Nothing exciting - no holidays left at work Sad

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 30/07/2013 16:34

Oh that's a shame Sad.

Lots of fringe tickets booked??

DTisMYdoctor · 30/07/2013 20:15

Getting on it tonight Grin. Which makes me think wine is in order... Grin

Hello, just trying to plan a last minute break next week, looking at scottish borders DT, hoping for a day in Edinburgh, are you around next week?.

DTisMYdoctor · 30/07/2013 22:44

Ooh how lovely. Whereabouts in the Borders? I'm at work mostly next week but off on Monday if that's any good to you? Not much planned except a fringe show with DS at 3 o'clock.

DTisMYdoctor · 30/07/2013 22:44

I stayed off the wine - being good doesn't feel that good thoughGrin

disguisedeb · 30/07/2013 23:46

I wondered why everywhere was fully booked, never dawned on me that the festival was on!!

Haven't booked anywhere yet. Looking at maybe Duns or near Selkirk. Like the look of North Berwick but that's so busy, for this next week.

What are you going to see on Monday?

Maybe you could message me your number on FB, or email me fletfam at gmail dot com and if we think we'll make it to Edinburgh I'll call you.

DTisMYdoctor · 31/07/2013 07:40

I've fb'd you. It'd be great if you make it up and Edinburgh is great to visit when the festival is on.

Gigondas · 31/07/2013 21:10

Ohh meet up Envy.

Quick post to mark spot and see how you all are.

How is the cp going lag?

Had quarterly check yesterday (after bad few weeks with back and leg pain that have bored people's about). Good news is no spread but do need another back op.

But trying to ignore that as hols next week in York then paris .

Dt- shame about nursery pals .

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 31/07/2013 21:15

Oh Deb, you must try and make it for the festival - it's fab!! Dh and I are currently in "discussions" about whether we go next year with or without the kids Grin. We had such a fab time just the two of us but the boys would love it too Smile.

Yay for York too - beautiful city Smile.

Gigondas · 31/07/2013 21:18

Just need to negotiate my way out of coming to London on Monday to see surgeon -am sure can talk by phone/do it later but am told its urgent ( not so urgent tho that can't squeeze me in this week Hmm ).

They have no idea of my need for fish and chips and seaside .

DTisMYdoctor · 31/07/2013 21:20

You know we'd love to see you back for the festival next year Peoples, with or without the boys! But if you do bring the boys you must come before the end of the Scottish school holidays!

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 31/07/2013 21:21

Oh that's a pain Gig Sad. Yes, sure it could be done on the phone? And as you say, if really urgent could be done this week!

Is it not just to set a date for the op and talk through practicalities?

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 31/07/2013 21:22

DT, will do Grin! Negotiations ongoing - will keep you posted Grin!

DTisMYdoctor · 31/07/2013 21:26

Grin And if you were up with boys we could give you a night off to go and see a show!

Nice to hear from you Gig. Sorry to hear that you have to go through another op and your consultant interfering with your holiday plans!

Gigondas · 31/07/2013 21:27

That's exactly what I think it's for so goodness knows why need to be there.

When is your adult weekend people? This or next? And isn't it Hol after?

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 31/07/2013 21:27

I think dh is definitely pushing for a DC-free trip - I think he loved the freedom of just wondering around picking up flyers and going to anything we chose. It was fun Smile.

Planning our extension next year so will need to plan costs and times - bringing the kids would probably be cheaper!

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 31/07/2013 21:28

Adult weekend is 10/11th August and then off on holiday the 17th!

Are they worried about protocol doing a meeting which could be quite heavy over the phone?

Gigondas · 31/07/2013 21:32

Dunno- need to speak to consultant sec as only got message. He does do telephone cons so will see.

DTisMYdoctor · 31/07/2013 21:35

Well let me know who wins Grin. If you were thinking of doing something like your previous family holiday to Scotland with a visit to Edinburgh thrown in you know you would be very welcome to stay here for a night or two. Our abode is humble, but we have two bathrooms and could squish you all in.

PeoplesRepublicOfBerkshire · 31/07/2013 21:50

Gig, sounds like it could just be sec being a bit of a pain then - hopefully she's just being a jobsworth and cons will see how important it is for you to be getting a holiday rather than hanging about for a meeting that you're happy to do on the phone.

DT, thank you so much Smile. Will probably be something along those lines, all dependent on finances, so will definitely keep you posted and chat dates nearer the time!

DTisMYdoctor · 31/07/2013 21:59

No problem, Peoples, you'd be very welcome.

Fingers crossed you get your telephone consultation Gig!

LaGuerta · 04/08/2013 23:07

Youch! Just realised 2 weeks have slid by since I last checked in.

Gig - I see you made it to York so did you manage to speak to the con on the phone? Hope you are having a good break. Sorry to hear about another op, but pleased that the quarterly check was ok.

Chicken pox was ok for DS2. It's clearing up, but I think he will scar. Sad Tonight DS1 has 1 tiny spot on his upper lip... But he does get eczema, wait and see. We are meant to be having a sleepover with Berks tomorrow night. Think we will be ok, but we could well end up with an itchy child for travelling to Pembrokeshire for our holiday with the PILs next weekend Sad

Enjoying the school holidays. All quite chilled out so far. It's really nice having both of them at home.

Gigondas · 05/08/2013 07:05

Oh no for scarring - you could try bio oil as that works really well. I think big gig is going to have scar on her face where mini scratched her. Hope tho that itching stops as that is no fun for holidays. Am also really sorry that not around for a catch up today but have a great time.

On balance I am pleased that only an op as could be worse. Little nervous of speaking to dr later as no real idea how long op will be etc etc but can find that out.

Pain much better controlled so having a great time on holiday (that said it is tipping with rain today but am sure we can find something to do). Staying right in centre of York about a minutes walk from the minster so couldn't be better. I am quite happy to stay in town and potter about if it gets bit much on my back to be out and about. It's actually quite nice as can sit in cafe/pub with a kindle and relax.

Dt you excited about the new dr?
