hey foxie, hope you're feeling better! Have the local shops ran out of chocolate now? [cheeky grin]

Paddle, I'm having a bad time sleeping atm as well, though I'm struggling to get to sleep! Result's the same though, I am so tired today, I cooked some pasta sauce for ds's lunch, went out for about 2hrs and hadn't realised I'd left the hob on (with the pan still on it) . Fortunately, the house still standing!

uwila, that video brightened my morning up anyway

pudding77 · 31/01/2007 15:11

Sue - I've sorted out some coats & hats for you. Just let me know when you'd like them.

foxabout2pop · 31/01/2007 15:35

2cute/Uwila - we used Snakes & ladders in Syon park for DS's last birthday. It was £130 for 1.5 hours play and half hour food, with food and party bags provided by them (we just provided the Dalek cake )

In the end they gave us extra party bags free for some younger siblings who gatecrashed, plus under charged me by about £35 for some reason, so it was very good value.

The staff were fab and DS really enjoyed it.

They have the different play area - 0-3, 2-4, 4 upwards etc and an outdoor adventure playground.

Paddlechick666 · 31/01/2007 15:42

foxie, pick up yer phone!

mellow2 · 31/01/2007 15:53

Foxie,
I totally relate to your braxton hicks experience. I used to get them all the time.

Nanou1 · 31/01/2007 15:54

uwila / 2cute... dd's creche would do it for £70 for 4 hours... was thinking about it last night too. cashflow problems this end - maybe we'll just have to have a very few people only and do it at home .... dont know... have just found out the tax man wants 9K from us and wondering whether i should top myself now.... cyber hugs greatly welcome... keep thinking i am going to wake up from an awful nightmare...

mellow2 · 31/01/2007 16:01

Nanou,
Sorry to hear about your tax bill. Cyberhugs your way.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{nanou}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

lemonaid · 31/01/2007 16:12

Gymboree is good for small person parties (we've been to some there). I don't know how much it costs, though.

We had DS's 2nd birthday party at Blue Kangaroo on the King's Road, which was very good and did everything for me . I did think it was expensive but not £500 so now I think I got a bargain...

£9K tax!?!?!?!!!! [faint]

sfxmum · 31/01/2007 16:15

good grief nanou

Nanou1 · 31/01/2007 16:22

i know ... total shock... G & T AND chocolate for me tonight....

pudding77 · 31/01/2007 17:16

{{{{{{hugs}}}}} for nanou!

MrsBigD · 31/01/2007 17:37

@ Nanou's tax bill. Time to start looking into a lucrativ sideline... I'll be taking lo's to a cooking club that a woman hold at her house. Might be an idea for you? dd enjoyed making the muffins

before I forget - good place for picnics in the summer is Kew green on Sunday afternoons. The ladies of the church do tea and sandwiches and cakes (so no need to pack) and the children can run around on the green. The open afetr Easter I think and something like 1pm -4pm.

And its very cheap...

foxabout2pop · 31/01/2007 19:20

Sue that sounds like a good venue for a meet up. Remember when we went to the fair with Uwila and the DCs were all playing in the grave yard?

Nanou!!!! what a shock. We've got tax credit demand for £4.5 hanging over us - so yours is twice as horrendous - can you pay in installments? Is there an appeal process?

Hi everyone else

Mellow, I didn't really get BH with DS and DD so its a new feeling...they're odd aren't they?

lemonaid · 31/01/2007 19:39

OT -- anyone in need of cheering up should check out this thread . But maybe not Foxie, in her current condition

quokka · 31/01/2007 19:45

cpc cost about £100 including food and drinks for kids and adults. You can get a bouncy castle for an extra £45 . I found it really hard to find somewhere that would just do the room.

God you guys have been busy on here today! sorry about the tax bill nanou . We got stung this week, the car got clamped and we got a fine for forgetting to pay the tax disc!!! How stupid is that, it ran out in Sept 06 we just totally forgot it . Doesn't help that dh doesn't open his mail so didn't see the fines.

xoxo · 31/01/2007 19:53

This site has turned into porn and tax fest.
Thank god for teh chocolate contributions.

Hugs to all, sorry so absent these days but find I'm knackered after work, or actually more knackered after days off. I promise that work is SO MUCH physically easier than work.

Paddle: My nanny charges £8/ hr for babysitting. For the night out why don't you double up with someone, if teh kids sleep through?

I know babysitting makes for an expensive night out but can I suggest that we get this circle moving? My LOs sleep through from 7/7.30 (latest) so I'm open to offers but I have a friend and we 'swop' so if someone is more desperate than me then I'm happy to be queue jumped.

Sue - when can we see Daniel in RL?

suejonezisdanielsmummy · 31/01/2007 21:32

If anyone is interested I could make coffee Friday morning. Daniel has a doctors appt at 8.40 and naps at about 11am so will be available anytime between 9 and 11ish

trying2bgood · 31/01/2007 23:12

shuffles in, er, can someone fill me in on the action? Sorry realise I am completely rubbish at this mumsnet lark! Is there another meet up happening, am hoping to at least one this year! Are part time mumsnetters like me allowed to come along?

in regards to parties - virgin active do them and it is about £11 a child, this includes entertainment, food (not great) and party bags. The min number of kids is 10, max 25. I am hoping to have my dd1's party there at the end of feb.

trying2bgood · 31/01/2007 23:14

nanou - what do they say? Only two things certain in life death and taxes!

And we must get together seeing as you live within throwing distance of me!

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 05:53

T2BG - like your comment about only two things certain in life - so true!!!

Sue - I'm helping at DS/DD's school Friday am or would have loved to have join you. I'll be off work from 16 Feb - will you still be on leave then (i.e. do you have a return date yet, or will you be available for cafe lattes/hot chocolates? )

Lemonaid - that post is so funny. I'm going to try and think of it when I'm in the birthing room!!!!

MrsD - I dreamt about you last night - am feeling sad about you moving. Make sure you stay in touch eh? Anyway, I checked it out and Marlow is definatly a west London borough!!

Went to bed at 8pm last night and slept till 5.30am - 9.5 hours sleep - yipee!!!

Am touring Queen Charlotte's active birth centre 2night Going to admire the lava lamps and disco balls etc

foxabout2pop · 01/02/2007 05:57

T2BG - we're meeting on 10th at 7pm at Fat Boys in St Mags - R U down to join us?

lemonaid · 01/02/2007 07:25

Arse. Could normally have switched to "working from home" on Friday but this week I have a meeting.

uwila · 01/02/2007 07:59

What?!?! You are taking Daniel out for his first West London debut, and you are going to do it when I'm at work????

Outrageous!

Speaking of the lad, bugger, I forgot all about looking for the trousers. Do you still need them, or have you been inundated with offers from others?
