My old boss (who was a bit mad actualy, but that's not relevant here...) used to play bridge on the verrrandaaar, whilst drinking G&Ts. She was in Bangladesh and hubbie was a diplomat. She had nannies for her two LOs, cleaners, cooks etc.

Thats what Bridge makes me think of!

Sue, from what you've told me about your sister's house etc, bridge must be quite posh, innit?

Actually, a bit like chess, I'm just jealous I don't know how to play...

YIPPEE!!!!!!!

Finally finally finally I have officially been told that I got a promotion today. There is a long drawn outt saga here that some of you may remember. My boss promised me this level of promotion 2 years ago, and I had to fight long and hard to get him to honour it. But, finally, today he put it in writing.

It is a huge sense of achievement. Finally all of my pestering him (and there has been plenty) has paid off.

Congratulations Uwila. Blimey you lot sure do have a lot of meet-ups (compared to other areas). Still won't be down your way for this one either, but we had surveys done this week, so it is moving ever closer. Hopefully I will be joining you for one in November.

Don't know if it come with a pay increase. There is a letter in the mail and I'm sure it will quote the salary. I suspect it comes with a miniscule pay increase. Will let you all know because I'll be jumping for joy again if it does.

Oh yes I wondered if you were still ttc, CD. But, I'm a bit confused. I thought that too much alcohol caused pregnancy.

So what are you haveing done on your kidneys? Is it expected to be successful.

Hi FF, didn't get in till late as was out so I shall call her in the morning - keep your fingers crossed. No letter in sight, won't be travelling on Tuesday and hope to find out tomorrow evening whats going on.
