Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

Right, chaps .

If that South-East London lot can get it together to go for a curry, why can't we?

I know it's probably a bit close to Christmas to do anything in a hurry, but let's aim for January, shall we?

I suggest Rasa in Stoke Newington Church St but am open to suggestions.

Anybody interested?

Okay, then, those who have expressed an interest in this are:

frogs
Marslady
welshmum
hoxtonchick
QueenVictoria (?) (or did you just want to go round to Marslady's house?!)
Ingyb
Posey
tamula
aelita

So where are you all? Shall I just nominate a date, and we'll see how many of us can do it?

And is everyone happy with Rasa (vegetarian South Indian restaurant on Stoke Newington Church St)?

MarsOnLife · 12/01/2006 17:01

Veggie??????????6 Veggie???????????????^

What about carnivorus carnivores like me?

(Though I'm sure I could survive lol)

Dinosaur · 12/01/2006 17:03

I'm a carnivore too, Marsy, but it is just fantastic food even though it is vegetarian. I'll try and pull up a review of it.

MarsOnLife · 12/01/2006 17:03

that's okay then. lol

Don't worry Dinosaur... I trust you completely.

bundle · 12/01/2006 17:04

dino, me me me

Dinosaur · 12/01/2006 17:06

No, really Marsy, I insist...

hopefully this should be a link to TimeOut review

Dinosaur · 12/01/2006 17:07

bundle - excellent!

Dinosaur · 12/01/2006 17:08

Oops that link is no good, it asks you for your credit card details! Will try and find another...

Dinosaur · 12/01/2006 17:10

Try this

Which reminds me, it does have a non-vegetarian branch across the road - I've not eaten there myself, but would be more than happy to give it a go if we don't have any vegetarians amongst the crew?

chicagomum · 12/01/2006 17:11

Tentatively dips toe into the meet-up waters once more and quietly asks "May I come too?" (If it is a weekday night will have to see if dh will be home in time to look after kids though).

Dinosaur · 12/01/2006 17:36

Would be great to have you along, chicagomum.

I am planning to suggest we meet at 8 p.m. if not slightly later to give all parties time to put kids to bed before departure. But obviously advance parties of drinkers can be accommodated in Stokey watering hole .

MarsOnLife · 12/01/2006 17:44

I will clearly be in the advance drinkers party lol

VeniVidiVickiQV · 12/01/2006 17:47

No, please include me

(would still like a nose at marsy's new house though )

Dinosaur · 13/01/2006 09:54

Good stuff, VVVQV (love the new name).

LOL oops. You'll be doing well to park an artic in Stokey Church St!

Apparently Tanya Turner off Footballers' Wives lives in Stokey. Can't see Rasa being her style somehow though (well, not if she's really like TT.)

Right, am going to consult work diary tomorrow and then proffer a date in Feb for this.

NotQuiteCockney · 15/01/2006 15:44

I might be able to do this.

Not during half-term though!

And I'm not veggie, although I'm ok with veggie or non-veggie food.

alittlebitshy · 15/01/2006 16:34

I'm in as far east london as you can get - so east in fact that the post office call us essex, but we know we're truly in london (we are borough of redbridge)

does that mean I am allowed to come????

Pretty please?!

Arabica · 15/01/2006 16:56

Ooh can I come too! I don't know how I missed this thread before. I am a veggie but am happy to go to original Rasa or Rasa Travacore (the omnivorous version). There is also a new bar if anyone fancies a drink first--it's called Bar 98, just near junction with Bouverie Road.
I think Rasa is non-smoking and Rasa Travacore has a smoking area, if that's an issue for anyone.

Dinosaur · 15/01/2006 17:42

NQC, alittlebitshy and arabica - great to hear from all of you - hope you can all come. Thanks for warning about half-term, NQC - I shall avoid it.

Arabica · 15/01/2006 17:49

I can't do Tues 7 February.

Dinosaur · 15/01/2006 17:56

How does Thursday 9 February suit everyone?

NotQuiteCockney · 15/01/2006 19:14

That should be fine for me. DH is going away for half-term, so owes me big.
