Getting exciting now Grin Wink!

OP posts:
TheScottishPlayer · 03/05/2012 17:18

UK coalition I would say. Lib dem vote here is very much of the leftie liberal wing I would say. Took votes from Labour because of Iraq etc. Definitely not soft Tories. They've got no machinery by all accounts and aren't standing huge numbers of candidates.

LaGuerta · 03/05/2012 17:51

Gig, I too am so sad and sorry that the scan results weren't good. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. I will endeavour to keep you supplied with non medical chat and my splendid drawings. Lots of hugs from me to you. Xx

Clearly with the tonne of sand I decided to take the staycation idea to its logical conclusion. I will post a photo of the sand on fb.

disguisedeb · 03/05/2012 20:03

oh Gig, I was just checking up on you, so sorry to hear the news, but will try and be here for you when I can. Dropped out of Draw something as internet isn't always great on my phone.

Hi to everyone else, I cannot imagine how much a tonne of sand is!!!

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 03/05/2012 20:37

Gig, I know we have communicated lots already ((((((((((gig)))))))))

LG, I was Shock and Grin at your sand!

SP, I giggled at the "which do I save?" dilemma too!

"why are Lib Dem so unpopular?" - cos they traitorous bastards Grin. Dh used to be a staunch LibDem (big softie) but we both voted Labour today - counts as a spoilt ballot paper round here unfortunately but it was Lab, LD, Tory or UKIP. Great choice Hmm.

V excited about our weekend away - anyone else got bank holiday plans?

TheScottishPlayer · 04/05/2012 12:33

No bank holiday plans here. I'm so looking forward to next year and not having exams over the bank holiday weekend! Not long until our little Midlands/North adventure though so we have that to look forward to.

I really must do lots of revision today but it's so hard with all the election coverage to distract me. Stayed up quite late drinking wine so a bit weary today. Lots of exciting results if you have my political persuasion. Scotland might not be quite as positive though!

LaGuerta · 05/05/2012 12:59

Somehow I have managed to arrange a playdate with the wife of the minister of the evangelical church and her 4yo for Tuesday. I knew it was risky going to the evangelical church playgroup Wink.

Flipping freezing here today, and there is still no heating. Appropriately DS1 has decided to watch "the Snowman" on DVD. He is really enjoying it.

How is Paris Gig? DD1 doesn't look that warm in the fb photo? Hope you are getting some good headspace this weekend. xx

TheScottishPlayer · 05/05/2012 19:28

Sunny here! for a change However not much use if you're stuck indoors studying. Turns out the core textbook for my exam subject changed and there's absolutely no way I can get a copy before Tuesday on account of the bank holiday AngrySad I'm trying to stay positive.

How's France Gig. Hope you and DH are doing ok.

Gigondas · 05/05/2012 19:43

Oh no Scottish SadSad Angry that is ridiculous to hear so late.

Am coping is about all i can say so its pretty shit to be honest but have had amazing hand holding from someone in similar position on here. Am annoyed at how I was told- ok, it's bad news but being told alone with no follow up pastoral care on hand and by a crying dr doesn't leave me feeling supported etc . Just makes me feel hopeless .

Sorry - cant pretend to be upbeat but am sure will turn corner. Kids and dh having nice time and it is good to be away.

Gigondas · 05/05/2012 21:44

Didnt mean to kill thread Blush

TheScottishPlayer · 05/05/2012 21:58

You so didn't! Had a mahoosive post and then MN went down so lost it grrrr. Will try again tomo. What's everyone up to tonight. We're catching up on the Voice. They're all a bit more talented than your average xfactor contestant, but I am finding it a bit dull. Anyone else watching it still?

Oh, and anyone watching Homeland? I can't wait until tomorrow night's episode!

LaG - any progress on your holiday plans? Looking forward to hearing all about your playdate.

Btw, is no-one playing draw something with me in an attempt to prevent me from getting distracted from my revision? Grin

Gigondas · 05/05/2012 22:02

Am watching French voice now- its quite good. They are a few weeks further on so the contestants sing with each other and their coaches.

