lol @ bods!

i'm keen on bidding for a cot duvet/pillow set.

however, having now cooked dinner (when toast would've been my choice!) am going to my room in a few mins for some ALONE-ness!

good skills foxie

ComeOVeneer · 30/09/2007 20:56

Hi all. Both LO's a bit under the weather still. Had a lovely meal with my parents (I made crab and smoked salmon filo baskets, mustard crusted rib of beef with all the trimmings and vanilla pannacotta with raspberry compote), then they took them to the park for an hour whilst dh and I relaxed. DD proudly showed off riding wihout her stabilisers.

Right then, can I have a head count of who is coming to mine on the 13th so I can plan the food.

rosmerta · 30/09/2007 21:31

Good luck for tomorrow foxie, and well done on the ebay bids! I'm currently watching a couple of items - books for my course.

I felt a bit guilty about how I put ds to bed so went back up 10 mins later and he finished the rest of his bottle. Hopefully he now realises no messing around when mummy's doing bedtime!

Paddle, hope you get your alone time.

rosmerta · 30/09/2007 21:59

Well, I've gone and done it now! I've joined Facebook!

And why am I chatting to myself? Guess I'll go now!

ComeOVeneer · 30/09/2007 22:02

Justed bumped the original thread for the meet up at mine ina fortnight to se who is still coming.

foxcub · 30/09/2007 22:29

rosmerta · 30/09/2007 22:50

A what? [scratching head emoticon]

I'm currently playing Scrabulous on Facebook

sfxmum · 01/10/2007 09:24

morning all

dd kept shouting about ants last nightnot a very restful sleep!

COV - unless last minute obstacle I will be coming, not fussy about food really.

foxie (not that you will be around since you are working from home)
hope cold is better.

ComeOVeneer · 01/10/2007 09:35

Morning all. Horrid night here. DS woke at 3am and was soaked through with sweat, and a leaked nappy, so gave him a quick sponge down and changed his bed, but he was hysterical and refused to go back in it. Paced around with him, rocked in the chair etc until 4.30am, when I gave up and gave him medised and took him to bed with me, but still no joy. I've got dd to school and dh to the station and he is now fast asleep in the car. Have to take the caar for MOT in 20mins, than hang around for a couple of hours until I can pick it up (assuming it doesn't need other work). I feel like it is Friday, not Monday morning (aaaarrrgghh).

Kewcumber · 01/10/2007 09:44

Hi all sorry for bas nights mine was OK - DS slept until 6am. Bliss - wished I'd been awake to appreciate it!

Foxie forgot to leave pirate stuff with CM but tis all ready (and washed) now so will drop off either at hers or yours this week. Or pop round one evening if you want to get out for a walk.

Good luck with first day at work (or home!)

eleusis · 01/10/2007 10:04

Mornin' all. Sorry about your nivght COV. I am very tired today but don't know why. I must be coming down with the cold that is circulating round west London. Ho hum... Wonder if it will be good enough to come and go before the weekend?

And speaking of the weekend, does anyone fancy a meet-up with kids either Saturday or Sunday? Dh is off with his brother so I am free to do as choose. We are going to church on Sunday, and probably going to work out early Saturday. But, other than the we are free.

Any takers?

Do you think it's too soon to see if 2cute wants to join us?

Kewcumber · 01/10/2007 10:16

Ele - I think its never too soon to ask her, she can turn you down if she's not ready.

Mrs R - forgot to transfer money to you, will do so tonight if brain is working.

Paddlechick666 · 01/10/2007 10:20

CoV, i can't make 13th.

I've got friends staying this weekend so, for once, I'll be busy all weekend!

2Cute's away till mid-week, am sure she'd appreciate a phone call and invite. I'm hoping to be able to catch up with her on my day off next week.

Oi! Foxie, don't pretend you're working and not lurking on here!

hope ds2 settles with CM okay.

foxcub · 01/10/2007 11:17

Hiya - shirlking from home

Well actually have lots of stuff to read but thought I'd better pop in here so I don't miss anything

CoV - I had an almost identical night with DS2 last night - woke up screaming at 2.30am - soaked in sweat, nappy soaked and screamed for 30 minutes. I changed him (amid much protesting) and rocked him to sleep. He did one big burp but apart from that I couldn't work out what was wrong.

