gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 23:45

what are you guys up to then? who's meeting this monday?
just feeling nosey...

PhoenixGirl · 27/01/2007 23:51

Oooooooo noooooooooooooooo i don't iron. It's so pointless. Nothing gets ioned in this house except dh's uniform but he does that himself. Everything else folded and put away straight from the dryer

U're ll gonna be examining my clothes on the meet up now aren't u?

Hi stinkypete. Me going Monday.

How was dd's birthday? Did u have a party?

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 23:54

I don't think I will even be able to talk to you! Ha ha! It was the first time dd had her pleats ironed in her school skirt, but that was because they had all dropped out and she looked so scruffy on friday! Most stuff gets ironed by MIL's cleaning slave . I f-ing hate ironing!

gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 23:55

I'm going monday too stinky. Are you coming?

PhoenixGirl · 27/01/2007 23:56

That's why i stopped it gingermonkey hate it and could never do it anyway. Most things look creased again after a few minutes on anyway so i thought what's the point?? I so can't be arsed doing it.

birthday was absolutely brill thanks. she had quite a few visitors. I did an open invitation to a few close friends rather than a party as such, and it worked out really well. Then we went to a party at Funworld at Mapp for one of ds's nursery friends. DD wore a beautiful party frock and i was just so proud!!!
What are you doing for ds's?

AM totally going to be looking at your clothes next time!!

PhoenixGirl · 27/01/2007 23:58

Can u make the Feb meet Stinky? Will be nice to see you again.

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 23:58

Me neither. I just occasionally attempt it, just to prove I am doing my sahm job properly!

StinkyPete · 27/01/2007 23:59

i can't make it monday (am at work sadly).

Is it just me? but I'm forgetting whoswho
I'm in Darton - have ds nearly4 and dd just turned1

gingermonkey · 28/01/2007 00:01

I'm in Midgley, dd (7), ds (16mths). Haven't met anyone before.

StinkyPete · 28/01/2007 00:04

ginger - where are you originally from?

PhoenixGirl · 28/01/2007 00:05

I've got his birthday (fri 9th) off work so gonna take him to a soft play place with dh in the afternoon. Then have a birthday cake for him. We'll prob have visitors at some point in the day.

We were gonna have a party but we've just ordered a new carpet for living room so don't really want that spoiling plus all family live in Wakey and don't even know there way to our house so thought it pointless getting food/drink in if no one's gona come iykwim.

I'm not at all bothered if u stare at my clothes it won't make me start ironing again

Suffolk. I'm a yorkshire lass by proxy! Been in Midgley for 6 years, walton before that for 2 and Leeds before that for 2.

PhoenixGirl · 28/01/2007 00:06

Lewis woke up in the middle of me writing that so it took ages to post.

gingermonkey · 28/01/2007 00:07

I'm ironing right now and posting too, makes it so much more enjoyable!

PhoenixGirl · 28/01/2007 00:08

Ironing enjoyable? i don't think so.

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 28/01/2007 00:09

I know, I'm just trying to convince myself. Just knackered one of dd's school shirts - iron too hot! Told you I'm no good at it!

StinkyPete · 28/01/2007 00:09

phoenix - sounds lovely. i think it's easy to overwhelm them on their first birthday.

ginger - what brought you to Midgely then? and do you like it? I'm just really nosey cos I grew up there and couldn't wait to get out and inot a town!!

gingermonkey · 28/01/2007 00:12

well, theres f all here! The house is nice, no garden and a shared drive but you can't have everything (ok, you can, but only if you are a multi millionaire which this week I am not!). DH is from wakey (sandal) so he is the reason I moved here. I am not overly excited by wakey but it's so close to Leeds and has everything you need (sainsburys, boots).

StinkyPete · 28/01/2007 00:17

where's dd at school? wht are you thinking for high school? (I went to netherton, but neighbours went to west bretton)

PhoenixGirl · 28/01/2007 00:19

Both me and dh are from wakey (me near town centre, dh Eastmoor) Now live in Barnsley (he's been married before and had this house when thy split so i moved in with him) all our family's still in Wakey, both work in Wakey (me Royal Mail, him Redcats (Empire Stores) on security) but the houses are so bloody expensive there we can't afford to move back into wakey (mainly cos we're crap with money )
