Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

oh mine's a bottle of Dom LOL

quick side line ... Uwila... what does one get one's nanny as a leaving present besides nice pic of kids?

suejoneziscalmernow · 05/09/2006 12:51

perfectly capable of typing and pointing (thank you Nanou!) but am generally in boring long mmetings or frantically tryng to prepare reports for boring long meetings. Am in another one this afternoon - WHAT AM I DOING ON HERE?

MrsBigD · 05/09/2006 13:00

SJ you're wrongly accusing Nanou... Uwila is the finger waving comment LOL

bumpmakestwo · 05/09/2006 13:06

Oh Sue you sound stressed, reminds me of when I used to work uptown. Saying that I got stressed yesterday at work ( I do two days a wk, one in office, other at home) but that was coz I was trying to express and rush back for a meeting...very tricky! Well me off to Bushey Pk to kill some time with little one. Catch you busy lot later!

suejoneziscalmernow · 05/09/2006 13:10

Uwila/Nanou whatever - haven't got time for trivial details {shock]

Uwila · 05/09/2006 13:12

MrsigD,
How about an annual subscription to Bupa?

Seriously, I'd give her a nice pic and maybe something the kids made for her. Maybe a little album of photos that the kids could help make.

Uwila · 05/09/2006 13:13

That's alright. You can blame Nanou! Still haven't forgotten when she thought I was pregnant.

MrsBigD · 05/09/2006 13:15

at Bupa suggestion Uwila... very tempting LOL

so we're trivial details now are we?

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 05/09/2006 13:18

trivial???!!!!! i'll give you some trivial!!! PMFL PMFL
yep a round on me ladies!!!!
re present; i think i little bracelet would be nice - does not need to be expensive. and nannies do like photos of their little ones. maybe a scrapbook of photos with her and the kids - if you have any? with the kids's comments on it? personnally i would go for a photo and a trip to a pottery cafe for your kids to do an original piece of art - being a plate or a mug?

Nanou1 · 05/09/2006 13:19

how much do you want uwila??!!!

Nanou1 · 05/09/2006 13:20

uwila - you and i always seem to think alike! just saw your note on piccies

MrsBigD · 05/09/2006 13:26

hmmm might have a look if the pottery place is open saturday. Not sure how much longer nanny is going to be with us but defo last day will be 29 September

OP posts:
Uwila · 05/09/2006 13:30

MrsBigD, I think there a crafty cafe in Hamton which is open on Saturdays. Can't remember the name, but could find out from nanny if you want to know.

Nanou1 · 05/09/2006 13:33

there is a pottery caf in chiswick! closer to gunnersbury than hammersmith.

Uwila · 05/09/2006 13:33

How much what do I want?

You shouldn't ask open questions like that. I might say "I want a castle". (like DD said to me on Saturday). I got her a magic wand thingy at Kew and she went chucking the thing through the air. I said "what are you doing? Play nicely." and she replied "I'm a pirate and this is my sword." EH? So I tried to convince het it was a nice friendly magic wand and she said, "Well alright. But, then I need a big castle." Oh okay then? Not just a little one?

MrsBigD · 05/09/2006 13:38

There's actually a pottery cafe in West Ealing

Nanou, at least your dd doesn't use her magic wand to turn you into all sorts of things and expects you to act accordingly. Now how on earth does one pretend to be a tea cup? or a cucumber???

Sue

I'm reassured that even when you're really stressed and busy at work, you just can't resist nipping onto MN for a quick Goss'

A woman after me own heart

fatfox · 05/09/2006 13:52

Oh by the way, you'll all be very exited to hear that I may be able to make Kew Gardens on Saturday with the LO's, as we've also been invited to a party in the arvo, which means the DH2000 jabs appointment will be MOVED

I can't possibly prioritise my children's jabs above their social life

bunyanvillas · 05/09/2006 14:02

Paddlechick, are you back at work tomorrow then? Just wanted to wish you good luck! I went back when DD was 13 months old and had been dreading it for months - but when the big day finally came I found it was actually all fine and I need not have worried! Now I pop into work for a rest

arfishymeau · 05/09/2006 14:30

Hello all! I'm watching you with interest as my house is in Kingston. I'm in Sydney at the moment but will be back for a time before Christmas, so might try to meet up with you all if defectors are welcome . Not sure how possible though, as I'll be here on my own with DD, so no babysitters (or house come to think of it, it's rented out ).

I've seen the news about SueJz' adoption too (privyet Sue, pazdravlyayu), I'm so pleased it's going well.

Uwila · 05/09/2006 14:37

Of course you are welcome! You can come over and hang my laundry if you like?????

How old is your DD?

MrsBigD · 05/09/2006 14:39

Arfishy, welcome and yes defectors can join in but have to bring a bottle of wine LOL

If you can't make evening parent's only due to lack of babysitter meetup there's always weekends Or you could entrust your dd to a complete stranger's husband, e.g. mine LOL though we're a bit far from Kingston

OP posts:
suejoneziscalmernow · 05/09/2006 14:39

(Yes FF ridiculous that I'm still nipping on for 5 mins occassionally, but shortly leave the office - bugger, must buy blackberry)

(priviet,arfym, kak dela?)

(not really on here am really calculating our average banner price excluding ambient and cpa - hence brackets - it doesn;t count if its in brackets)

arfishymeau · 05/09/2006 14:49

Oooh. Thanks guys. I feel like I'm home again.

LOL Uwila. You caught me on the crunchy washing thread! DD is 3.8.

Harashyo! Spasiba SueJ.

Will bring wine MrsBigD. Riesling or Australian Hunter Valley?

fatfox · 05/09/2006 14:51

Arfishy - Hi and please do join us when you arrive back - we are thinking of a babysitting club too, so that may come in handy.

Privyet Sue - I have a blackberry at work at I think they're pretty rubbish. The worst thing is when I take sneaky looks at it when I'm on hols/weekends and then get all hot under the collar about some minor work blip; which then spoils my whole weekend as I can't do anything about it

Paddle - what are you doing for childcare when you go back to work tomorrow? ...and more importantly, what are you wearing on your first day back?

MrsBigD - I'm quite good at pretending to be a cabbage
