Hi sj & everyone else!

My mum came down yesterday so we've been out and about. We ended up drinking 2 bottles of wine last night but she got up with ds this morning, typical he slept till 8.30 .

Happy belated birthdays to minisfx & paddle!

mellow2 · 03/06/2007 15:42

Sfx,
Minisfx looks really pretty in her party dress.

Hi SJ,
Hope to meet you when you move. I live in Brentford and I have a 13-month old dd.

We bought a tower fan from John Lewis as it gets too hot in our flat at night to sleep.

It really helps.

Kewcumber · 03/06/2007 15:53

I'm having to wake up DS - still asleep afer going for a nap at 12.45!!!! He's in the pool for 10 mins and crashes for the whole afternoon!! So no Chiswick park for me am just going to drag him over to my mums for a change of scene.

Paddlechick666 · 03/06/2007 18:01

evening all, just got back from my mums.

wasn't the most spectacular of birthdays as my bro didn't show up (hungover) and ma was really pissed off and i didn't get any presents

ah well, dd had a great time anyway.

SJ, welcome and well done for finding us. I am well and truly outed now eh!

foxcub · 03/06/2007 19:14

Paddle - no presents? That's a sign of being a grown up

QC - DS2 does that too - dip him in the bath and he's out for hours afterwards!!

I actually did some gardening this afternoon!!!

Now I'm going to have a beer, BF DS2 and play Janis Joplin!

Kewcumber · 03/06/2007 19:23

paddle - I have the insulated cup with straw that I bought with you in Tesco. Ds just can;t get on with it (keeps tipping it up) so if you want it, remind me next time I see you.

pudding I have your plastic box you brought the mince around in (nicely washed of course)

Kewcumber · 03/06/2007 19:24

sorry about the lack of presents - didn;t your mum even buy you anything? I can always rely on my mum!

Kewcumber · 03/06/2007 19:25

I have bought you a present... its an insulated cup from Tesco, bought it specially for you to drink your iced tea on the way to work.

sfxmum · 03/06/2007 20:52

no present paddle! poop to that lets go swimming tuesday and have cake

am really tired now dd still chirpy we just had the rest of the cake with ice cream nothing like a sugar rush at bedtime

must post pic of cake dh's valiant efort at a character cake

Paddlechick666 · 03/06/2007 21:15

aw thanks! i did get a chocolate cake made for me.

ma says there will be a present but they couldn't decide what so..... altho i wasn't asked what i'd like there was some mumbling about when i move if i need something.

yeah that'd be great coz i've only got two lots of furniture to fit into 1 flat!

kewC, ta for offer of cup but we've already got one like that.

old deer park swimming sounds good on tues. dd doesn't have any bathers yet this year so hoping a swim nappy is sufficient?

Paddlechick666 · 03/06/2007 21:15

gotta say, they could've got me something little like smellies or chocs for dd to give me.

foxcub · 03/06/2007 22:08

I agree - specially the chocs!!

I bet you were anticipating a nice little something and felt all sad and let down..

Poor Paddle

mellow2 · 03/06/2007 22:12

Sorry that you didn't get any presents, paddle. That's a bummer.

ComeOVeneer · 03/06/2007 22:13

Sorry your b'day wasn't so great paddle

Well we have the children back and although it was fantastic to have time together and we loved it, I really missed them.

Paddlechick666 · 03/06/2007 22:16

foxie, yeah i did a bit. altho i know ma has been run ragged with sdad as he put his back out so......

thanks for the nice words tho.

maybe i'll get some sort of cosmic gift eh!

;-)

lemonaid · 03/06/2007 22:19

Just back from holiday and trying to catch up by speed-reading thread, probably missing all the good bits in the process.

I'll look into dates -- am going to see the Wiggles on June 15 with DS so not sure if I'll need to lie down in a darkened room that evening...

SJ99 · 04/06/2007 12:15

Thanks for all the welcomes

Paddle - Sorry your birthday wasn't more special, bummer.

I'm not going to be living too far from Twickers train stn and the high st, but I've never been so I don't have any sense of what the place is like. Looking forward to exploring though. I'm a SAHM. Are there any hot spots in the area that you regularly go to and would recommend?

Paddlechick666 · 04/06/2007 12:27

Hi SJ, you'll be about 5 mins from me in the car then. For now at least, I'll have to move at some point in the near-ish future....

As for hotspots, they tend to be Kew, Syon, Chiswick House for garden/outdoor type stuff. Lollipop club at London Welsh and Childsplay Cafe for indoor type stuff.

And Foxie's or KewCumber's for tea, margaritas, paddling pools and general frivolities!!

And my place for any ad-hoc coffee and cake moments.

We went, en masse, to Bockets Farm a while back too.

Activities sans les enfants (where's Nanou? I want some praise for this!!) tend to involve restaurants around the area with a reasonable price list and good transport links.

Next one is being planned now for June at Pizza Rustica near Richmond Station.

ps: I must add I did get 3 actual gifts. One from MIL, one from shewhoisbuggeringofftoS'pore and one from bestfriend. DH's card says gift is in his wallet........

stepfordwife · 04/06/2007 13:14

hi y'all..
hope all well

welcome SJ i have ds1, 7, ds2, nearly 6, and dd, 2.

sorry you didn't have a fab birthday, paddle..we'll give you the bumps next time we see you. there, feeling better already, aren't you?!

and happy (belated) birthday to mini-sfx. is she in her own bed yet, sfx? just ask that as dd now in her own bed (from saturday!)she looks so grown-up suddenly. seems a milestone when they're not in a cot anymore, doesn't it?

and so much more convenient for her..now she doesn't have to wail until we get her, now she can just get out of bed and come into our room herself in the middle of the night.

yes, yes, it's on my (ever-growing) "to do" list....get dd to stay in her bed.

foxcub · 04/06/2007 13:34

Hi lemonaid [waves]

SJ - my Twickers Hotspots are the huge Waitrose and the Huge Tescos

Kewcumber · 04/06/2007 13:35

DS is stayiong in his cot until his feet and head wedge him in or until he learns to climb out. I hoping to hang out until he is 11.

foxcub · 04/06/2007 13:35

MrsR - I have your CDs and cat paraphenalia (didn't realise that cats have just as much "stuff" as babies by the looks of it! [sock] )

foxcub · 04/06/2007 13:36

sock????

Kewcumber · 04/06/2007 13:36

where did you go Lemon? "we must do this more often" she said in Richmond park on our Mile for Maude then buggered off not to be seen again

foxcub · 04/06/2007 13:37

Ds1 has a playdate tonight - the boy who buggered our computer last time - so will ensure they play in the garden. I'd much rather they smash a window with their football than wreck my PC!!