Draw something playing up on my phone so that's my reason.

TheScottishPlayer · 05/05/2012 22:30

Ah, hopefully it will get more interesting. Tonight, 3 of the coaches stood to give someone a standing ovation (not Will), Will then looked at them so thought he should stand up but clearly didn't think it was worthy of a standing ovation. You wouldn't get that on the xfactor!

LaGuerta · 05/05/2012 23:20

I haven't been watching the Voice or Homeland, although I would like to see the latter at some stage. Tonight we watched Madmen which I love. The late 60's fashions in the latest series are fantastic.

We went to buy a wheelbarrow today, so that the sand can be moved. Then I dug out the derelict sandpit and found a frog at one end and then what I think is a newt living at the other. Having just looked the newt up on the Internet it turns out I have broken the law by destroying it's habitat (albeit a sandpit) Blush. All in all a rock and roll afternoon.

Scottish. Sorry about draw something. It's not personal. Just distracted at the moment. I will get back to it tomorrow.

Scottish you seem to be very unlucky when it comes to this particular paper. Hope you manage to get prepared over the next few days.

Don't hold your breath for our holiday plans. I will now nudge DH as to whether he has booked the time off for the next few months. Then he will announce that he can't take those weeks, and then we will be back to square one.

Gig - what an awful way to be given bad news. You poor thing. Glad that you are getting some positive support on MN.

Night all.

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 06/05/2012 08:19

Is it a great crested newt by any chance LG?! Grin

SP, sorry to hear about the book but the election results were fab Grin.

Gig, I was stunned that you were told your results while alone, it is such bad practise Sad. And I'm not surprised ur struggling right now - cant think I'd be coping any differently Sad.

We're away this w/e, having a fab time but got to bed at 4am Shock! I am too old for late nights! Grin

TheScottishPlayer · 06/05/2012 08:21

Oh yes, loved the results Pirate Grin. I'm amazed you're up! 4am is no fun when you've got children to get you up eh? Hope you had a good night.

TheScottishPlayer · 06/05/2012 08:26

Oops, posted too soon. LaG - oops, re the newt! I guess you weren't to know.

Homeland is really good - I would absolutely recommend getting the box set on love film or downloading it. I've got the latest series of Mad Men on my planner but I haven't watched series 4 yet (or maybe series 3 too actually) so I want to try and catch up.

Yes, feeling unlucky re the paper - well, kicking myself really. I only discovered it upon reading through some old past papers and the actual paper I sat last year had some questions based on the new textbook but I didn't pick up on it Blush. It's annoying, because the course is in transition and the new book is supposed to be for the new module in the same topic. So, I'm kicking myself but I'll just give it a bash and see how I get on.

LaGuerta · 06/05/2012 11:32

I think it was a smooth newt actually Wink

Gigondas · 06/05/2012 20:36

Are you ken livingstone lag - isn't he Into newts ?

French electiontastic here

LaGuerta · 06/05/2012 22:36

A-ha the truth has finally been revealed Gig.

Who is going to win the election then? I liked the analysis after the first round on the BBC where they tried to explain the appeal of Sarkozy's opponent (whose name I forget) as being that he was dull and boring and after the glamour of The Sarkozy's that's what the French are craving.

TheScottishPlayer · 06/05/2012 23:28

Viva la socialism!

LaGuerta · 06/05/2012 23:30

Indeed. I have just switched the radio on.

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 07/05/2012 22:13

Marking my place, back from our first NCT weekend and very tired. Had a lovely time though and planning the next one for October!

Hi to everyone and special hugs for Gig, can't wait to see you on Friday x

SurprisinglyCurvaceousPirate · 08/05/2012 19:56

It's very quiet on here, off to knit but will pop back later x

TheScottishPlayer · 08/05/2012 20:05

Hellooooooo! My exam is done. Yay. Now I can tidy my house start planning our England trip and birthday pirate adventures. Woo!

Gigondas · 08/05/2012 20:23

That's great how did it go?
