Almost made it to the end of the month. Children are gone. I am free until Sunday lunch

I think you are talking about Hvar. I'm pondering Zageb (capital) or Dubrovnik. Think I can get a ferry over to Hvar, but I'm really more of a a city person.

foxcub · 15/06/2007 16:16

Hi everyone - agree about the sore bums linked to teething

Paddle/KC - have a great arvo tomorrow

had my hair cut this morning. DS2 had three hairdressing assistants all fighting over him!

Dh is sanding all the floors (still!)

mellow2 · 15/06/2007 17:48

Foxie,
I don't think I could take dd with me to a hair salon when she was ds2's age. She would scream the place down within half an hour.

I've just had a buggy rage incident in a packed bus . I really have to get myself a driving licence.

Paddlechick666 · 15/06/2007 18:06

lol @ buggy rage!

car insurance reminder came today, for an extra £14 i can get road rage cover LOL!

Kewcumber · 15/06/2007 19:47

I think you'll find thats called legal cover paddle. Funnily enough I renewed my car insurance today and ticked legal cover because of Foxies problem - never have before but thoguht it might ocme in useful one day...

Paddlechick666 · 15/06/2007 19:50

no it's listed as a separate option "Extra Personal Accident & Road Rage cover for yourself and passengers" is exactly what it says!

I'm guessing they mean a road rage incident against you rather than one you've instigated yourself LOL.

Kewcumber · 15/06/2007 19:52

never seen that before!

Kewcumber · 15/06/2007 22:33

foxie how about these people for your floor www.thrifthandy.org.uk/about.asp

sfxmum · 16/06/2007 18:12

where is everyone? nursing hangovers from night out?

probably having a life i guess

anyway i have broadband again at long last

have a nice weekend all

Kewcumber · 16/06/2007 19:38

congrats on your broadband sfx. welcome back to the "proper" world, not that nasty real life stuff

sfxmum · 16/06/2007 19:47

even dd was complaining that the cbeebies website was too slow and unreliable! cyber toddler that she is

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 19:55

welcome back sfx!

Btw, there were only 3 of us out last night! But it was still a good night.

I've been to the opticians today, hate having my eyes tested, always seem to get a headache afterwards, and of course, it always ends up costing me around £400!

Kewcumber · 16/06/2007 20:10

did you survive bathtime/bedtime Paddle?????

Paddlechick666 · 16/06/2007 20:44

I did thanks QC. fds went out like a light, my dd took a bit longer then fdd had her grown up bubble bath and went off about 8pm.

had a few little tears and an "i want my mum" but she cheered up and we had a chat about fish and whales and she was right.

bloody next door have got this rescue dog and gone out and left it - it's howling like something out of a horror movie!

thanks so much for coming over. hope you enjoyed yourselves. bedlam eh! LOL.

quokka, play-do was fantastic! sparkles everywhere.

i'm exhausted!!!!!!!!

sfxmum · 16/06/2007 20:55

only 3 out? that is shocking

puds - optician and dentists have so far been more expensive that my child i think, and these genes i am passing on

i thought you were abroad paddle, clearly can't keep up.

does quokka have her maid yet?

foxcub · 16/06/2007 21:30

Hi - paddle did babysitting go OK?

Kew - thanx for that, I've had some quotes today actually and met a couple of people who seem good. One lot who came would have been more suited to people smuggling than tiling, they were so scary!

Monti latched onto the end of my nose in Tescos today

We're still knee deep in floor sanding here.

Have my bookclub tomorrow and I'm hosting, so hangovers all round

pudding77 · 16/06/2007 21:54

I know what you mean sfx, so praying ds doesn't inherit my eyesight!

How's everyone tonight?

And foxie, I thought you were supposed to be joining us last night?!

foxcub · 16/06/2007 22:23

OMG Puds I completely forgot about it!!! The thread dropped off my list

ComeOVeneer · 17/06/2007 20:57

Hi all. Hope you had a good weekend. I am absolutley knackered after our weekend. Lunch yesterday was a great sucess then we went to the park, and a BBQ in the evening. DD had a nightmare and ended up in our bed at 2am for the rest of the night. We went to Kew for the day with a picnic so loads of walking etc. Then home for another bbq before IL's left an hour or so ago. Have tidy the house, put kids to bed, got stuff ready for school tomorrow (packed lunch, uniform etc). Dh is currently asleepin front of the golf on tv and I am having as well deserved glass of wine. BTW paddle were youat Kew this afternoon (C+C at about 3-4 pm)? I swear I saw your dd but couldn't see you, then ds did his famous disappearing act for nearly 5 mins (we were all frantic - it seems he has learnt to climb down the blue rope ladder down the side of the "bubble house" thingy and went AWOL), and I didn't see her/you again.

Foxie,
Are you online? Are you watching Sex, The City, and Me on BBC2?

foxcub · 17/06/2007 22:14

Mellow - thanx for the reminder

Do you think its a bit far fetched? Maybe that's what its like in the city - its a bit off putting to me atm LOL!

foxcub · 17/06/2007 22:24

Meeting with my boss tomorropw at 11.30am to try and resolve the issues - wish me luck everyone !!!

mellow2 · 17/06/2007 22:31

Good luck, foxie!!

I was a bit disappointed with the show. I thought it was a bit trite and she only managed to win the tribunal because the female cleaner helped her?!

sfxmum · 17/06/2007 22:36

good luck for tomorrow foxie

if all else fails i guess you can always take ds2 and pop boob out to feed them while negotiating, that might throw themthen again maybe not

foxcub · 18/06/2007 10:24

sfx - I may have mentioned this before but I used to have a male boss who used to try and peer down my cleavage during supervision meetings. He met me for lunch once when I was on maternity leave with DS1 and I had to BF the baby. Man, that guy was Sooooooooo embarassed - he didn't know where to look Ha Ha Ha

Mellow - that programme annoyed me too - it just wasn't plausible really. They could have been a lot more subtle and intelligent about getting the messag eacross. Also they could have showed her being a Mum a bit more, to protray the difficulty women have juggling work/parenthood. A bit of a let down really and didn't make me relish the thought of my meeting today either!
