the conversation too. Though they are all pretenting not to have heard it.

Hope everyone is happy to sit on cushions!

I'm not at all sure that my knees will cope with sitting cross legged. but will find a way around it. (Knee replacement perhaps)

Private room? Oooo you must have scared them. We will now have to dress up and look as if we deserve it...

spring chickens? well, um, in my case we'd have to call it a 'genetically modified spring chicken', or maybe a '5-times-bigger real-lashes-mascara version of the truth chicken'

In case anyone is wondering, there is no charge for the room and it is the same menu.

Kew, are you okay with the cushions? I can call and try to undo it if you want.

depends how high the cushions are off the ground. I do have a problem with both knees (though one worse than the other) but tend to keep my mouth shut about it as it makes me feel like an old lady

magic monkey - I don't know any of these people either - at least I think I don't (may be surprised, I guess), but they assure me they're nice.

Also keen for a pre-dinner drink, will be coming from the wharf so ideally somewhere near bank, london bridge or spitalfields if there's any chance of that? I have no idea where you all are geographically.....

I'm in Brentford. Will be getting on the Gunnerbury District Line stop. And I am now pondering if I should just take the Friday off and party the night away... hey, girls just want to have fun you know.

hmm, well assuming I can get out at the closing bell, I vote for Royal Exchange at 5.30 or 5.45pm (thus allowing a quick drink and plenty of commuting time on the district line)

Oh fab. I was going to suggest the Royal Exchange myself. I can see we will get along fine, even without our MiFID manuals.

Don;t think she is Ele - I think her sis is over from Aus and Ma has applied three line whip!

The Royal Exchange is the enormous 'historic' building as you come out of Bank Station itself - there are steps up to the entrance and you go into a central atrium with posh shops around the edge and a wine/seafood bar in the centre (and also two bars on the first floor). I think if you come out at station exit no.5 it is right in front of you, but I will double check the exit number and report back.

I will get there early and slope round in the central bar bit wearing a carnation or something.

It is also v close to Cannon St, so we can whizz to South Ken in time for tea.
