Let's start a new thread the old one is getting too long

I'm off travelling 22-29th but before then I hope I'd be able to 'find' some time but probably not in the week leading up to 22nd as dh would probably divorce me

fatfox: go to Kingston, they have a good out of hrs service and will put your mind at ease. They can also arrange scans very quickly.

Call me on my mobile if you want to talk. I've gone through this a couple of times and may be able to give some support.

Good luck.

Paddlechick666 · 08/09/2006 19:24

Hi FF

Take yourself to A&E and get checked over, it may not be the worst.

Same as the others, you've got my number and I'm around all weekend if you need.........

Big hugs and lots of glue.

quokka · 08/09/2006 19:28

Fatfox, I'm sure you told me (I might be wrong) that you were with Queen Charlottes? I had bleeding in the early months and they organised a scan very quickly. You need to go and have it looked at asap, if only to put your mind at rest.

If you wont go to the hospital you must put your feet up and do NOTHING! Thats why you have a husband (or one of the reasons) he must look after you and the kids, please take it easy.

bumpmakestwo · 08/09/2006 19:33

Oh Fatfox, hugs and heaps of reassurance coming your way!!!

SJ - Congrats on something...erm...was it BOOKING YOUR FLIGHTS!!!!

And Mr Nanou, good for you for landing a job!

And of course to the newbie..welcome! That means I'm no longer the new one on the block!!!

Would love to make the 15th in Kingston, but don't know if I can get someone to watch over Bump (dd - 5mths). Will do the puppy dog eyes to my mum!!!

quokka · 08/09/2006 19:36

Actually saying that they might not take you in out of hours if your under 20 weeks, if you are then try A&E.

2Cute · 08/09/2006 19:51

15th? should be ok if DH isn't working late....I'll be there with bells on (atleast you'll know who I am that way! ) what's the venue?

Here's my story: Married SAHM of 1 gorgeous 2 yr old boy, would love another but don't know why getting pg is so difficult this time.

Uwila, yep in answer to both house and garden questions!

Fatfox, just another suggestion, you should definately go to the hospital 2nite for peace of mind. If you don't fancy long waiting in A&E you could go to that private 24 hour emergency clinic on the Great West Road, Brentford. They might even be able to do a scan there and then. Make sure you rest in the mean time x

Found a list of restaurants in Kingston spoilt for choice!

MrsBigD · 08/09/2006 20:05

Anybody knows the La Cigale that's listed? their website doesn't exist but I like the

A friendly and unhurried French Restaurant just off Teddington High Street, with live music on Friday nights. 3 Church Road, Teddington, Surrey, TW11 8PF. Call 020 8943 3331

MrsBigD · 08/09/2006 20:12

Then again... just remembered the last debacle we had with live music ... killed the conversation, but not before we tried to kill the othere patrons appetite with birth stories

Thai Thai Thai Thai Thai Thai Thai Thai

If we try Charin then I can see if it solves my current conundrum of not having a reasonably priced Thai delivery...........

other than that, I do like the sound of the veggie place.

Oh no, Fatfox. I don't really know what to say but I will definately say a prayer for you tonight. If you need any help over the weekend (babysitter?) please call me.

And of course, please give us an update when you have a chance.

2Cute · 08/09/2006 23:25

sorry I meant Nanou1 not Uwila in my last post, duh, I'm not nuts...honest

Paddlechick666 · 09/09/2006 09:01

Tabitha said her first proper word this morning!

She pointed across the room to a teddy bear on the chest of drawers and said "Bear".

When DH brought it to her she kissed it and said "Bear" again.

Awwwww, so cute!

YanksUponThames · 09/09/2006 09:17

Good morning and happy Saturday etc.
@#%! I haven't been able to check in (much less post!) in AGES. @#%! Far too many tedious long-distance things going on, tho' dh & ds are fine and we like our new flat (and we're now even closer to Kew Gardens).

Trying to catch up!!! Need to see you guys! Want to meet new people too! (Hello!) Prayers for fatfox. Jeez, there's a lot here to catch up on even after just a week...

fatfox · 09/09/2006 09:20

Hi everyone - Hi Paddle - your little girl is really cute isn't she? Are you sure she wasn't saying "bar" though; as in "where's the Bar?"

Thanks for all your advice and offers - I haven't "done" anything yet as I rang ante-natal at QC yesterday and they just said "you have to go to A&E, not come here".

I had bleeding with DD and also had a MC last year and my experience of going to A&E is that they do absolutely nothing - apart from prod you in the abdomen then send you on your way. I was too upset yesterday and couldn't face the thought of being fobbed off again, so lay in bed all afternoon wimpering

I fell down stairs on Wednesday and since Thursday have had a burning sensation on the left side of my abdomen (where the baby is). However, I didn't realise the implications until yesterday when the blood appeared. Thankfully, the bleeding stopped yesterday when I went to bed, so feeling slightly calmer now, although I suspect it may come back.

I rang a midwife at QC today (wish I'd thought of doing it yesterday, but was feeling too irrational) and she said I can turn up at the Early Pregnancy unit Monday morning and demand a scan. Again, my experience of Early Pregnancy Units is they won't help you if you are over 12 weeks.

Does anyone now of a hospital or clinic who might give me a scan over the weekend?

2cute - do you remember the name of that clinic on the Great West Road, so I can google it? By the way, welcome - we are a really fun bunch apart from me

Any brain waves anyone; I be very grateful - you can always call me as well as post here. Thanks

ComeOVeneer · 09/09/2006 09:25

May I join your group please (COV asks in a nervous schoolgirly kind of way), when I move to your part of the woods in a few weeks? Is Thames Ditton considered "your part of the woods" btw?

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 09:41

Fatfox the private clnic brentford is here . I'm not sure they get involved in pregnancy related things but ring them and ask. How are you feeling today?

Uwila · 09/09/2006 09:41

Welcome COV! Hey, if Sunbury counts so does Thames Ditton. So, does this mean you are giving up work? Surely you aren't commuting back to North London... or maybe you are? I suppose it's not THAT far. So when is the move then? This is very exciting for you. It's been a long hunt for a new house, so I'm very glad it is all coming together for you.

Oh Fatfox, it does sound a bit more optimistic. You might try ringing the Fetal Medicine Centrre and see if they can advise someone? I think they might be affiliated with anither clinic (upstairs from them???) who is open on Saturdays.

MrsBigD · 09/09/2006 09:41

Fatfox, I now remember that you mentioned a few days back that you fell down the stairs. Hadn't even thought about a connection

Tried to find hospital by road but only found

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 09:42

CoV - I would say Thames Ditton is defintiely part of our woeds - have you lived here before?

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 09:43

Hello Yanks - long time no "see"! Hope the visit went OK at least and move into the new flat was painless. Are you enjoying the nice weather in your new garden?

ComeOVeneer · 09/09/2006 09:48

Yep I'm giving up work for the forseeable future (my job is out in Hertford so it takes me 45mins from N london to get there so heaven knows how long it would take from our new place.

It is a total relocation for us so I will be busy making new friends for both myself (and dh) plus the children (hopefully)

fatfox · 09/09/2006 09:48

Thanks Sue and MrsBigD - I deffo give some of these a call. The Portland might be able to scan me over the weekend so will try them first.

Anyone think of any others let me know.

TBH I'd rather think that it was the fall than think its a missed MC.

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 10:02

Are you relocating here for a reason? It's a nice area but robably a bit more suburban than north London. You're close to Bushy park there which is nice and the river.

suejoneziscalmernow · 09/09/2006 10:02

Good luck Fatfox, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
