For when the August thread runs out.

OP posts:

Paddle, we've had loads of problems with the council as well over CT, I think Hounslow are just rubbish tbh! Glad you're doing the course, and you can still enjoy dd's birthday parties.

I think the Kew membership is a great idea, and am happy to throw in a couple of extra quid if its needed. I'm planning on ringing 2cute next week, probably Monday, to see if she wants to meet.

Does anyone else want to meet up on Sunday?

sfxmum · 26/09/2007 13:37

sorry about council tax paddle

My heating is not working boo woo we had the boiler serviced a couple of months back to avoid this sort of thing happening and now it seems the pressure is too high for the heating to come on although the hot water is working fine.

bother guess will have to call a plumber but it costs and I resent it

sfxmum · 26/09/2007 13:42

also I was about to start ironing and wet the cord while I was filling the tank now I am worried about getting electrocuted if I switch it on
guess it shows how often I do this sort of thing

this is just the weather for some baking

Kewcumber · 26/09/2007 13:48

I have a really good roofer if anyone needs one. Think he has sorted my leak out.

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 13:52

sfx, can't you get the guy who serviced it to come and fix it? i am currently resisting switching the heating on. i prefer to sit here and freeze my ass off!

Ros, you're not wrong eh. Hounslow are rubbish on top of rubbish. I doubt Richmond will be any better but I shan't be sorry to say goodbye to Hounslow Council! Am still thinking Tuesday, will keep you posted.

ele, good perspective. at this rate i may not even see dd on her birthday as my mum had "booked" the day off to organise the family party from home. the only way we can organise it is for mum to take dd home with her. i am due in heathrow to collect sister the day after dd's b'day so not worth belting up to mum's after the course to see dd as will only have to come all the way back down to collect sister!

had thought of asking CM to cover but mum appalled that dd will be with CM on her b'day!!

ah well, it'll get sorted one way or t'other......

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 13:53

ps: clearly your iron is now a lethal weapon sfx. suggest you put it away until the cord is completely dry. this will take about a year i think.

lemonaid · 26/09/2007 13:55

A year will take you through to next September, though, when the weather may be getting a bit damp. I think 18 months at least, to be on the safe side.

rosmerta · 26/09/2007 14:02

Kew, actually we do need someone to take a look at our roof, could you email me his details? Thanks

sfxmum · 26/09/2007 14:05

bless you I knew I could count on you for housekeeping advice

don't want to switch heating on but I think it will be necessary in the evening because the bedroom can get too cold especially for dd.
don't know who dh got to do service and will not ask now because he will get even more doom and gloom than he already is

sfxmum · 26/09/2007 14:07

oh and Richmond are very strict about council tax and would not let a payment go by.
hounslow were very lax and disorganized with very poor customer service, not so Richmond - vote lib dem

Kewcumber · 26/09/2007 14:12

I don;t have them with me Ros but will email them to you later.

foxcub · 26/09/2007 15:59

sfx - what is this "iron" thing you talk about?

Kewcumber · 26/09/2007 16:11

I think I have an iron.

Kewcumber · 26/09/2007 16:12

I believe it may be in the junk utility room

foxcub · 26/09/2007 16:59

remember the Pirate suit

sfxmum · 26/09/2007 17:10

foxie - an implement which facilitates disease along the lines of tidynitis I believe.

I can't be bothered doing more than I have done already pretty much exhausted my monthly quota.

this has only been possible by plonking child in front of telly surrounded by various toys and that clearly very wrong and not very AP

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 18:22

anyone know where that allegedly huge M&S down the M3 is?

lemonaid · 26/09/2007 18:32

The Meadows, Sandhurst, Camberley (GU47 0FD if you want to look it up on multimap)

foxcub · 26/09/2007 18:36

A very large M&S ???

We could go for a day out there?

sfx Thanks for explaining that

SJ99 · 26/09/2007 19:44

Hi all, I hope that you are keeping well . Just back from Crete last night, fab holiday DS loved the beach and kept referring to the sea as the 'mimming pool! Have been frozen today, I guess autumn's arrived

SJ99 · 26/09/2007 19:54

Just had a quick scan to see what you've been up to. I gather 2cute's DH passed away unexpectedly, how awful for her and her little boy . Can someone tell me what happened as thread doesn't go back that far?? KC - Is it too late to contribute?
My thoughts are with her

Paddlechick666 · 26/09/2007 19:59

hi SJ, welcome back. sorry it's to such sad news.

2Cute's dh had a heart condition that we don't think anyone knew about. he was playing hockey a week ago Sunday and collapsed. her brother texted me early last week to let me know and 2Cute asked me to pass on the news.

the funeral was held yesterday and Ros, SFX, MrsR and I were able to go.

am sure there's room in the kitty for more funds especially as I think the plan is to buy 2cute a membership to Kew Gardens.

am going to try to arrange to see her either at the weekend or Tuesday.

Kewcumber · 26/09/2007 20:45

I also now recall that Sushi wanted to contribute before she went on holiday but didn;t have time.

SJ99 · 26/09/2007 20:48

Really sad news. When you see 2Cute please pass on my condolences to her and to her family.

Kew pass is a lovely idea

Kewcumber · 26/09/2007 21:06
