Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

Right, chaps .

If that South-East London lot can get it together to go for a curry, why can't we?

I know it's probably a bit close to Christmas to do anything in a hurry, but let's aim for January, shall we?

I suggest Rasa in Stoke Newington Church St but am open to suggestions.

Anybody interested?

Thursday 9th is good for me -- look forward to seeing everyone!

Dinosaur · 16/01/2006 09:38

.

Ingyb · 16/01/2006 13:17

That's fine with me also. FYI, a good place to go on a Thurs on Bar Lorca or whatever they call it these days. Always a good vibe, just a suggestion.

Posey · 16/01/2006 13:34

Need to get dh to check his work rota. Will let you know asap.

aelita · 16/01/2006 13:47

Barring acts of god, illness or premature birth, Thurs 9th should be good for me too...

hoxtonchick · 16/01/2006 13:54

9th good for me

MarsOnLife · 16/01/2006 13:59

can't find my diary, but I think that the 9th should be good for me too.

NotQuiteCockney · 16/01/2006 14:10

Is there a polite way to start trying to mooch a lift, from anyone travelling past Mile End or similar? (Anywhere near Victoria Park, or Mile End or Roman Road or Bethnal Green?) There probably isn't.

Arabica · 16/01/2006 18:48

9th good for me too!
Bar Lorca has just changed hands and I am not sure if it is open at the moment, I heard it was being converted back to a pub. I can suggest a couple of pubs to meet in if people want to, or there is Bar 98.

alittlebitshy · 16/01/2006 20:11

If i can get a babysitter I'll come. Unfortunately Dh has a regular church thing (honestly, these vicars, why don't they have normal hours on a thurs....

keep you posted!!!

Dinosaur · 17/01/2006 11:50

Right, people, it's lookiing like 9th February.

I suggest that we stick with the vegetarian branch of Rasa. Mars and other rampant carnivores, I can assure you you won't miss the animal flesh at all.

Arabica · 17/01/2006 13:03

That's great! It's in my diary. I wish I was going there right now--I'm having one of those days when I could eat the computer.

Posey · 18/01/2006 20:17

Really sorry but no can do unfortunately. Dh is working that day (he does evenings/nights)
Maybe next time...

chicagomum · 18/01/2006 20:23

Oh bu**er, think the 9th is probably a litle tricky as we are of on holiday on the 10th so a bit unlikely dh will be home in time to take over kiddy duty. The mn meet-up gods really are out to get me at the mo.

NotQuiteCockney · 20/01/2006 09:27

Ha, last night DH announced he'd been invited to some v. important drinks that night by someone important blah blah blah.

So apparently he is sorting the sitter, then.

(I nearly never go out in the evening, so he knows he has to work around me.)

Annoyingly, though, his drinks are in town at 6pm, so I am putting the kids down on my own (or with whoever the sitter turns out to be), before heading up to stokey.

Dinosaur · 20/01/2006 11:29

Really sorry, chicagomum and posey.

Dinosaur · 24/01/2006 11:37

Anybody else out there want to sign up? Thursday 9 Feb? Bundle? Welshmum? Anyone else ?

Cratchit · 24/01/2006 16:36

Hello - Can't do it this time DH's work is bit bonkers on Thursdays and we haven't braved a sitter yet. So just wanted to say hello and yes please for another time!

bundy · 25/01/2006 10:32

yes please dino, it's in my diary

Arabica · 26/01/2006 13:07

just bumping for today's N/E Londoners!

MarsOnLife · 28/01/2006 16:46

I can't come.

I've got my first OU tutorial in Waterloo that evening.

Gutted!

NotQuiteCockney · 01/02/2006 08:32

I am flying to Mexico at noon that day, so don't think I can make it. Sorry. I will make the next one, I promise.

Dinosaur · 01/02/2006 14:21

NQC - I am glad you've got a flight sorted out now. We will all be thinking of you.

MarsOnLife - . OU sounds interesting though - what are you going to study?

I suppose I should get on and book a table at Rasa for the rest of us, then . Will do it this evening.

Dinosaur · 06/02/2006 13:28

Right - have booked a table at Rasa for 8.30 p.m. (to give us time to put our brats to bed first, and so that anyone who wants to meet for a drink first can do).

I have as definites:

Frogs
Bundy
Hoxtonchick
ooops
aelita
Arabica
ingyb

Would appreciate it if you could all just confirm one more time as Rasa is quite a small restaurant and I don't want to wind them up by booking a bigger table than we actually need.

Other people who expressed an interest but haven't said whether they can make 9th feb:

tamula
alittlebitshy
VeniVidiVickiQV
welshmum

If anyone knows them, could they give them a holler?
