Hi - it was great to meet the newbies last night and meet "old" friends - thanks again MrsD for doing the honours!!

Hey listen - I'm having a baby boy! We had our 20 week scan today and he was leaping about like an athlete!! Thought I might feel a little twinge of dissapointment (had some secret hopes for another pink and fluffy one) but just felt really happy. He looks ultra healthy and has a mega willy! [proud mother emoticon]

Will start making a long-list of boy names now

DS will be so pleased, he so much want a brother to discuss boy stuff with; you know Daleks and the like.

ps. Whizzi - DS wants to post you later about his new Dr Who cards - he was really chuffed as eight out of the 10 cards were new ones he didn't have!

Nanou1 · 20/10/2006 14:32

congrats foxie!!!! so glad he seemed a very healthy boy . meant to say merci buckets for the lift and chat (ditto mrsbigd)last night on the way to the restaurant.

hauntedvillas · 20/10/2006 14:43

Congratulations foxinbubbles, that's brill news

unhallowed · 20/10/2006 14:48

Congrats foxie . You never know, you might have yourself a football player there.

Nanou - name of salon is Camiyui and name of my hairdresser is Hiro. He only works Saturdays and Sundays. I just realised there's 2 hairdressers across Ealing Common tube station.

I think the other hairdressers might be equally good. 2cute might be able to recommend one of the other ones too.

lemonAIIEEE · 20/10/2006 14:52

Congratulations -- boys are great! (so are girls, of course, but it doesn't sound as though there's any chance of a gender mistake in this case)

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 20/10/2006 14:59

hey Foxie, congratulations!! how exciting, now see this sort of thing gets me broody!

ds2 sounds a proper little belter. am sure dd will enjoy having 2 brothers to keep in line.

will inform dh he picked a good set of cards, he'll be pleased. i expect we'll be recording Torchwood so if you're happy for ds1 to watch then you're welcome to come over on your return from exotic places.

yawn, so tired! lollipop this morning was mental! dd in richmond with dh and i'm supposed to be working now lol

sfxmum · 20/10/2006 15:13

congratulations Foxi!
oh so broody...

Nanou1 · 20/10/2006 15:17

getting broody too

scarysuejonez · 20/10/2006 15:59

Congrats Foxie!

Thanks to MrsR and MrsBD for the clothes, I will talk to the orphanage director about what in particular they need in case do decide to go ahead with sending a package

scarysuejonez · 20/10/2006 16:02

my gloat has rebounded - have a thumping headache. Think it must be one of those alcohol induced viruses.

Boowila · 20/10/2006 16:22

Can't stay off the sippy cups, huh?

CONGRATS FOXIE!!!!! That's funny about the big willy. I got a similar comment with DS when I went to QC for my 20 wk scan. I think she said something like "whoa look at those testes" and Michael said "yeaaaaah that's my boy".

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 20/10/2006 16:47

well this link is American but it has some info on parcels being posted to Kazak.

the list of banned items makes for interesting reading so please take note and don't donate anything of that nature!

i'll endeavour to get more info from ParcelPost or someone next week.

i need a drink i think...........

2Cute · 20/10/2006 17:18

CONGRATS Foxie I guess our discussion last night about how fab baby boys are was very appropriate!

It was great to meet everyone

Oxo - DH was fine when I got in (I cuddled him as soon as I walked through the door to soften him up!) I did feel bad for making him worry. I can't believe he had actually tidied up all the toys and done the dishes before I got back I must go out more often!

scarysuejonez · 20/10/2006 17:23

Foxie - your DS will love this thread here

Oh and sorry to those at the other end of the table that I didn't get to speak to.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 20/10/2006 18:26

Thank you for the Dr Who cards!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 20/10/2006 18:28

That was from DS, he loved the emoticon link as well! He had a huge smile on his face all the way from school after finding out he will be getting a little brother

pumpkinpud · 20/10/2006 18:56

Congratulations foxie, that's really good news!

Sue - I've still got those bottles for you if you'd want them for your mums, or do you think the orphanage might need them? If you don't and they do then I'll add them to the package.

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 20/10/2006 18:59

aww, how cute. dh is touched!

just told him you're off to morocco and now he's jealous too lol.

lol

oooh I lurve Fridays!

quokka · 20/10/2006 19:10

congrats foxie you must be proud - of the size of his willy!

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 20/10/2006 19:19

hmmm better get the military ordenance out of my pile of things to potentially give to SJ/the orphanage

Shall we all revert back to the general chit-chat thread now m'dears?

Oh and thanks for all the 'thanks' for organising. No problem, as I kept repeating... I do it for my own sanity, so have alterior motive

oh and this out check this out it's good for a laugh

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 20/10/2006 19:20

Whizzy - I went backpacking in Morocco when I was 23, in the Atlas Mountains. This time we're doing a package with kids club, all inclusive etc, which is appropriate for our lifestyle now. Apparently the hotel has a Moroccan restaurant, which I'm looking forward to and we'll make sure we get out and about a bit to see the "real" Morocco.

We went to Tunisia last Easter (2005) and took a two day trip into the Sahara - it was absolutely amazing. Met Troglodyts - who live underground and went to where Star Wars was filmed (in Troglodyte area). The most amazing thing was finding an ATM machine in an Oasis in the middle of the Sahara desert!!!!

Just found out that an old friend has got new a job in Beirut for the Foreign Office, so am hatching a cunning plan for a post-breastfeeding visit to see her sometime in 2008, and a trip to Syria and Jordon with her - just me without the hubbie and kids!! That's a long way off though! My sister is going to Jordan for half term with her DH and kids and I'm a bit myself, but Morocco will be great!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 20/10/2006 19:28

MrsD - Loved that link! - so did the kids!

spooxooky · 20/10/2006 20:04

mrs foxy: Tigerrrrrrrrrrboy!!

sfxmum · 20/10/2006 20:33

LOL mrsD just say no

spooxooky · 20/10/2006 20:52

OK, I need advice: I ma looking for a part time job. I have an interview and need to work out hours I can work, which depends on how easy it is to get a good childminder who can collect 2 kids from school/ nursery and mind them for say 3 hrs each day.
Given that I am new to this working malarkey, I need some old hands advice. Am I living in the real world? Does such an angel exist? If so, how do I get her and any idaes on copst (so I can work out if it is worth actually going to work!).

Help!!!!!!
