Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

Hi FF

Well, now you come to mention it, T has got a taste for champers so........

I googled Private Fetal Clinic London and got this:
www.privatehealth.co.uk/private-healthcare-services/private-maternity-services/private-maternity-hospitals/lansdell-suite

sorry you'll have to cut n paste coz I'm crap at the link thing.

anyways, i was checked in at St Thomas'with dd and have visited the fetal unit there and it's very good. the links says there's 24 hour access.

HTH and fingers x'd that it's 'just' the fall.

Welcome COV, we just moved to Isleworth from near Hitchin so I'm a newbie.

This lot are a very welcoming bunch altho apearing somewhat alchofrolic LOL ('hic)!

PC666

ps: update on my ongoing search for Thai, picked up take-away from Fat Boys at Rich Bridge last night - DIVINE!

ComeOVeneer · 09/09/2006 10:06

There are a multitude of reasons (it has been an on going saga - shared with MN - since the beginning of the year) Brief synopsis is

  1. Nearer to my family (Hampshire)
  2. Further from MIL (currently around the corner)
  3. More house for our money
  4. Still commutable for DH into the city
  5. Good location for schools/activities/social life etc.
YanksUponThames · 09/09/2006 10:07

Hi sj! Yes, the new flat is far better than the other one (for us, with a small child) in many ways. Quite happy about it. Congrats on your trip finally going through!

Like the dinner idea next Friday, need to check with dh about work schedule (he's busy, planning office's imminent move to new quarters)

Also can meet next Saturday for the boat thing, I think, if people are doing that...

ComeOVeneer · 09/09/2006 10:07

Oh and can I also add my support to Fatfox. Didn't want to appear I was "talking" over you, fingers crossed all is fine.

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 10:08

Lol at further from MIL (that wasn't number 1?).

Fatboys is indeed fab - there's also one in Chiswick and one in Brentford and a lovely Thai called the Coffeee Pot in Isleworth.

ComeOVeneer · 09/09/2006 10:11

Lol, that was me trying to ba a tad diplomatic. TBH the woman drives me insane. I overheard her last week saying to her sister (after we had told them we had offers accepted etc) that she would never forgive me for taking her grandchildren away from her. You would think we are emigrating to Australia not 45 mins down the road.

Paddlechick666 · 09/09/2006 10:36

lol COV but 45 mins is probably a bit optimistic i gotta tell ya!

where is this Coffee Pot SJ? tell me more!

yank, the boat thing is deff still on (weather permitting) just need to agree a spot on the river bank to locate ourselves.

YanksUponThames · 09/09/2006 10:55

Same for me, FF -- many warm wishes hoping all is truly well and settling down. What a scary thing.

2Cute · 09/09/2006 11:15

Sorry FF, just logged on now but you've got the details now. Any luck with any of the clinics? Don't let them fob you off, I hate it when they do that, they are supposed to help so make sure they get your scan done ASAP. U are taking the advice given and resting, yes? Thinking of you x

COV, glad I'm not the only one with the MIL issue. I might actually consider Australia to get away from mine! Maybe we should take a poll of the best and worst MILs?!

ComeOVeneer · 09/09/2006 11:19

In what way optimistic? In that it will take more than 45mins (hopefully) or that she will be less than 45mins away?

xoxoxo · 09/09/2006 11:39

Hi all:
what about wagamama in Kingston for 15th? Cheap, veggie friendly and cheerful.

FF: hope all going well.

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 12:00

Paddlechick666 - The Coffee Pot is in the London road, from Isleworth station heading towards hounslow on the right past the fire station in the row of odd shops and restaurants - no mans land. Don;t be foolled by the look - food always used to be great. Not the place to go if you want a posh meal out but they also do takeaway. Their prawn toast is the best i've ever had. Mouth watering now.

MrsBigD · 09/09/2006 13:09

I'm getting a headache scrolling through this fast paced thread so here a thread for 15 September

2cute & CoV I actually will be migrating to Australia to get as far away from my MOTHER as possible LOL MIL is in NZ and she's lovely.

