Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

thats perfect thanks sue, i guess if no room i can always leave the stroller behind

foxabout2pop · 21/02/2007 15:28

Sue - you can add more avocado to make it firmer - or more oranges to make a kind of smoothie - ever so healthy too (oooh I lurve bood oranges)

If anyone else wants to try it: 3 ripe oranges + 1 avocado blended together - yum!!

My other receipe is:

1 whole galia or honeydew melon + 3 cardomum pods, blended. It makes a smoothie drink from heaven!!

Willput my domestic godess hat away now!

pudding77 · 21/02/2007 15:29

Hi sfx, he is trying to move onto one nap but still gets tired in the morning and sometimes will have 30min nap, which is what happened today! I got him up again and we played for another hour or so and he's gone off now!

pudding77 · 21/02/2007 15:31

foxie, they sound delicious. I've been copying the innocent smoothie recipes for ds!

suejonez · 21/02/2007 15:34

Pudding - how old is your DS? D is self-weaning off the afternoon nap but is still shattered by 11am so sleeps 11-12 then nothing until 7pm! I am trying to move the morning nap back but wihtout success so far - think I probably need to do it more gradually.

Foxie I am going to try freezing a portion of it to see if it will make a nice healthy ice cream. Sadly not keen on smoothies I dont like the texture (though strangely do like milk shakes!)

sfxmum · 21/02/2007 15:38

i love smoothies but i usually make them with yogurt and sometimes add oats much to dh disgust i like it quite creamy almost spoon standing

suejonez · 21/02/2007 15:39

YUK - I think orange juice is too thick sometimes!

Didn't Cov say she could bring a spare buggy for you? Or Paddle will probably have room.

pudding77 · 21/02/2007 15:46

Sue, ds is 13 months now. Sounds v similar to your ds that he's shattered by 11.30 which is when I try and give him his lunch now then he'll goes down for a couple of hours.

My SIL did it by reducing her ds's morning naps by 15 mins each week.

suejonez · 21/02/2007 15:52

Don;t think D has EVER slept for 2 hours during the day - even when I'v been able to hold him out until after lunch (occasionally) he doesn;t seem to sleep more than and hour (occasionally 1.5 hrs). Maybe he will when he's in more of a routine.

sfxmum · 21/02/2007 17:27

sue - yes i think i remember than

about naps when the transition stage happens i find it useful having short periods of calm cuddles with no noise just a song or quiet story, it's the equivalent of a cuppa break for a grown up, seems to help and she refreshes without many naps at odd times cutting into night sleep.

Eleusis · 21/02/2007 17:40

I find if you go in at 6:00am and flick the light on and pronounce "mornin' kiddies, rise and shine!" then they take longer naps in the afternoon.

Paddlechick666 · 21/02/2007 17:41

dd's naps are all over the place at the mo too.

honestly i think it's the change in weather and light.

she's down to a short half hour around 10ish and if i'm lucky 45 mins around 2ish.

thank god, she's mostly down by 7:15pm till at least 6 if not 7 or somewhere in between.

just when you think you've got 'em sussed, they change!!

How are you paddle. I hope I wasn't talking out of turn earlier.

Paddlechick666 · 21/02/2007 17:48

hi ele

sorry, i meant to post to you earlier but we were rushing out the door.

it's cool. i appreciate your point of view and honesty with it.

i know a proportion of the situation is down to his choice. thing is, nothing seems to get thru to him.

other people in other relationships have a row, or a strop or make threats and solutions are found and the person in the wrong apologises or at least gets their act together and tries to rectify their behaviour.

thing about dh is that he just doesn't. thing also is, this is not like him. completely out of character.

which is another reason why i hang in there.....

how's the pox going? i would bring dd over to get infected but actually don't think i could cope with pox right now!

I've got ds down to one nap a day and he's only 6 months tomorrow

No seriously, can't wait for kids to go back to school and he regains his routine of two long naps - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

At least he slept through the night last night . Fingers crossed for tonight so I'm not going round with a permanent yawn tomorrow. And let's hope the weather holds out - wasn't it lovely today?

foxabout2pop · 21/02/2007 19:31

MrsR - can't wait to meet your older DCs tomorrow!

BTW the combing with conditioner worked a treat this morning !!

Paddle - enjoying your evening?

Sue that melon drink is lovely in the summer. I was talking to B earlier and she sadi your DS ate loads today and had two naps I couldn't hear him screaming BTW

Our new mortgage completed today. As our fixed rate also ended today (meaning a potential £200 per month increase in payments) the new deal is saving us an actual £400 per. month from today!! - all good stuff re. stretching my maternity leave out as long as possible.

suejonez · 21/02/2007 19:33

obviously D had a lovely time at CM (tied to ride on her dogs back apparently!) and wheedled her daughter into carrying him half the day (oh god rods and backs come to mind.

He slept for an 1.5 hrs this morning and another 1.5 this afternoon. Has gone to bed at 7 as normal quite happily but I can hear him singing to himself so he obviously isn;t as tired as normal. But thats fine if he's just going to sing rather than scream.

suejonez · 21/02/2007 19:35

Oh yes I forgot to say that he ate loads then came home and polished off fishfingers and peas and a load of your orange and avocado desert Foxie.

Are we allowed fishfingers on Mumsnet?

foxabout2pop · 21/02/2007 19:37

Sue

We adore fish fingers on MN!!!!

suejonez · 21/02/2007 19:39

They're not organic Foxie - just BirdsEYe. Wouldn;t want to be thrown out for non-mumsnet-like behaviour.

PS Paddle you get a mention on the final page of my blog so check it out.

Paddlechick666 · 21/02/2007 19:49

evening all

sitting here caked in conditioner about to get to grips with the nit comb i've borrowed from the harbinger!

so far so good - at least dd hasn't woken mid showering of hair!

sue, i didn't think you'd be able to make me blub again but bugger me you have!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 21/02/2007 19:50

ps: fishfingers are brilliant.

after seeing your skillful feeding of avacado in it's skin to your boy sitting on your knee i wondered if you hadn't had some real life parenting coaching.

now i hear about the fishfingers and i'm sure!

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 21/02/2007 20:16

foxie - glad to hear the conditioner worked I really do swear by it.

We remortgaged to save money and let me have a long maternity leave which is now up and I'm meant to be going back to work. But a nice big settlement from the insurance company has given me some more time off - see when life is at its darkest, the best is yet to come.

Sue your DC sounds like she's got it sussed re. the naps. Lets hope your ds has a chat to my ds in baby language to tell him that he should be napping during the day. We are so looking forward to meeting him tomorrow.

Eleusis · 21/02/2007 20:29

Fish finger are great, so long as they are the birdseye made only from fish fillet variety. I would never buy the cheapo value variety. But Birdseye is my friend.

You can get salmon bites a tescos. Just like fish fingers bu made from chunks of salmon. Omega3's for my atention span of gnat hree year old always welcome.

Paddlechick666 · 21/02/2007 20:30

I FOUND NOTHING!!!!!!

NOT A TIDDLY ITSY BITSY THING!

can i make some supper now?
