Friday 29th Sept - Child's Play Cafe (Chiswick) -what time suits everyone to fit around nap times etc? Childs Play Cafe

1st week of Oct - um....ah...???

Oxo - What's it like for under 1's?

Finally got my membership sorted for Kew so will be able to go to C&C now!

backtoxoxoxo · 18/10/2006 20:14

It's fab: downstairs is soft play but up to 2 yrs old so you will get toddlers going up the little slide etc. TBH Lollypop is better for under 1s now they have a new 'baby' corner. Or snakes and ladders at Syon Park - really good kiddie area, distinct from bigger kids.

Oh the joys of having a 2 & 3 (almost 4 ) yr olds!!I am expert in all things baby in Richmond.

pumpkinpud · 18/10/2006 20:33

Thanks oxo, I'm slowly learning! I keep thinking its going to be so much better when ds can walk - a few more options!!

sfxmum · 18/10/2006 20:37

thanks for the fab info here.
we have pretty much just stuck to within walking distance so Kew has been the place, i think Lollipop will also be 'walkable'

must try Hugo's and few more further afield trips. during the summer dh used to take her to pools in the park but apparently they are unreliably heated

pumpkinpud · 18/10/2006 20:41

How old is your lo, sfxmum?

sfxmum · 18/10/2006 20:49

she is 16.5months walking pretty ok and generally throwing herself at the most dangerous thing within range - currently sporting a bruised cheek and a scratch over her eyebrow
oh yes and she is also on hunger and sleep strike

what age are yours? there seems to be a few under 1s and then a few more over 2yrs

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 18/10/2006 21:22

well, i'm up for something next Tuesday which is my usual day off.

we've got some jobs etc to do this weekend, including possible bike buying, but could be up for a C&C visit at Kew.

Hopefully this time won't be struck down with strep throat and only capable of being driven thru Richmond Park .

backtoxoxoxo · 18/10/2006 21:37

Fizi: would normally be free (esp at half term and all) but have promised friend I'd go to the dreaded IKEA: oh lordy what was I thinking???

sfxmum · 18/10/2006 22:04

weekends i usually spend time with dh and thus one i really need to write an essay too
but tue is fine either C&C or Lollipop

pumpkinpud · 19/10/2006 09:13

Hi sfxmum, my ds is nearly 9 months and is also into pretty much everything he shouldn't be! He's just started to pull himself up on anything and stand there.

Normally I would be up for meeting next week but I'm going on holiday on Sunday! Yippeee!

hauntedvillas · 19/10/2006 09:17

I love Hugo's! A wee bit pricey - but you can buy a kind of season ticket thing. Have only been once but am assuming we'll be there a lot more over the coming months! Also love Kew Gdns. 21 month old DD and I are around Tues for Kew (or Hugo's, depending on weather) if anyone wants to meet?

pumpkinpud · 19/10/2006 09:24

Would anyone like to meet up this pm? Would probably be around 3.30pm

rabbitrabbit · 19/10/2006 09:29

Hello all, I'm yet to attend a daytime meet-but would love to meet you all soon (as long as I'm still welcome of course!).

I just wondered if anyone was planning to go to Kew's christmas event (15th & 16th Dec)? We went last year and really enjoyed it.

x

quokka · 19/10/2006 09:32

that sounds great have heard good things about it

sfxmum · 19/10/2006 09:33

can't do this pm, sorry but am up for next tue around Richmond/ Kew.

when we approach Kew dd just starts shouting 'geese' 'frafru'(her word for flowers) and wants to be taken off the buggy thus delaying proceedings.
she is at an age when she is very interested in other children and calls, anyone a wee bit smaller than her, baby

scarysuejonez · 19/10/2006 09:36

rabbitrabbit - what do they do at Kews Xmas event? I know I should know being so close but have never been?

unhallowed · 19/10/2006 09:47

Morning everyone,

Had a terrible nite. I had a tummy upset and dd was vomitting for over an hour last nite. She was throwing up bile and then dry retching. As it was the 1st time she was ill, I was pretty upset. Is this sort of vomitting common with babes if they have a tummy upset? DD's 6 months old.

On to more pleasant things . . .

Sfx - I would be up for Hugo's or Lollypop Tue am.
I'm not sure about C&C. Is dd too young for C&C? In fact, I'm free all week, except Tue pm if anyone's keen to meet.

Puds - did you get my text? Would 6.45 pm be okay?

pumpkinpud · 19/10/2006 09:51

Hi unhallowed, I did get your text. 6.45pm will be fine thank you. Sorry to hear you & dd haven't been well, hope you're both better today. Ds has been teething the last couple of days so has had some restless nights as well.

sfxmum · 19/10/2006 09:54

sue - its a huge event with special evening lights father christmas ice rink, etc will try and do link

i love it and i hope dd will enjoy it more this year

unhallowed - i have a few free days next week, its half term and usually my niece and nephew pop along but i think they are abroad for most of it

C&C is, i think for 3yr up but dd has been going for ages and she loves it, there is of course a certain amount of trampling to be expected. lots of eager toddlers about

rabbitrabbit · 19/10/2006 09:59

Hello,

Here's the link to Kew's christmas event

It was lovely last year. They keep C&C open late, Father Christmas is there and they all get to sit in his grotto etc. They had a carousel, orchestra/carol singing etc. Really festive-though I am a bit soppy at christmas

rabbitrabbit · 19/10/2006 10:00

also-sorry if I've hijacked a little.

quokka · 19/10/2006 11:13

unhallowed that sounds pretty spot on as far as vomiting goes. The first time they do it is very scarey. My ds1 did that for a total 8hrs every 15 min! The worst thing you can dop is give them water when they are vomiting. If they have stopped for a while then give them a tiny bit but if they start vomiting agian stop all water. You just make them more dehydrtaed by giving them water as it makes them vomit .

rabbit don't be silly we're all hijackers all ideas are welcome! Whhat area are you in?

rabbitrabbit · 19/10/2006 11:16

Hi quokka, am in Teddington. Where are you?

unhallowed-sorry to hear about your night, hope things get better soon x

quokka · 19/10/2006 11:20

Gunnersbury, but maybe ealing soon

backtoxoxoxo · 19/10/2006 12:58

Hi all: pukes galore here.
YOu guys all know about dioralyte, don't you. For small one just use a medicine syringe and zap it in 5mls at a time.

Rabbit - I love kew at christmas: we go every year and it's just fab. Last yr my friend brought mince pies, squirty cream and bottle of ready made mulled wine. Great!!

Anyone interested in making it a west london MN trip out?
