oh and phoenix, leapfrogs is £2.85; Chestnut tree is £2. I'm sure jellybeans won't be much different.

gingermonkey · 24/01/2007 22:40

cream cakes, hot choc with cream, home made biscuits, jellybeans does sound very good.

Chloe55 · 25/01/2007 09:23

Jellybeans is def better for young 'uns but Leapfrogs is much bigger and has an amazing climbing frame thingy. At least at Jellybeans you can see everything from your table.

gingermonkey · 25/01/2007 10:49

I have lived a sheltered life and have never been to these places...it's criminal really, they are only down the road from me.

Hanlou007 · 25/01/2007 12:09

Ginger monkey we can explore together if you want .... I need to get away from balamory

gingermonkey · 25/01/2007 12:28

Hooray - the southerners are going to explore! I need to escape the clutches of Nick Jr, which I am finding a bit too addictive for a woman in her 30s (especially wonderpets and Backyardigans)

Hanlou007 · 25/01/2007 15:00

I love Backyardigans....We have had a postamn pat marathon today....she love it

gingermonkey · 25/01/2007 17:23

I'm sure postman pat has changed since I was a girl! Does he have a son now? And has the theme tune changed, or did I imagine that? Have you seen that rainbow is on (yes, the same episodes from when we were kids). I can't bring myself to watch it just in case it ruins the magic, I loved that programme so very much! Especially George, the big wet gay hippo.

Chloe55 · 25/01/2007 17:44

Errrmmm, yes, you ladies really do need to get out

gingermonkey · 25/01/2007 18:01

Chloe, I went all the way to London this week, on a train! Can you imagine the stress? The hotel had no Nick Jr, I was horrified! I had to walk around the shops instead, awful, truly awful! But fortunately ds didn't sleep in the hotel so I came home a day early and left dh to it, bless him - pretending to work when really he's been shopping and lunching it all day

Hanlou007 · 25/01/2007 18:53

Balamory on now....I feel like Miss Hollie is my best friend i see her so much....

DD2 is a bit poorly so been in most of the day apart from my exciting walk to Morrisons... Can life get any better

gingermonkey · 25/01/2007 19:04

DD has hijacked the telly and is watching the teenage programmes on the disneychannel, Lizzie Maguire or something. She is sprawled out on the sofa, trying to eat an apple without front teeth (she's lost 5 in 2 weeks - looks like dracula!). She is also moaning because she's bored and wants to go out and call for someone, despite it being dark and 7pm...you have all this to come hanlou!!!

Hanlou007 · 25/01/2007 22:09

I am dreading them when they are 13....i saw my sisters who are 14mths age difference and they were hell.

thethirdwisemonkey · 26/01/2007 16:23

Hi everyone
sorry I haven't been around for ages, due to my birthday, resigning from work, loads of other stuff blah blah blah.
Gingermokey would love to meet up sometime, I'm a SAHM too so the world is our oyster - wahey - well kind of !!! you're literally just down the road from us.
Sarah Hal - How are you lady? work still good? Ta for the invite on the 23rd but Leapfrogs during school hols arghhhhhhh - ds will get squished. Any other non hols time would be great. We'll have to do something on a weekend or something!!!
Right better go and pretend to do some chores.
Ginger - pm me if you want to arrange something.

sarahhal · 26/01/2007 18:57

Hope you had a good birthday Thirdwiselady! The Leapfrogs play has changed to Jellybeans after we all had similar horror of school hol play places!!

gingermonkey · 26/01/2007 19:00

wisemonkey, are you coming to jellybeans on monday? (this one coming) We are meeting at 10am in the car park (because me and hanlou are southern jessies and afraid that we will try and befriend the wrong people!!! Happy birthday, did you do anything nice?

gingermonkey · 26/01/2007 19:40

Hanlou, shudder at the thought of your 2 in 10 or 12 years! I have a 6 yr age gap between dd and ds, so all I get at the mo is 'MUMMY, GET HIM OUT MY ROOM!!!!' Poor little man, it will just get worse for him as she gets older, I think boys are more easy going, girls are secretive little buggers

Hanlou007 · 26/01/2007 20:19

When i was a nanny i looked after mainly girls....The 1st little boy i looked after i was shocked how easy he was...Girls are mentally exhausting

thethirdwisemonkey · 26/01/2007 20:33

oh bum I'm not free on Monday, that'll teach me to not read mumsnet !!
I had a lovely birthday thanks, we went to Chester Zoo. First visit for ds who shouted ahh at all the animal enclosures even the empty ones and continued to shout ahhh at sparrows and passing children !!! Unfortunately we got stuck in BAD snow on the Woodhead Pass on the way home but all in all added to the excitement of the day!!
When's the next meet up?

gingermonkey · 26/01/2007 21:24

Hanlou, it's amazing how different they are. DD was (and still is) so needy. She started tantrums at 10 mths and was always wanting attention. Ds is really calm and chilled out. They have been brought up the same but are so different in every way. Everyone asks me if he has a temper (being a ginge) but it's dd with the temper and she has brown hair.
wisemonkey (love the new name!) the next meet is planned for feb 23rd still, but I'm free and easy so I'm sure there will be another one before then, because that seems ages away! I need to escape Nick Jr and hanlou is considering rehab for her cbeebies addiction . WE NEED TO GET OUT OF THE HOUSE MORE!!!!!!

thethirdwisemonkey · 27/01/2007 19:11

Definitely, I saw Aunty Mabel and Pippin 3 bl**dy times the other day, crikey how much info do I need about how pencils are made? Well after next week I'm free most Mondays, Thursdays and some Fridays. If you want to make a jailbreak?? Glad you like my new name!

PhoenixGirl · 27/01/2007 19:45

I'm lost, who were u before?

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 19:58

Excellent. I'm free mondays. Thursdays I have a personal training session at the gym (paranoid I'll get bingo wings some time soon!) and fridays gingermonkey is at nursery (so mummymonkey goes swimming and has a facial! it's a hard life being a SAHM) Aunty f-ing Mabel and her dog make me want to pull my eyelashes out! She was the 'love interest' (if you can call it that) in open all hours, wasn't she? What was she called in that? I think I'm showing my age...

PhoenixGirl · 27/01/2007 20:01

Nurse Gladys (sp?) in open all hours

OP posts:
gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 20:11

Thank you phoenix. And you are younger than me so I feel better now! (wisemonkey was wisewoman a couple of weeks ago, by the way)

Was just in your place of work the other day with gingermonkey, picking up a parcel I had missed, yet again. It's no good when regular postie, Kev, isn't working - he just signs for me and leaves them on the doorstop, bless 'im and he doesn't ring the doorbell early on a saturday just in case we are having a lie in - fat chance!!!!!
