I am moving to Wroughton next month and am trying to find out what goes on when and where for little ones. I have two sons, one just over 2.5 years and the other is 2 months old.

I am interested in activities to do with either boys during term time. I am also interested in postnatal exercise and meeting other mums in the area.

Hi everyone and hello to all those who have joined us.
I am having an open house coffee morning tomorrow Tuesday 19th September at my home in Wootton Bassett 10 - 12 noon.
All are welcome and if anyone would like to come along, bring a friend etc please email me for address [email protected]. Short notice I know - There's nothing like doing things at the last minute!!
It is to raise money for CLIC Sargent a childrens cancer charity. (I will also display my baby and toddler range of products from Truly Madly Baby and if anyone wants to order anything I will donate proceeds from that too.) There is no obligation though - I just want everyone to enjoy themselves. There will be tea/coffee, homemade cakes and juice/biscuits for little ones.
Hope some of you can make it.

SN4ho, sounds great, look forward to meeting you. Bumpity bump for the other ladies.

SAHMof1 · 18/09/2006 11:11

I haven?t been on in a while as we?ve just moved house (still in Highworth) and I?m back at work! I will be a SAHM from 13 October, and plan to get on with promoting real nappies.

Locks please get in touch, as I am trying to set up the Swindon Real Nappy Network. I am in touch with Jacky Thomas at the Wiltshire Real Nappy Network and with the council. My details are Abigail Gilby, [email protected], uk.geocities.com/dappernappies/index.html.

Busybusymum my DS is 5 months. We use MOES mainly, but have a few others, including Tots, Minki, Clwt Twt etc. He gets on great with them!

Sn4ho, I can?t make the open-house as I?m at work, but on 17 October I?ve planned a nappuccino at Starbucks in the Brunel Centre between 10.00 and 12.00, if anyone is interested!

sn4ho · 19/09/2006 21:12

mummyplonk - it was lovely to meet you and your friend today, thanks so much for coming along. We raised over £60 for CLIC Sargent childrens cancer charity so it was well worth it. Thanks!!

Will call you when I have your Truly Madly Baby order to arrange popping it round. Hope your little ones enjoyed themselves!

mummyplonk · 20/09/2006 08:27

SN4ho, Thank you for a lovely time, the children and I really enjoyed ourselves and it was lovely to meet you. I thought the Truly Madly Baby catalogue was excellent, have told a few friends about it and would like to have a party before Christmas. Well done on the donation to CLIC. You went to so much effort, shame I couldnt have gobbled up all of those lovely cakes but have too many jeans I still cant squeeze into.

I'm really pleased you love the TMB range and want a party!! It's a great way to get some free shopping done - especially with christmas coming!
Have a think about a date and we can book it up when I drop your order off.
Hope you're enjoying the sunshine today - it might be the last of the Summer!

lightworking · 20/09/2006 15:40

Hi all - just spotted there are MNers living near me (near Wootton Bassett) so thought I'd pop onto the thread. I work part time, have an 8 month old DS and am trying to control my obsession with washable nappies

Steppy1 · 20/09/2006 16:59

Hi All...havn't been around for a while....busy planning the next Swindon Funky mama events...and celebrated (another !!) birthday at the weekend where does the time go ?? Anyway we're right in the midst of planning the move now to Somerset...mixed feelings really as have made lots of friends in and around the swindon area...but really excited about the move to the new area..and making lots of new friends too !!!! Would love to meet up with everybody before we go (on the 19th October !!)

sn4ho · 21/09/2006 10:19

Hello lightworking. Which village are you in? Pity you just joined us - you could have come along to my coffee morning!!
Hi Steppy - sounds like you're really busy. I'm sure your move will be really worth it when you've settled in, it's a lovely part of the country. Good luck with all the packing etc!

How are you children feeling about going?

Steppy1 · 21/09/2006 20:02

..think they're OK...we talk about it all really positively and DS is really excited about going to his "new school" though also sad about moving from his friends.....we're all pretty much the same really on that one !!! Still can't believe that in 4 weeks time we will have moved..........

SAHMof1 · 22/09/2006 10:38

Lightworking I too have an obsession with real nappies. So much so that I am trying to set up the Swindon Real Nappy Network to have a place to go and meet people to chat over the latest coloured Bamboozles etc. If you?re interested, see my post below!

To everyone else, sorry for the repeated shameless plugs!

lightworking · 22/09/2006 14:12

sn4ho - I'm in lyneham - just down the road from you!! realised I just missed it when I posted It sounds like it went really well.

SAHMof1 - I'm very interested in the real nappy network - is that what the 17 Oct Starbucks thing is about? - if so, may I join

Steppy1 · 22/09/2006 16:44

...for all you real nappy ladies..I have a good contact in Swindon of an NCT teacher who could probably put you in touch with lots of first time pregannt couples who might be interested in real nappies....... she used to be my business partner in The having a baby Company.....

SAHMof1 · 22/09/2006 22:28

Oh, yes please Steppy1 - please pass on my details!

SAHMof1 · 22/09/2006 22:29

I got your email Lightworking - so I hope to see you at Starbucks!

PanicPants · 23/09/2006 20:56

Hi all, it's been a while as I've been so busy with work.

Steppy it would be lovely to meet up before you move, howabout meeting at a soft play place one day after school? About 4pm (but not Mondays)?

But not this week, as we had our ofsted phonecall yesterday and are being ofsteded next week! So I've been in school all day today with dp, (ds was at my mums).

Can you believe it? After a year of mat leave, we get ofsteded less then 3 weeks back

SAHMof1 · 25/09/2006 21:07

Good luck PanicPants with OFSTED. I've got 3 weeks left and there's talk of us getting OFSTED. I hope they hold off just 3 weeks at least!

SAHMof1 · 28/09/2006 09:03

Anyone going to the mother, baby and toddler event at STEAM this Sunday?

sn4ho · 28/09/2006 14:46

Hi SAHM - I am going to be exhibiting (Truly Madly Baby) at the KID-EX baby and toddler show at Steam.
It sounds like it will be really worth coming along - it's free to get in and as well as stalls etc there is soft play, shows - (magic, fashion) and entertainment. It is 11 - 4pm at Steam museum by the designer outlet mall.
Hope to see some of you there - introduce yourself as a mumsnetter if you see me!!

Locks · 29/09/2006 12:43

I didn't know that this was going on - I have just agreed to do a stall in Marlborough for the NCT otherwise I would have come.

SAHMof1 - did you get the email I sent you?

OP posts:
Steppy1 · 29/09/2006 16:09
