Oh yeah.... duh! I knew that.

scarysuejonez · 19/10/2006 18:05

Boowilla - I would offer but I'm in Brigton for the weekend sorry.

I'm the tall fat one with the (newly) very short hair

CountessDracula · 19/10/2006 18:07

i hope you all have a lovely time

I will be at home sulking about my impending doom

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 19/10/2006 18:07

boo, sorry nanny's busy this sat.

Boowila · 19/10/2006 18:18

CD, is your DH storing up all the old age jokes for payback?

Have a lovely birthday. You are as old as you feel!
(and thankfully older than me... he he

Boowila · 19/10/2006 18:19

Yeah everyone is busy -- it's looking like I won't be.

CountessDracula · 19/10/2006 18:21
CountessDracula · 19/10/2006 18:21

today i feel about 72 which is a bit worrying

Boowila · 19/10/2006 18:27

Oh, come on. Cheer up. I'd tell you that you look nowhere near 72... or even 40. But, since you don't come to the meet-ups I know not what you look like!

Speaking of which, it's not too late to come out and sulk with us. I promise to be nice. I'll even refrain from calling you a pinko (oops, that one doesn't count).

Boowila · 19/10/2006 18:34

Oi! Here I am trying to cheer you up, and you leav. What's that about?

CountessDracula · 19/10/2006 18:36

no i am here
you can't type so fast when you get old you know

I would love to come but I really feel me sulking in the corner would bring the evening down

Plus I would get pissed to drown my sorrows and spoil my bday with a hangover

Boowila · 19/10/2006 18:51

You could sit at the sulky end of the table where people are already planning to moan about various things. I don't think turning 40 is on the list, but I'm sure you could add it.

Boowila · 19/10/2006 18:53

Sorry about the delay. I'm at work killing time until I need to leave for Escale and it just figures some guy came round wanting my do actually work -- The nerve of some people!

Oh well, I know I have once again failed to persuade you. Maybe we'll meet at the Christmas party.

But, if you change your mind, you are welcome to join us tonight.

Am I the first one home? If so largely due to having just missed a train and catching a (gasp) taxi instead, so I got home in about ten minutes. Great to meet you all, and hope to follow up again soon.

scarysuejonez · 19/10/2006 23:32

got home pretty quickly too but was too ashamed o post - like I can't go out for the evening and just go home to bed like normal people do have to come on and check the computer first

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 20/10/2006 07:47

ooh Jura, that's freaky LOL.

I nearly went for the laptop SJ but got diverted to fridge and another glass of wine.

head hurts this morning!

BooCabs did an excellent service of getting me home nice n quick too.

Great to see you all, sorry didn't manage to chat to everyone.

FF want to know more about your Morrocco trip. Jealous!!!
have got morning off as nanny sick so anyone up for Lollipop?

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 20/10/2006 07:54

got home about midnight busses were quite ok and I didn't have to wait too long dh told me off for not taking a taxi but after what I'd just spent at Escale the taxi budget was a bit streched

Had a great night. Who would have thought such a small place can be so noisy!

Shall we go for 3 November for next meetup?

quokka · 20/10/2006 08:20

Hope you guys had a good night, I welcome any gossip this way

Boowila I can ask next doors nanny as she wants some extra work babysitting? Where are you again? Otherwise my friend uses this service where you can call up at very short notice for babysitters. They all have had checks on them and are usually nanny's, midwifes etc. I remember her telling me it was £7hr?

backtoxoxoxo · 20/10/2006 08:35

Hi quokka - hope you are feeling better today. we missed you last night

great to meet all you guys last night, epecially those I have already met (or should that be even the ones I already met?)

2cute: thanks so much for the lifts. Hope dh was fine by the time you got home

I think I won't be able to make the next dinner in Novemeber: birthday & wedding anniv. so our playing budget will be stretched to breaking point. Can I suggest the Brula room for Friday the 1st December, as west london christmas dinner? Is that far enough away from the big MN christmas bash? We wd have to book early to avoid the office christmas party bookings.

hauntedvillas · 20/10/2006 08:42

Bonjour, mon amis! Am at my desk "Working" away but unsure as to how the day will pan out as only had 2 hours sleep thanks to dd, eeeeek!! Last night v good fun and thanks to mrsbigd for making the name badges which were invaluable! Was tempted to switch pc on when I got home (courtesy of the H37 taxi) but sorted out some washing instead, ROCK N ROLL. Off now to tuck into emergency pain au chocolat from Maison Blanc, no less - get me!!

Boowila · 20/10/2006 08:48

Yes, please, Quokka. You never can have too many babysitters. She can send me an e-mail at Uwila at hotmail co uk. I think you are talking about sitters. But, you have more associated fees to pay. So it's more like 8 or 9 per hour, and that exceeds my budget. I normally pay £5 per hour. Willing to to pay £6. But not more. We live in Sunbury, so not sure if she'd want to come out. But, the job is for about 6 or 7 hours so it might be worth her while. 4:00 onwards is what I'm looking for.

Ah, Nov. 3rd. Well, I don't know if I can still come on that day. I've just been reminded that I committed to a night away the next day... and I haven't broken the news to DH yet. So if I go out both nights it might not go ver very well. Can we do November 10 instead? But Brula for 01 December sounds really good. Oxo, do you want to go ahead and book it just to make sure we can get reservations?

unhallowed · 20/10/2006 08:53

Morning everyone!

Puds and I shared a cab. I got home in double quick time too.

Fizz - I've just CATed you. I'd be up for Lollypop. But I would need to work out how to get there. Do they have a website? What time are you planning to go?

Boowila · 20/10/2006 08:57

Oh Fizz, that's one of the downsides of having a nanny. Did you know that statistically speaking live-out nannies take more sick days than live-in nannies?

sfxmum · 20/10/2006 09:02

good morning all
thank you for last night i had a lovely time.
badges were great
thanks Foxi for the cab service and additional lights, saved me a stumble in the dark.

about the next meet up, are we talking fridays? it would be better for me
