Getting exciting now Grin Wink!

OP posts:
TheScottishPlayer · 08/05/2012 20:24

It was bloody hard! But I can forget about it until July. Grin. Are you back in the UK?

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 08/05/2012 20:55

Oh well done SP, forgot it was today sorry Blush.

Gig, how are you? Have just put a link on FB to a website you might find of interest at some point. I was involved in the fertility side of it but it covers a huge variety of health issues.

Let me know what time you want us over on Friday x

Had a bit of a manic morning as had to go to A&E with a nasty allergic reaction to something - hands and lips started to swell which was a bit scary. Although dh kindly pointed out I looked like I'd had a cheap botox job which was kind Hmm.

LaGuerta · 08/05/2012 22:41

Well done. How did it go?

disguisedeb · 08/05/2012 23:00

SP, well done for getting through the exam, do you think the wrong bit of book made much difference? Don't suppose you care now??

Gig, glad you got away for the weekend. I like the voice, so much better than x factor

Pirate, jealous of your fun weekend away and late night

LaG How's the sand going down?

Living a narrow life at the moment and just about managing to hold down teacher, Mum and wife but it's a bit tricky to say the least at times Grin I cannot believe how the profession has changed. The teacher I'm covering who they are trying to sack, has currently been signed off for another 4 weeks. She's presently on holiday for 2 weeks in Tenerife Shock Everything else ok here, off back to physio with ethan next week, paed appt not through yet.Stefan's growing up too fast and Tristan's being a bit moany middle child.

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 09/05/2012 10:58

Oh, I missed that they were trying to sack her - will you be taking her job?

I've just applied for another SENCo job - small school, only 16 kids on the SEN register Shock! It would be lovely to get it but I guess they're going to be inundated with applicants so not sure how much chance I'll have.

TheScottishPlayer · 09/05/2012 12:52

I'm not sure how much of a difference the lack of appropriate textbook will make - hard to say until the examiner report comes out to indicate what he was looking for. Thankfully there were no questions explicitly referring to the book (though that's not to say some of the questions weren't indirectly relating to key points in the book). I'm kicking myself about a couple of things I meant to write and didn't and also an optional question choice I made but there's not much I can do now unfortunately!

Pirate - the photos of your w/e away looked good, seems like you all had a good time.

At work so best get back to it!

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 09/05/2012 13:21

It was brilliant SP - everyone got on surprisingly well too!

Planning to make it an annual event now Smile.

LaGuerta · 10/05/2012 08:51

This morning began well when the doorbell rang at 6.55.

I found a 6'6" East European giant on the doorstep asking for the lady who used to live here. He was from the magistrate's court, so I assume he was a bailiff. He was very polite though and took my name and left. Confused I can't remember whether I told you that a couple of months ago we got mail for the man who used to live here from the Met asking him to come for a bail meeting. Confused. He is a former copper and she is still in the police Confused

Oh, and we also know that they have applied for a school place using this address.

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 10/05/2012 10:36

Shock Not a nice way to start the morning LG!

And cheeky buggers using the address for a school place - have you told the council?

LaGuerta · 10/05/2012 12:23

I've told the school (VA of course).

Just got back from a music group where I was slightly traumatised by having to look directly at the gusset of the lady who was running it. She is a bit Anneka Rice in her delivery style and she insists on sitting on her chair with her legs spread. Ok the other week in jeans but today she had a jumper dress on and (thankfully) opaque tights. I was sat next to her mum who I was willing to pipe up with "FGS sit with your legs together" or some such.

TheScottishPlayer · 10/05/2012 12:37

Blimey, LaG - definitely not a good way to start the day! Your music group story made me chuckle.

Deb - sorry to hear how hard going everything is just now. I completely know how you feel and I only have one to contend with! Hope you get the appointment through soon.

LaGuerta · 11/05/2012 15:31

The gusset clearly turned everyone off the thread. Sorry.

Deb - you sound like you have your hands full. Are you able to enjoy being back in the classroom?

