Here we are Smile.

OP posts:

I second Bio oil for scarring. DS has a couple of scars on his face and it really helped, in fact I can't remember the last time I noticed them. I hope the pox doesn't interfere with your holiday plans LaG. I quite fancy going to Pembrokeshire at some point. It's on my UK holiday wish list Grin

Quite excited by the new Dr, but only hope the writing is good enough for him. The last series was pretty poor.

Glad you got to go on your holiday Gig. Did I see pics on fb? I have to go and have a proper look. Fingers crossed the weather picks up today!

We had DS's leavers do at nursery yesterday. Both Grin and Sad in equal measures. DS had this 'best friend' at nursery and the parents are/were a bit odd. Anyway, it was a real shame though because as soon as the certificates were handed out they were like 'right, we're off' without giving their DS the chance to say goodbye to anyone. DS was distraught but thankfully recovered quickly!

Gigondas · 05/08/2013 07:34

SmileSad About ds leaving do. But I did Grin at parents - some of the parents of big gigs friends are bloody odd (luckily the most tricky girl and mum has left which is good).

Yes photos on FB dt. Am also Envy of Pembrokeshire.

DTisMYdoctor · 05/08/2013 07:41

One of the nursery staff nabbed me when she was talking to the mum about what great friends they are. It was so awkward. The dad lit a pipe during the afternoon. I mean, wtf???

Gigondas · 05/08/2013 08:16

What lit up in front of kids? ConfusedShockHmm And a pipe?!! It must have taken them some time to get to nursery from the 1950s.

DTisMYdoctor · 05/08/2013 08:38

Yep, in the nursery garden, puffing away. I was very Shock

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 06/08/2013 15:48

Grin at getting to the nursery from the 1950s!

It's so hard when your DC hook up with friends with mad/bad parents Sad. We've been lucky so far but I'm sure it's only a matter of time!

Gig, your pics are fab - it's lovely to see you looking so relaxed and having a good time. I can imagine the op is daunting but I hope you're able to push it out of your mind a little and enjoy some lovely family time x

We've just had a lovely 24 hrs with LG and the boys (photos on FB - of course!). LG's DS2's pox scars are huge Shock, poor little thing. No sign of pox on DS1 but keep us posted Grin.

DT, Edinburgh is on for next year with . . . . . no kids!!!! Grin Will be in touch about dates in the Autumn so we can book accommodation in good time. Will have to meet up again Smile.

Right, ironing - must go and do it!

DTisMYdoctor · 06/08/2013 19:33

?? At Edinburgh visit Peoples. As soon as you have dates let me know and I'll get them in the diary. Currently soaking up the atmosphere over a pint waiting for DH to get a burger! Grin

Gigondas · 07/08/2013 08:03

Ohh sounds like you had a good night dt Smile.
Glad boys had fun Berkshire/lag but am I right in thinking some pox appeared on ds1 lag?

Having fab holiday - cant tell you how nice it is to go away and not be down . I hadn't appreciated until recently how tough mentally and emotionally all this is (more than physical) so made doing normal things tough.

Dr was ok on Monday- I don't know that much more on what exactly do in op as need an MRI scan to look in detail. Choice is the if they do a rod or cage to support my back. Op in next couple of weeks as not mega urgent - I will push for week after next so get to go to France. I think holiday will do Me more good to get me strong and a few more days wont matter.

Hope deb enjoying her break.

DTisMYdoctor · 08/08/2013 19:04

Had a fab couple of nights out this week, thanks Gig. Love the festival Grin

So glad to hear that you're having a good holiday and fingers crossed you get to France as planned. School starts next week here - eek!!!

Gigondas · 09/08/2013 07:48

Which day is ds first day ?

My op scheduled for Tuesday - good its so quick (have had fab week but reminded how I need it as was in pain last night after walking) but does mean no France next week. So will postpone that for recovery.

How is ds1 lag and all set for Wales?

Hope Berkshire enjoying her grown up time.

LaGuerta · 09/08/2013 16:45

Hmm... I think I threw the last of my bio oil out some time ago.

Yes DS1 poxxed up as of Tuesday afternoon. He was decidedly miserable yesterday, but happier today with less requirements for calpol and calprofen.