Luckily lodger was out all last night - although he is adamanat he never hears DS2 'cos he's at the top of the house.

Does anyone know anyone who wants a room in Kew as our lodger is due to leave soon. Very pleasant double room with own bathroom. Very quiet and tranquil with nice view over the back gardens.

Rose - pescetarian is a veggie who eats fish (also known, rather rudely IMO, as "a weekend vegetarian" or "not a proper vegetarian")

Kew - no worries about outfit - either at CM or maybe Friday after work (I should be home by 4,30pm if you fancy coming round for a cuppa)

Am feeling slightly less crappo today - cold seems to be fading rather than me fading, as I was all weekend

I was in the bank this morning (only working 3 hrs BTW) and this woman I was chatting to said "how old are you, about 30?" - made my day!! Mind you she did have learning disabilities, but that doesn't mean she uis not a good judge of wrinkes

foxcub · 01/10/2007 11:19

BTW agree we should deffo invite 2cute - she will let us know if she feels she can make it

Paddle do you know how long she is away for?

Paddlechick666 · 01/10/2007 11:23

foxie, my houseguest could still be up for your room.

how much and how soon? time is of the essence otherwise dd might be visiting me in pentonville!

eleusis · 01/10/2007 11:32

I sent 2cute an e-mail. I don't know how often she checks e-mail but thought that was a bit less intrusive than a phone call. If she wants to ignore it she can. and if she wants to reply that's great.

Paddlechick666 · 01/10/2007 11:58

ele, she's away at the mo so may not get emails. same goes for a phone call tho, if she's not keen to speak she can let it go to voicemail.

i know it's all very sensitive but if it were me, i'd appreciate the human contact tbh.

rosmerta · 01/10/2007 12:28

I agree about contacting 2cute, I think if she doesn't want to talk/meet then she can ignore us but at least she knows we're around if she does.

Foxie - Ahh, now its all clear. I remember having an argument with a friend back when I was a vegetarian. I didn't eat meat then cos I didn't particularly like it but she said I wasn't a proper vegetarian because they object to people eating meat and I didn't!

Cov - I will check about the 13th.

stepfordwife · 01/10/2007 12:49

hi ya chaps
how you all diddling?
been a tad busy with the RL thing..

took 6 of ds1's schoolpals, plus dd and dh in tow, to imax cinema at science museum (dinosaurs 3d!) on sat then out for a pizza for his birthday treat.

with a hangover (me not them). wtf was i thinking?!!! deep breaths, i'm finer now (twitch)
they were as well behaved as a group of excited boys can be, actually, it was just the responsibility of taking them on the tube and not losing them. by the end of the day, i was bit of a SHOUTY MUM..

how's shirking from home, foxie? i have gort shed loads of work to get through because of my childcare probs but, hopefully over, now i've found a lovely childminder
how did ds2 get on?

dd is there today for me to "catch-up" (as you can tell). and, kew, your ds looked particularly cute today. CM told me you knitted his jumper. forgive me, my friend, but i didn't have you down as a knitter!? apologies if wrong (purls before swine).

paddle - hang in there, it can be really stressful having a long-term houseguest..

hi everyone else..will read thread properly later
toodlepip

stepfordwife · 01/10/2007 12:53

kew, re aforementioned jumper, your ds was very proudly pointing at all the different colour flecks in it for me and gave me a big grin when i paticularly admired the buttons. very sweet.

cov, am still hoping to make the 13th. dh is returning from india that evening but, as long as flight not delayed, should be back in time for me to go out

stepfordwife · 01/10/2007 12:55

...oh and i'm a full-time vegetarian

Kewcumber · 01/10/2007 13:32

steppie I did indeed knit the said jumper whilst waiting for a match with the then unknown child of unkown size! I also have a reb double breasted cardigan (very tasteful I might add) which is way way too small for him probably 6-9 months if anyone knows someone who would like it.

knitting is my guilty secret but I don;t do it very often so don;t feel the need to come clean.

but thanks for "outing" me

PS - shouldn't you be working?

Kewcumber · 01/10/2007 13:33

I am a occasionally lapsed Craparian. If its full of crap thats bad for me, then I crave it but occasionally resist.