Oh and I like Wagamammas

btw Welcome back Yanks . sounds like it has been a bit hectic again. Hope you can make 15th to catch up.

Oh my our bunch is getting larger ... yippieh!

Hi I'm back again

After ringing the contacts Mrs Big D, PC666 and Sue provided this morning we went to Hammersmith Hospital, as they were recomended by some of those contacts as having a scanning machine and 24/7 gyneas on call. The Portland were very good though and called back straight away. That clinic in the GWRd neither answer their phone, nor do they bother returning calls

I got to lie in an antique bed with stirrups and looked at the oldest scanning machine (both donated by Holloway prison me thinks) - BUT the baby looked fine and was doing its normal back flips. It was definately alive anyway !!

The gynea said I have cervical erosion again, so will bleed anyway (which is useful to know), but the bleed this week was no doubt caused by the trauma of the fall and could've come from anywhere. She reckoned the pains in the abdomen were a torn ligament rather than torn placenta.

Massive sighs of relef for DH and I - phew

Thanks for all your advice - Oxo, I did everything you recommended
Uwila, thanks for your prayers for the beanie and I

I have to say, Hammersmith were 1,000 times better than when I've been to Kingston with bleeding in past pregnancies.

By the way, Thai sounds fab

This thread is really filling up isn't it ? - its great

YanksUponThames · 09/09/2006 19:25

I'm so sorry if I wasted bandwidth or posted too much on the stats thread. I honestly wasn't meaning to be tiresome, or chatty where inappropriate. Many sincere apologies to all.

YanksUponThames · 09/09/2006 19:35

Very glad to hear good news fatfox!!! Hope everything keeps going well.

xoxoxo · 09/09/2006 19:41

fantastic news fatfox: now rest up and do nothing (except this, of course).

welcome newbies. I think the americans are taking over though, we def. need more Irish here.

MrsBigD · 09/09/2006 19:42

Fatfox glad to hear 'beany' and you have had the o.k. Take care of yourself will you!?

Yanks don't be daft and stop apologising . I shall extract relevant info on Monday

sfxmum · 09/09/2006 19:50

hello
good news fatfox
have been lurking while being busy at work all rather stressful but only 3full days of work to go.

bumpmakestwo · 09/09/2006 20:34

Fatfox - brilliant news and you must have felt so relieved when you saw the baby flip. I had a scare at 39wks (couldn't feel Bump moving)and when I got to see her move, I totally broke-down.
Hi to Yanks and to COV. I live jst down the road...move from Surbiton to East Molesey when Bump arrived. Thames Ditton is lovely and if you have some pennies and are active you should join 'Colets' Health Club. V Social.

2Cute · 09/09/2006 20:55

FF that's GREAT news...so relieved for you both.

BigD...your mum, seriously?! I forgot that my DH will be away in Germany for the Hockey World Cup finals (doh) but I'm trying to see if me mum can have DS. Should know by tomorrow. She was a bit shocked when I said I'm meeting some people I met over the internet! What time is the meet?

fatfox · 09/09/2006 21:07

Thanks Guys - I feel emotionally drained - been on a rollercoaster all day..

Oxo - I'm Irish and I suspect some of the yanks may be too? Any other Irish - come on, 2nd and 3rd generation will do

MrsBigD · 09/09/2006 21:10

2Cute yes seriously, my mum is the type that lurves to critique when she comes to visit... ya know, too much washing/dishes etc. piling up, how I raise the kids is of course wrong, because childcare hasn't changed over the last 38 year has it now? dislikes dh with a passion probably because he's not an acadamic with years of uni and heaps of diplomas behind him. But then again, hold on... neither am I! Out of the lot I've dated and there were a few he's the best catch

DH's mum on the other hand is a darling! Non interfering etc.

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 21:28

Oh fatfox - have been thinking about you on and off all day and my fingers hurt from being crossed. Think I may have to have one amputated as I lost the blood supply for a while. ery releived for you.