Getting ready for Pembrokeshire. I have actually packed most stuff for 3.5 people (DH gets to do his pants and toothbrush so that he feels like he has contributed Wink) and it is only 4.30 Shock

I have a feeling that I may not be on the Internet next week as we are going somewhere fairly remote. So, Gig, I will be thinking about you on Tuesday. I have enjoyed your FB photos from this week. It looks like you have made the most of all of Yorkshire's finest tourist attractions! Grin. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

We had a very nice trip to Berks. DS2 very taken with sleeping on the bottom bunk but slightly freaked by Mr Berks' authoritarian manner Wink. Whatever he said it made him go to sleep though Grin.

Wish me luck for being nice to MIL for a whole week. I will need all the luck I can get.

DTisMYdoctor · 10/08/2013 08:56

Friday for school Gig. Glad you got your op date quickly - I guess France is then something to look forward to afterwards?

Have a great holiday LaG - glad you had a good time with Berks. I bet you had sun and everything. I think next summer I need to plan a southern England tour to visit friends, but mostly top up on vitD for the winter Grin.

StitchingMoss · 10/08/2013 09:55
Grin

Mr Berks in shower so just catching up. Grin at him being authoritarian! The boys had a lovely time and are looking forward to doing it again Smile.

DT, come to us next summer Grin!

Gig, been loving the pics - you all look like you've had a fab time. Paris in the Autumn Smile.

StitchingMoss · 10/08/2013 09:56

Oh and I'm back to an old name again Grin!

LaGuerta · 10/08/2013 09:58

We also had rain in Berks too Wink

DTisMYdoctor · 10/08/2013 10:57

See, Berks never admits to rain LaG! Grin

Berks/Stitching I might just take you up on that, it'd be lovely to visit you and your boys!

Gigondas · 10/08/2013 15:13

I think you should definitely come south dt as would be great to see you.

Am loving your fringe posts- did you find a home for the book fest tickets?

Home now and did indeed have a lovely time- we are planning a trip back.

Have only 3G when in next week ( so can post if signal) but also know that will be away with the fairies on drugs for a few days so will get dh to text you stitching .

LaGuerta · 10/08/2013 17:03

DT: don't believe the propaganda from down south. We have made it as far as Carmarthen: only 48 miles to go Grin. It has clouded over and it looks like rain. Wink

Grim traffic in the SE today. As we queued up going through Bracknell (2hrs after leaving home), DS1 pipes up: "Is this Wales now?"

I had to tell him, "No we're near Stitching's house."

Debating whether to give you an ironic mouthful by mouthful account of our holiday on FB Wink (a Scando reference Gig, I am sure you can guess who). I think you will be saved by lack of 3G. However for now you can imagine me sitting in the carpark of Carmarthen Tescos whilst DH has gone shopping for pants for him (if you wish).

Yep he didn't manage to do the packing for 0.5 of a person . Grin

DTisMYdoctor · 10/08/2013 17:25

Grin at weather propaganda. Hope the traffic improves for you LaG.

I'm hoping we might get down for a long weekend in October Gig, will need to speak to DH. Loved all your holiday pics - looks like everyone had a good time. I saw your Christmas thread - that'd be a lovely Christmassy destination. I'd quite like to visit myself, so will keep an eye on that one!

DTisMYdoctor · 10/08/2013 17:26

Oh and was able to return book fest tix but not the fringe ones so not too bad.

Gigondas · 10/08/2013 17:48

GrinAt the tesco packing . Think we were lucky With traffic as seemed to go the other way.

can't think what you mean about FB ref lag Wink but the roaming bill must be eye watering. I feel I have let the side down as no food shots.

Nice to be home but am knackered and wondering how long before can get kids to bed and open wine.

Hope lag can do same soon .

StitchingMoss · 10/08/2013 22:32
Grin

Tbf, LG, you're going to Wales - that doesn't count as being south! I'm talking about south England where the sun always shines!

Welcome home Gig, I will try not to bug your dh too much for updates but it would be great to know when you're out, and up and around Smile.

DT, you are always welcome to come and stay - we run an open house here Grin!

Where's Deb?

StitchingMoss · 10/08/2013 22:35

I meant out of surgery btw, not out of hospital!

Oh and lol at the FB updates Grin.

StitchingMoss · 10/08/2013 22:38

Oh and York is stunning at Christmas Smile.

Gigondas · 11/08/2013 09:11

Wasn't this week when deb was hoping for few days away with her dh?

Don't worry about pestering stitching - dh knows his place as communicator.
