Moving to Wroughton near Swindon

I am moving to Wroughton next month and am trying to find out what goes on when and where for little ones. I have two sons, one just over 2.5 years and the other is 2 months old.

I am interested in activities to do with either boys during term time. I am also interested in postnatal exercise and meeting other mums in the area.

can I crash? in swindon too (abbey meads) if you're meeting up how about jolly roger? it's a soft play place and is less than 5 mins walk from a buss stop for those of us who don't drive.

Welcome wannaBe1974 of course you can join in I am going to be offline until next week now as this weekend is the big move. I am off to my parents for the weekend whilst my DH, Dad and Brother move the furniture.

Hopefully something can be arranged soon, not knowing the area it is difficult for me as I don't know what is near where.

Hello all, i too live in swindon. I've got one DS who will be 2 in october. I would love to be involved in a meet up if one is arranged it would be nice to get to know some more mums in the area.

(can't meet for a few weeks tho cos i've got my leg in a cast for 6 weeks at least )

I like the sound of a Truly Madly Baby evening sn4ho, that would be a good way to get everyone to meet. I'm happy to hold one but not for a few weeks tho.

Would anyone be interested if i did??

You can have a daytime meet with babies/children along or a girlie evening - whichever suits you best. Also,don't feel you can't have a party unless you know loads of people!! Parties with just a few are just as fun as a big bash!
The products are really lovely, unique, great quality and v reasonable and I have had lovely feedback from all my hostesses and ... of course there is no pressure to buy.

...any Swindon (ish !) mums interested in coming along to a nearly new clothes sale.....we're hoping to move in the Autumn and I don't want to move DS and DD old clothes......They're now 5 and 3 and I have a good selection of Osh Kosh and Gap in very good condition....what do you think ??? Maybe SN4ho could bring some of her products along too ?????? If not then maybe we could re arrange the Lydiard park picnic ???

That's a good idea Steppy! - I'm up for that.
Since you would be the 'host', you would also benefit form 10% of anything ordered on the day to spend on products yourself!

Sorry I haven't been on here, but I have been having problems with the telephone line. It is still not sorted as we don't hear the phone ring, but hopefully the builders will get in touch with BT and get it sorted. The main thing is that my internet connection stays up for more than 30 seconds

We have been here nearly 3 weeks and are so happy. DS1 started at nursery this week and things are starting to get into a routine. We had a set back in that the old house sale fell through days before contracts were due to be exchanged, but that is back on the market now.

I am now starting to look at activities to do with the boys. I haven't found much to do with DS2. We use to do music groups and baby development classes where we lived before. I have seen a few music groups advertised, but not much else. I am hoping that I will find something that starts in September (I know most things close down for the summer holidays).

Any plans for a meet up? Thursdays are good for me, but I can't do the 24th of this month.

Glad your settling in well Locks. A lot of the clubs are closed until September but hopefully a few of us can give you some ideas.

There is potentially a good day to be had tommorrow Swindon Mummies and it's free. Wroughton Air Museum has got a classic car and family fun day on from 10am and Lydiard Park is having a massive Family Picnic day with GWR FM and lots of bouncy castles etc. Fingers crossed for good weather as I am planning on wearing my little monkeys out!

hello to you all i currently live in wroughton and have 2 kids, 2yrs and 4 months. i wanted to tell you about the church at the top of the hill . we are launching a new service for parents and children in sept which we hope will be a lot of fun for the children and a great meet up opportunity for mums and dads. the content will be based around current issues, the plan is to have craft, music and stories for the children and a chance to talk and share coffee for the biggies. it will take place on sunday morns 11.15am in church. watch our website www.wroughton.com for more info or chat with me here.

Hi Steppy - Holiday was lovely thankyou, gorgeous weather and a great time had by all. Such a shame to come home really.

Just realised I'm back at work full time in 4 weeks so I won't be able to come to any week day meet ups after the 3rd September. So anyone fancy meeting up before then? Maybe something of a combination of Steppy's nearly new sale and SN4ho's sale?

I'm happy to have it here, or we could meet up elsewhere.

I took DSs to Marlborough today, a lovely little town if a tad busy with traffic. DS1 loved it though as we fed the ducks whilst having lunch.

Hi I am a lurker who is finally coming out of hiding !! I live in west swindon with four of our nine kids ( shows how long I have been lurking we only had eight when I joined !!) I would love to meet up with other local mums, I have two littlies age 2.5 and 5 months plus two teens. Plus 5 stepkids age 22 down to 12 , two have left home, andd three live with their mother in Brizzle ! Good to meet you all at last xx