Gigondas · 11/05/2012 20:17

It made me laugh and I must admit haven't felt much like that over last week or so.

Deb sorry you are going through such a rough time.

Had lovely visit from curvaceous and her boys. Dh most amused by the fearless ds2 antics.

LaGuerta · 11/05/2012 21:10

Oh good. Smile How's your week been Gig? I've been thinking of you obviously, but figuring that if you aren't posting here then your thoughts are elsewhere.

My DS2 has started climbing too. I keep on walking into a room to find him somewhere highly undesirable. He continues to destroy books at an alarming rate. Today 5 flaps off a book at the evangelical playgroup Blush, then a whole page out of a library book. And yet...still super cute.

Gigondas · 11/05/2012 22:04

He didn't rip a pop up Jesus out did he?

Yep- understandably its been a bit of a shock/daze but taking it a day at a time . I have some help now so starting to see that won't always feel so blue.

Any weekend plans?

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 11/05/2012 22:05

Oooh, I love being called curvaceous Grin! Had such a lovely afternoon with you guys - it was great to see DS1 and DD1 just slipping into an easy friendship again, long may it continue (and the marriage proposal of course Grin)!

Grin at dh's amusement at DS2 - was just telling my dh about his stair surfing antics Shock!

The gusset story made me laugh too LG Grin and I would second that your DS2 is super cute, and will be good company for my DS2 all too soon Grin Wink.

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 13/05/2012 21:15

killed the thread again?! Blush

TheScottishPlayer · 13/05/2012 23:00

Honestly Pirate, you must stop doing that! Busy weekend catching up on stuff, will catch up properly tomorrow.

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 14/05/2012 19:34
Grin
Gigondas · 14/05/2012 20:08

I am lurking but very tired so waves to all Smile. Doing ok but sheer amount of hospital tests , appt etc doing me in plus we have the 4 month growth spurt here.

LaGuerta · 14/05/2012 20:42

Here too.

Not surprised you're done in Gig. How long does it take you to get to the hospital? That alone every day has to be quite a faff.

The sand pit was completed last night. But it's been raining this afternoon so the boys haven't yet tied it out. Still have alot of sand left over. Who'd have thought? Wink

DS1 s bike for his birthday has arrived. It looks good, but I now have to hide it for the next month as they delivered it sooner than promised. It is quite big.

TheScottishPlayer · 16/05/2012 13:35

Hi everyone,

Sorry, not been around too much lately. Manic post-exam trying to catch up on everything I'd been neglecting while studying.

I'm not surprised you're knackered Gig. Are you still having rads every day or are you/have you started chemo? Don't talk about it here if you don't want to though.

Grin at your left over sand LaG! What are you going to do with it all? Have the boys had a chance to play in it yet?

Nothing very exciting to report on here. I've been really busy doing some bits and pieces around the house and am finally getting some curtains for our kitchen/dining room later. I've only seen them online so fingers crossed they look ok or it's back to the drawing board. We also finally got round to getting some proper chairs to go with our dining table - it's only taken 5 years Grin. It's nice to have an area that feels like a proper dining area after all this time. Nothing fancy, but it's got a more finished look (as opposed to mismatched table/chairs, magnolia walls and curtains that clearly don't go). I blew up some quirky pictures from our holidays to replace the generic ikea ones too which is quite nice. I like having little holiday reminders about the place.

Gigondas · 16/05/2012 13:54

Sounds very nice scottish.
Am doing ok- starting to get over the shock and process it all . Radio for another week which is completely knackering (it's an hour each way too- lag I answered your post but Mn ate it). No chemo for another month so I do have a bit of a break.

Nothing exciting going on here

TheScottishPlayer · 16/05/2012 19:23

You're doing very well starting to get over the shock Gig. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it is for you.

Did you watch to Homeland final btw? I thought it was really good. My current guilty pleasure tv shows are Smash and Once Upon A Time. Very frothy.

How is DD2's 4 month spurt panning out - lots of night waking?

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 18/05/2012 20:15

marking my spot x
