Boo to insomnia Pirate. I don't envy you all trying to entertain DC cooped up in the awful weather. DS's pre-school is all year round so we don't have to worry about that! They've got a big garden so get out most days even if it means raincoats and wellies!
Party was loads of fun to organise Pirate - it was a bit manic, and I spent most of DS's actual birthday baking and stuff which wasn't ideal. He was helping though, which was fun. He likes sitting on the worktops pouring things into the stand mixer. He used to be scared of it, but now he 'likes Ken' (yes, my stand mixer has a name 
). I could have done more in advance, but could not manage despite best efforts to make space in my freezer to freeze cakes etc!
